I liked shooting star more but after watching the live performance of left right, the dance just made me love it more. It gave it the edge over shooting star for me. Love the 90s vibes. It brings the nostalgia and music was so good in that time period along with the early 00s.

I’ve come to the conclusion that’s the main appeal of K-pop. They take everything we love about the 90s/late 2000s pop, hip hop and RnB then infuse it with some Asian eccentricity and it’s a great formula.
They do exude a really fun energy and have heaps of charisma and seemingly no holes. The songs have been good too. I haven't been this interested in a GG since 2NE1 and I'm really enjoying these ladies! Fun reaction and Bang Bang always coming through with the jokes!

In general, a lot of artist (speaking about kpop/jpop) receive a concept for a comeback or album from their company or producers and try their best to perform within that concept. But with XG I don't get that vibe. From watching/reading their interviews and reality content I really feel like this music IS them, it's not a concept er se. That is part of the reason why it stands out so much. When you make music you believe in then it comes off different - like was said in the video here - you can just see how much fun they are having. Been saying it since they dropped this single album - But I strongly feel that if XG is allowed to stay in this R&B groove, they have a real chance to fill a void in music that in my opinion has been present since the end of the 90's/early 2000s (in general, not just in kpop/jpop).

I said it since pre-debut. XG is the girl group that is most likely to touch Blackpink type numbers and impact. And i didn't even love Tippy Toes or Mascara...i thought they did their thing and showed us what they're capable of. But i knew that with their talent and hunger, that they would just be one banger from really taking off. Yes...i know, it's a bold claim and it's true that there are so many factors that come into play and that a lot of things have to fall into place for them, but they really could be as big as (bigger?) Blackpink. And that's not just a comment on their talent, which they've got in spades. It's also a comment to their concept, sound, and to general music consumption patterns. If their company makes the right moves and manages them well and strategically, then these girls have enough talent to hold all of the huge upside potential. Honorable mention goes to Le Sserafim and New Jeans...also beasts in their own ways, but all 3 groups, while different, share some key elements in common. Then with BABYMONSTER coming out soon? sheesh. Very interesting to see how all of this unfolds in the next few years.

I agree…I feel like for so many years, kpop are all about the performances and facial expressions being choreographed to the T. Everything had to look fierce and girl crush-y. When NWJNS came out, it was refreshing to see the free-ness of the performances/dances/interactions. They didn’t have to be straight-faced all the time. Ador even put out performance vid that are just them messing around while dancing. I came across XG on Spotify by accident, and am really loving their two latest songs thus far. While I definitely don't mind ragging on the unfortunate abundance of crappy men that exist in the world, I definitely wouldn't mind more "I love my boo" type of music or just something fun and energetic to listen and dance to in my room or while I'm cleaning or something.
