    Watches enough of your videos to know when you're enthusiastic about a product or not. As great as Sage is as a company on the cutting edge of rod design, it just feels like when you put them next to Meridians, Sectors, NRX's, Asquiths, etc....they're just ALWAYS missing "something"....feel like I'll be an old man before the day comes where they deliver a real home run like a Meridian.

    I found some success on a local creek today. Very clear water and aggressive fish, the bite was good.

    How much line would you say you were throwing here, Joe? Always enjoy watching you cast.

    Difference between the t&t sextant ? More stiff or more soft ?

    What’s your opinion on fly line damage from casting on grass?

    • @redsflyshop
      @redsflyshop  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. I probably burn through a line faster than most due to the grass, but I think of it like ammo for my rifles or arrows for my bows. For $100 I can get hours of good casting practice. I think cleaning it and treating it is a good practice. I use the RIO Fly Line Towlettes quite a bit.

      Great analogy. I hadn’t thought of it that way

    This rod in a 9' #8wt costs the equivalent to USD 1450 in my country (European). Sorry, but that's unacceptable.

      @redsflyshop  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok oh man that's pretty raw. Maybe get a Loop.

    • @perrykomick9478

      Sounds like your country has some horrible import duties which are unacceptable....which has nothing to do with the price of the rod....

    • @Talos353
      @Talos353 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@perrykomick9478 No it doesn't.. Other rod prices for comparison: G. Loomis Asquith costs 1050 USD, Scott Centric 1000 USD, Winston Air Salt 1050 USD... It's the European Sage distributor that sets these insane prices.

      1800 in Australia so US 1150 not cheap but if ya send it alot and you like the rod 🤷‍♂️

    I have been fly fishing for almost 40 years now and to be honest fly fishing has become something I can't recognise anymore. So much BS about rod actions (rods that when they were launched were raved and now you say they were actually not that good?...), fly line mumbo jumbo and casting tricks...
    Please keep it simple and refrain from technicalities that nobody actually understands.
    BTW, that final delivery cast was crap and you know that

      Seemed like a pretty clean cast to me. Just because you're not the biggest fan of current casting techniques and how salt-water flyfishing has become more effective doesn't mean that Joe shouldn't be able to share some very constructive and usable nuances on technique
