I get the idea you think someone has to go to college to become an engineer. Fact is an engineer is someone that uses methods and thought to solve problems and you don't need a college degree to pass the professional engineer test for your state. Most gearheads are engineers in their fight for better numbers, unless you are a thug like Cleetus McFarland who is stuck in his teenage years of destruction. We tried to tell Cleetus how to get real numbers, but he had it all figured out how to fail. It only took him years to figure out why BB's give more power. Some of us have the degree and have worked in the field of engineering for 30+ years and we know the toxic ego issue that graduates college.
You do realise that Cletus being a “destructive teenager” is not only irrelevant it’s almost baked in to his channel’s recipe for successful videos. How many people do you think would watch if nothing ever exploded, didn’t take any risks, didn’t do anything stupid and crazy? He’d be just another boring car channel. Sounds like American Top Gear might be more in your lane
@@fullsendmarinedarwin7244 Thanks for the laugh! Sometimes engineering educated humor gathers the morons in the crowd. Did you know that a redneck is usually drunk and doing stupid things out of boredom? So how can a city boy like Garrett be a redneck?
I only wish they had this Technology when I was a kid and started racing, in a way it was good that I learned how to tune and build an Engine with My brain and a lot of testing we didn't have the parts they have today.
Thanks for putting this in English for us. I've took some tuning classes that Made things hard to understand. I can follow you and understand how to tune and now know when things are right or wrong! Thanks so much Steve!
Steve your supervisor saw that oil spill 😳😅. Super cool to see the customer and the instruction process. It just really loved that timing. Can't believe how easy of a pump gas deal the stage 1 is. That Nova is going to be SWEET!👌🏻🤘🏻
Sweet! I’m polishing my F1R for my SBC right now as I watch your fantastic video! I’m about 15 hours deep so far sanding and polishing. Now I’m doing the easy part, the brackets. Thanks Steve Btw this is my first time playing with boost at all
Thanks for the spark plug segment. I never asked, nor watched one of your previous 150 videos on it. I did however learn something and will have to look back through your vids for a pump gas read on plugs.
Great video today a good reliable 1252hp on pump fuel easy to live with engine. Supervisor Dewey on the job making sure everything is going well he's building a fan base all of his own.
I have to say as a side note, I've watched this channel since since you had just a few thousand subscribers so it's awesome to see you at almost 500K (as of this comment) and I'm sure you'll hit 1mill soon enough! Keep up the great work Steve, God bless.
Another fine video! 👍 Just thinking about people watching your videos and trying to build a motor and not coming up with the same numbers, not realizing you haven't spilled all your secrets! 🤣🤣
Hi! I really enjoy watching your videos. They are entertaining and interesting. My dog Rogue really loves Dewey. She gets excited and scream whines at him. Thank you for sharing him
I was thinking of how you said airflow is key to power. What if you rifled the inlet tubes and charge tubes in the flow direction of the turbos and ran each intake side for each turbo and each intake tube have rounded caps on the rear for max flow less breakup . I would think with directional flow and closed sided turbos you would get max flow with least resistance. Let me know what you think! Happy easter! Awesome job all the way around!
Great review Steve! Oh! PLEASE: Thank the ever present, Hard Working, Extremely Attentive "Poucher" (Do NOT tell him his name escapes me @ the moment?) His presence noted much more this video! (I knew more brains were needed to all of this off!) Thank you So Very Much! J
Dang Steve, that stage one sounds so crispy.👍 Looks amazing with full access. acc. set-up. You're a RockStar/Mad Scientist thanks for the Bonus scenes featuring DynoDawgDewey 🤣
It's cool what can be done with these engines... (Big block Chevy) Not that 1200hp is breaking any records but, that motor should live for a LONG time.... And look great doing it!
interesting to watch "steve's" body language when he speaks...it's his mind working 10x faster than his facial expressions...pure genius...similar to Einstein. great video...wished my Por...had over 100 psi oil pressure. cheers.
the lead/trail detection fix stated was in the set up info?. The timing sensor will have characteristic waveform output shape encoded knowing to change the setting to fix the spark timing miss-fire. I understand the body-language and the little delay says lots.
Steve when You do these dyno's are all these setups running closed loop AFR correction and do You have any knock control on? Your content is just GOLDEN🎉🎉
Hey Steve, if someone was planning to go external dry sump on an LS and planned to run a cog drive blower setup, do you think it would be worthwhile to have a slug the same outer diameter (+0.002-.003") pressed into a factory LS oil pump housing (in place of the gerotor) and machined for a roller bearing center in order to support the nose of the crankshaft to take some of the abuse away from the front main bearings ?
This might be a challenge and perhaps more of a wet dream of mine but Tavarish got a McLaren P1 with some engine issues.... if he cant solve them in a regular way i would love to watch the entire build from scratch . I think that would be an awsome series of videos. Might be a bit to much but still a great idea?
@@stevemorrisracing did I spell his name right? Nice tuning on all kind of fuels, but how you make it roadworthy, and pass emissions when you travel between tracks ? I never see anyone talk about that, would be nice to see some tips and tricks on passing emissiontests on these engines.
Sorry Steve, forgot to ask about the "New Rear End": how is it working out? It is so massively Gorgeous! Could I get a Tee Shirt with featured pics of it? Thanx, J
Is 32 degrees of timing at 14 psi safe on 91 octane with this engine combo running at full operating temp on a warm day? Do you use a knock sensor for pump gas tuning?
I'm here for Duey, Steve is just value added.
Sammmeeee ❤️❤️❤️
Absolutely!
Yea Duey def steals the show.
Well he is the shop supervisor after all
I always figured it was Dewey
Another learning experience from Steve. Very much appreciated. Great to see Dewey checking in on all the action.
I'm not only impressed with your ability Steve your customers are highly skilled motorheads .

This man is a wizard!! Steve you have no idea how much knowledge your sharing. Thank you so much for doing this.
It was a Dewy dino approved day. He still looking for his SMX for the Wagon Dad

Good for you man, you’re going to love it! I have an F1A and an F1A-94. Are you going EFI or carburetor?
This engine is a beast. The sound and roll on response this one is going to be a hand full to keep the tires planted.
Mr Steve that dyno session was Dewy approved. 😊😊😊🐶🐶
I remember back in the days when we made several trips to the boat ramp to setup a engine. 😊
Brilliant work Steve. Always a learning experience.
Came for the incredible engine builds and content... Stayed for the dog 😂😂
Same Here 🤣! Dewey Is The Coolest Shop Dog Out There 👌🏿.
Dynodogdewey is the best def the big star of the operation
Sweet, Nothing wrong with having a short dyno session to get a base tune set in it and Hitting target HP .well done Steve
Thanks

Steve, yes what you have to say is always super interesting. But, it's always nice to see Dewey supervising.
Great build and tune…pump gas low boost plus great HP. For a long lasting build.
I swear, every time I see Dewey he reminds me of Santa’s little helper on the Simpsons.
Dewey quicky became everybody's favorite. He's now famous on the Tube! Go Dewey!

Nice piece Steve. Perfect for my pickup.
Very cool! Nice looking hp / torque graphs. Thanks for sharing.
Good information...and always enjoy seeing Dewy

Great content thanks for sharing
Only doubling atmospheric pressure and making 1250 with a 540 is pretty damn good. If he can most of that to the ground it'll be fun for sure.
Duey tuned! Sounds great! What a ripper!!!

A video showing why steve is in such high demand. Grade A customer service. People pay for service like that.
Appreciate the step by step.
Smooth power!
it's always crazy in my mind seeing how quick the throttle response is on a high performance rig vs my stock 5.3 vortec

Today on Steve Morris's high performance engine lessons in excellence.....
Thanks
Could not agree more! 🙂

Awesome work mate. The tips and tricks are great
Love the educational videos Steve!
Please keep them up
😁
Dewey-“I heard you say dog. Huh, dog, what?!!!”
Great video.. what's the redline for this package...I like the big blocks low boost builds ....whats the gross weight of the engine?
That customer is a cool dude.
1. It starts YES
2. It revs up YES
3. Will it go under load? YES
4. Will approve? UNKNOWN - GIVE BONE and RETEST
😂
Steve, drag all the way left and split screen with the screen of your choice😉
Does Dewey have a merch shirt? Like “Dewey does it” or him howling the word boooosstt? Love this week content
😂🤔

Steve recently had a vid where the crank trigger was sparking due to crank snout deflection.
Happy Easter 🐰

Can you do a video on the difference on a solid roller cam VS a hydrologic roller cam? I don’t know if you have one in the Steve tech tips
I have not yet

Dewy is so cool. The collar and his colors remind me of Scooby.

Steve in video is OK, Dewey is a MUST more power for Dewey
So even thought you're using a HUGE intercooler for the dyno session, no timing changes are needed if he uses a smaller intercooler?
Love content like this ! Do ÿou ever mess with HP Tuners?! I need a mentor 😅
Well Hell Yeah we gotta see Dewey.
We need a Dewey t-shirt.... maybe looking longingly at the new rear-end with the caption: "That girl is THICC!!!" 😅
My head hurts Steve stop teaching me stuff.
the best of the best water beast👍🏻
I only liked this video because he showed the dog!! love all your tech tips but the dog is awesome!!!!!!
Love it❤ I do learn a lot of stuff off of you
Dewy is looking like Scooby-Doo with that collar 😂😂❤. Everyone love's Steve but we love dewy too lol
Awesome service.
Awesome job brother.
I think Dewey needs a shirt
Coming
Dewey!!!
Is there a difference reading spark plugs for alcohol E85 etc or is that already in a video y’all done?
That “how dare you” decal though! 😂😅
Is 32 degrees of timing at 14 psi safe on 91 octane with this engine combo running at full operating temp on a warm day? Do you use a knock sensor for pump gas tuning?
1200+ hp holy smokes. I'd love a 434sbc with 500hp that could go for 200k miles
18:57 make a dedicated playlist for sparkplug analysis videos
@5:40 do you order your hearing protection in bra cup sizes? Those have got to be a healthy C cup
Another great video 😊😊😊
Hey you guys have a badass weekend bros
Master of metallurgy, Steve!
DEEWWWEEEEYYYY!!
