    Tested a 3-foot long intake manifold on the Tillotson 212 powered Doodlebug minibike to see if the bike would be any faster with the long intake manifold. Used a 24 MM flat slide carburetor for the test.

      Our thoughts on the current controlled EXTRATERRESTRIAL reality disclosure process and related US GOV cover-up? Once the uneasy, contagious giggling subsides, how will our civilization and the mislead sheep adapt to this publicly known reality? Are the good Shepherds withholding the truth in our best interest? Perhaps multiple species are involved? How will the 80+ years of dishonesty be addressed? Has the cost of maintaining the lie exceeded the price of simply telling the truth? Is it time this great country start walking the walk? What might be some of the potential implications of disclosure of this reality? New energy sources perhaps? Transportation? Religions? History? The economy? Race relations? Politics? Perhaps it leads to confirmation of an established "secret" space program? But does the flock really want to know the complete story?

    I'm only 3 minutes into your video and, personally, increasing exhaust back pressure (BP), and increasing intake restriction will hurt your HP. The expert must have meant every foot will decrease, not increase. But, let's continue. Exhaust is way more complex than I originally thought. True, you want to reduce or eliminate BP but if thats all, use a big diameter pipe. But, that won't work. The right diameter and length exhaust pipe will actually create a vacuum clearing out waste gases from the cylinder. That's if I'm understanding this topic.

    What about running an intake facing forward with a wide mouth to catch lots of air and funneling it down? Ram-air?

  • @VirtualCryptid
    @VirtualCryptid ปีที่แล้ว +36

    Put the tube before the carb to let the air ram through the carb vs trying to keep the air fuel charge suspended

    The decrease in performance was obviously due to the weight of all the zip ties lol. Im actually surprised it ran as well as it did, particularly at low RPM considering the fact that fuel tends to drop out of the air flowing through an intakeover a longer distance.

    The long tube in the airstream offset the performance gains you expected. Additionally, the drag was asymmetric so you would be continuously turning to correct, causing further power loss. Try a ram intake that is at or near the centerline of the bike, before the carb.

    Before I'd go machining the head for another spark plug, I'd figure out a way to put an accelerator pump near the engine to clear up that 0 to 5 mph lull while the engine is waiting for the "jump to light speed" that is quite clear in the first 0 to 30 run.
    Use a push pull throttle and make push cable release a spring loaded (jet-able) accelerator pump. Fine tuning will be required.
    Should bring you into the 3.0's so hold on with both hands. ;)

    • @williamrosenow6176
      @williamrosenow6176 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the low end lag is the time it takes the small engine to draw a vacuum on that long intake pipe. He could put a 90 deg, forward facing with a scoop to help or maybe a 90 deg up so the charge falls towards the engine. Got to get the fuel/air charge to the engine faster at low rpm. Maybe a smaller diameter pipe too that's a big intake. Like you said it probly needs more fuel on takeoff too.

    • @kevinsellsit5584
      @kevinsellsit5584 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@williamrosenow6176 At idle before the run, the entire length of the manifold has the maximum vacuum the engine can produce, but the lowest velocity it can produce.
      When the throttle is slammed wide open the engine will get a massive gulp of air (with idle richness fuel already mixed in) but then the manifold has almost no vacuum, but atmospheric pressure helping to fill the void while the engine is waiting for the now open main jet's fuel rich mixture to finally reach the combustion chamber.
      Notable improvements would result from fattening the idle richness until it was on the verge of fouling the plug, but who wants to sit on a minibike in a black cloud of poisonous gas? Not to mention when all your buddies go rippin off and you stall just as you hit the gas.
      That being said, a tiny squirt of fuel just as you dump that massive gulp of air into the cylinder would be just the ticket unless you are holding a camera in one hand ... The bike will leave but you will not.
      Another good option would be a vacuum operated carb that will maintain intake velocity for you even if you slam the throttle plate WFO.
      They have an accelerator pump as well.

    Actually betting that a 10-12 inch long smaller-diameter intake tube would increase bottom end torque and drop 0-30 times without dramatically hurting the top speed. The old Chrysler long ram 413 achieved over 100% volumetric efficiency naturally aspirated at low RPMs by creating a "ram" effect in a narrow RPM window, and many modern engines employ that tech.

    interesting longer intake(to a point) should give more torque not as much Hp. Top speed would need to adjust gearing because rpm would be your limiting factor. The throttle on the long intake is two cables put together . It's not the most responsive throttle setup. I try and be as consistent as possible when doing 0 to 30 testing . This is why I turn the throttle on and off as quickly as possible the same way every time . To get the most consistent results.

    I wonder what the drag coefficient is on that intake with all the junk on it and sticking way out there. Try a trumpet end on the exhaust to help scavenge and curve the intake tube around the back and come back up front with it. Put a funnel stack on the carb to force more air in. After you get the results from that, install a blower driven by the chain at 10% overdrive. If you still have a running machine after all that, I can come up with more ideas, like nitrous.😅

    You should wrap that pipe around your ankles my bad I mean the frame be safe remember your helmet gloves boots bubble wrap like in Empire starts back bubble wrap on a spacesuit

    I'd try running the intake pipe vertically as there is less chance of the fuel falling out of suspension. Use a smaller diameter pipe to keep the air velocity up and maybe rejet the carb.

    My vote is for forced induction and nitromethane.

    Sooo......... get this..... you should try sending the intake thru the middle of the exhaust. Have it y out at both ends but have the intake tube inside the exhaust tube!!

    • @001035925
      @001035925 ปีที่แล้ว

      But make sure that the carb has at least 3-4" run before it enters the exhaust pipe

    Knowing what I know about thermodynamics I would suggest preheating the exhaust with a bronze ematic

    Could you not make the intake pipe into a smooth S shape so it could run parallel to the frame? Would be considerably more practical.

    So why not put a u bend in the intake so the carb comes out between the forks and through a velocity stack for a little ram induction?🤔

    You can expect to double your hp if you point your intake and carb forward like a ram air joust.

    You need to add fuel to compensate for the ridiculously long intake runner it's probably running a touch to lean
