Being a Japanese group based out of Korea and singing in English???? This was GENIUS planning. Props to whoever put them together. They are going to be huge.

They want to be known as a global group. They are definitely heading in the right direction. Their debut song is Tippy Toes. They most certainly came out of the gate swinging!

They are hotter than any GG group right now on the PLANET! Don't even sleep on XG because their momentum is going crazy galactic! Album completely sold out and they have the "recipe" for success globally if they do it right. Cousin in Cali says their songs "Shooting Star" and "Left Right" are bangin' everywhere! Their flavor of 90s/early 2000s is nostalgic and a renaissance dating back to those times of R&B. They're an obvious hit since everyone is talking about them. Next up, more R&B, R&B w/ rap AND an all rap song with the 4 rappers in the group. Friendly reminder, they ain't KPop, some call them XPop (crossover) or just Pop since their tracks are in english (only) or with a slight mix of Japanese and Korean. Neverless, XG is A1 Flawless for a reason....they ain't missin'.

He's a korean RnB singer from America. I was honestly so surprised seeing him on this song, but it slaps just as hard as his own stuff, like Murda or Surrender TT
In the year 2023, it's damn near impossible to find a new song that doesn't have an element or more that sounds like something that has already been done.

First time I saw the "Left Right" MV, first artist that came to mind was Missy Elliot like you just said! Or even a bit of TLC. All I know, they are damn REFRESHING in 2023.

Taking us back, giving the nostalgia/renaissance of those past years with their spin on it has touched that generation (like me, a 90s kid in highschool) and the new generation. That's quite the audience they've captured. Now they need mass promotion globally, North America, Europe,etc. If they stay on his path of R&B and Hip-Hop (songs), man, they can dominate.

i know this group is really hype, but in reality the company is taking things very slow. Compared to newer groups that came out after them and take the world by storm and got really well known. XG still pretty much a "who" even in Japanese despite their single albums being sold out in stores lmao. it's a weird thing, but as a fan i don't really care about how big they'll get because i've seen some groups being hyped around but really never break out years after still.

Koreans are not mad about XG because they're Japanese. There was absolutely no hate about XG at all until the most recent album. The controversy only happened at this album because during marketing for this album, XG's CEO openly dissed K-POP, Korea, and Korean artist BoA (I'm not talking insinuations - he literally just blatantly dissed Korea and K-POP). He was adament that XG is not a K-POP group and showed disdain at how Korea is beating Japan in pop music. And then it became clearer and clearer what their strategy has been all this time - they are exploiting K-POP's international fandom, using K-POP for exposure to international fans, while refusing to respect K-POP and Korea (all their performances are in Korea, almost all their trainers, songwriters, stylists, photographers, MV directors, main producers are Korean professionals from the K-POP industry, but they don't want any association with Korea and K-POP. how rude is that? is that not exploitation? and similar to cultural appropriation?). Want another example of their exploitation? They filmed their pre-debut practice video in YG's practice room and then there was an explosion of news saying XG is a new YG group. I've worked in media and the thing is, that cannot be unintentional (even if it was somehow "accidental", Avex never clarified and YG itself had to step in and say XG is not a YG group) I live in Korea and I literally thought they were a YG group until last month because all the news at the time of their debut said they're a YG group. It's fine if you like this group but get the facts right before you insult an entire country.
