You are wrong. Scripture is clear, you have to obey the authority. The authority did not stop you from worship the Father. They stop the gathering for health reasons.
Because of their disobedience to the Father, they brought judgement on themselves.
Rom 13:1 Let every being be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from Elohim, and the authorities that exist are appointed by Elohim.
Rom 13:2 So he who opposes the authority withstands the institution of Elohim, and those who withstand shall bring judgment on themselves.
      Here is your second witness:
Tit 3:1 Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work,
      and third witness:
1Pe 2:13 Be subject to every institution of man because of the Master, whether to the sovereign as supreme,

@AntiCap Atheist Christians obey Romans 13 when the government is in its lawful jurisdiction to uphold righteousness, punishing evil doers and rewarding those who do good. The covid bylaws interfere with Gods command for us to meet publicly for worship. Biblically, government was introduced to protect the God given rights of humans when there was murder of theft done to a human. When government infringes upon those rights we have the right to resist and make inquiry about their democratic duties, their job is to protect our rights and not take them away in the name of "safety".

    • @John5TwentyFour
      @John5TwentyFour 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

@AntiCap Atheist Just because a government like Rome was barbaric, Romans 13 still commands us to obey government to a certain point (pay taxes, honor the king), but there were areas where Christians clearly disobeyed government, like in refusing to offer incense to the Emperor. This does not contradict the command in chapter 13. We are to obey government and live peaceably with all until their laws dictate our worship or force us to do something sinful. (See Daniel 3) (Acts 4)

@@darknappster7822 You don't get it, we can only disobey the authorities if it is against Torah. If people live in fear their relationship with their Maker is not good.
Even if things seem wrong to you, if our Father says obey, you better obey.
I don't know, but you probably know that the Yahudim/Jews were exiled to Babylon. A pagan nation with a pagan ruler. Yahuah said obey the authority and if they don't....:
Jer 27:6 ‘And now, I have given all these lands into the hand of Neḇuḵaḏnetstsar the sovereign of Baḇel, My servant. And the beasts of the field I have also given him to serve him.
Jer 27:7 ‘And all nations shall serve him and his son and his son’s son, until the time of his land comes. And then many nations and great sovereigns shall make him serve them.
Jer 27:8 ‘And it shall be, the nation and reign that do not serve Neḇuḵaḏnetstsar the sovereign of Baḇel, and the one that does not put its neck under the yoke of the sovereign of Baḇel, that nation I shall punish,’ declares יהוה, ‘with the sword, and the scarcity of food, and the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.
Jer 27:9 ‘So do not listen to your prophets, or to your diviners, or to your dreamers, or to your observers of clouds, or your sorcerers, who speak to you, saying, “Do not serve the sovereign of Baḇel.”
Do not listen to your pastors telling you to disobey the authority.
If you read Daniel 6, you will also learn that Daniel had to and did obey King Darius. But then the govenors weren't happy that the King blessed Daniel the way he did and wanted to get Daniel to fail. But they knew he would not disobey the king, but he will disobey if it goes against His Elohim.
Dan 6:4 Then the governors and viceroys sought to find occasion against Dani’ĕl concerning the reign. But they were unable to find occasion or corruption, because he was steadfast, and no negligence or corruption was found in him.
Dan 6:5 Then these men said, “We shall not find any occasion against this Dani’ĕl unless we find it against him concerning the law of his Elah.”
And this Daniel disobeyed, because it was against Yahuah's Torah:
Dan 6:7 “All the governors of the reign, the nobles and viceroys, the counsellors and advisors, have consulted together to establish a royal decree and to make a strong interdict, that whoever petitions any elah or man for thirty days, except you, O sovereign, is thrown into the den of lions.
And he was thrown in with the lions. And Yahuah protected him.
This is the word of Yahuah, you decide if you want to bring judgement on to yourselves:
Rom 13:1 Let every being be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from Elohim, and the authorities that exist are appointed by Elohim.
Rom 13:2 So he who opposes the authority withstands the institution of Elohim, and those who withstand shall bring judgment on themselves.

Also, "if you believe in God shouldn't life be more sacred than getting together in your clubhouse?" Sigh. We've fallen so far from the truth. Before COVID, did Christian Pastors ensure their churches met local Building Codes, charity tax receipt laws, etc.? Why?
Does the Bible allow us to ignore or reinterpret laws we don't like?
    Bible says:
Honour, pay taxes, and do not resist your righteous Kings and other higher powers; for God raised up and gave authority to them as the ordained ministers of God. If man’s law is unavoidably contrary to God’s Law, openly and publicly obey God’s Laws; and rejoice in any unjust persecution or martyrdom that you suffer for the greater glory of God.
Instead of defiance, Pastor & congregation need to innovate how to ensure compliance, yet find loop holes or alternatives so that great exploints for God can still be accomplished, the Gospel preached, and the flock tended.

@@raybruneski3931 Well, it is a large amount of small technical false facts, that make this entire video miss-leading.
      1. It didnt happen in Edmonton, but in the neighbouring city, otherwise he would be in EPS custody, and not RCMP
      2. He was never told to "shut it down", but to merely follow AHS regulations (facemasks/ social distancing.....)
      3. He wasnt technically arrested, but turned himself in (Yes there is a big difference)
      4. There wasnt a "secret trail', because his trail isnt scheduled till end of March (as per his lawyer)
      5. He is still being held not because of a 'secret trail'. but because technically he is in breach of his bail conditions
      6. Yes, the Canadian Charter gives us all these rights, but they omitted the part, that the Charter is subject to EHA and HPA.... as it is also stated in the Charter. Stating half facts/truths goes a little again my personal Christian values, even if these facts are debatable. Omitting just isn't right.
.... honestly, this list can go on and on.
Personally, i admire what Pastor James Coates has done for the community, the faith, and especially his passion. Watching this Video after watching his Lawyers half hour long interview, it makes me sad to see, that these two fellow Christians are the ones putting fear into peoples minds, by bending, not knowing, or omitting the facts of what actually happened. It is sad and disappointing. They probably didnt intend to do so, but posting videos comes with a certain set of responsibilities of due diligence of fact gathering, or a video might become miss-leading.

When the pandemic hit, Redeemer Bible Church stated that we would submit to our civil authorities, as Christians are called to do. We had to change our meeting style to comply with the guidelines. I think Pastor Coates initially did too, but then he changed his mind. Pastor Coates is not being persecuted for Christ: the government is treating him the same way that they treat would anyone else who has repeatedly violated a law, and after repeated violations with escalating consequences, he has eventually been arrested, and then he refused his bail terms (which were basically "agree to stop breaking the law"). If he chose, Pastor Coates could continue his ministry while following the public health ordinances about building capacity, social distancing, and masks. But instead Paster Coates has decided that the health ordinances do more harm than good and so he will not comply with them, and at his bail hearing he stated that he would continue to break the law and encourage others to do so; and therefore he is being held in jail until his trial. His disobedience would only be righteous if the law was wicked. Pastor Coates does not honor God by disobeying his civil authorities. He is not choosing to obey God instead of the civil authorities; he is choosing to follow his own changing intuition about the relative benefits of disease control vs socialization, instead of obeying the civil ordinances about disease control.

If government says you have to worship budda, are you going to? Scripture says you shouldn't Exodus 20. Acts 4(4:19); Acts 5(5:29); 1 Cor 9(9:16)
Apostles were told to stop preaching and they still did preach out of respect of what God command them to do. As they obeyed God not man. And then in 1 Cor 9:16(kjv) "For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!" Woe is God's severest chastened is reserved for unfaithful ministers. Then seen in James 3:1(kjv) "My Brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation."
Daniel 3- Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, didn't obey Nebuchadnezzar to worship him.
You should read Daniel 6, Daniel still prayed to God against the man's law because it violated God's law
We should obey government until it violates God's commandments and not until that law directly affects us.

What the enemy meant for evil God meant for good, the saving of many lives! May God save the men in prison with James through James

Thank you for being concerned for the church wherever it is. I am Canadian and this hits home. I know my family in BC, who are Christians, would agree with putting him in jail. Not sure how to handle that.

I would strongly argue that your family that thinks this ok may not be the Christians that they think they are. Gods word is very clear on how his church is to behave and fellowship. Scripture states 365 times (just coincidence I’m sure, note sarcasm) that we are to “fear not”. We are not to be stupid, but this “plandemic” is about government control not a virus. Early on, we didn’t know exactly what we were dealing with, but it has become painfully clear that this is political manipulation at its core. Pray for your family and show them the truth of a Gods word

They are believers; that is not helpful to just write them off that way. Many Christians in Canada hold the opinion that this is about public health. I understand that. We need to pray for the believers everywhere that are struggling, confused, not aware, or waiting. We are family.

@@mariaisaten Right, but they are not Christians if they put the government above God. Period. That's not to be rude to them, but that's simply the truth. If you put the government above God, you are so far from the Gospels that you are not a Christian. They need to come to God, God does not need to go to them.

I’m in BC Canada and am horrified by all this. As is my RCMP husband. He’d quit before arresting a pastor for this.
It’s very disheartening reading professing Christians agree with him being arrested. Critical thinking seems so rare these days.

@@mariaisaten It is about public health. What gives this pastor the right to facilitate the transmission of the virus and endanger other people? How many people will die or become ill because of his religious zealotry? Fortunately the virus has a low death rate. What if it was 10% or a mutation got to that level? What would you say then? Look at Israel where the religious zealots at 12.6% of the population have 28% of the cases in the country. Their zealotry is kiling them and others. We don't need or want that here. There are safer ways to preach to one's congregation.
