  • What the Gospel Is | Costi Hinn | The Gathering
Pastor Costi preaches a message on what the Gospel is NOT. The message is followed by a short live Q&A session about relationships, new believers, and repentance without hopelessness.
The Gospel is not yours to change.
    The Gospel is not remorse.
    The Gospel is not easy.
The Gospel is not living the American dream.
The Gospel is not good works.

Since the beginning of this year, my prayer has been this, "Lord God, I am willing to lay aside all preconceived ideas, notions, theology, misconceptions, and the doctrines I have learned in the past 47 years of my walk for the unadulterated truth of your Word". I have been involved in the NAR/WOF movement to some degree since day one, but something inwardly did not "feel just right". God is now introducing me to ministries such as Redeemer Bible Church and other apologetics whom I believe are preaching the true gospel. I will be confronting my pastors shortly and most likely will be leaving for a Bible-believing church. Thank you Pastor Hinn for your obedience and faithfulness to the Lord Jesus.

Kids you are so blessed to have this kind of leadership (three cord) at the end * we did not have this kind of preaching and accountability in our time. If we did, it would have saved so many from years of painful experiences of regret. Fortunately, there is no sin so great or big, that God is not even greater or bigger and can forgive. Repentance means turn around. Make a change. Sin looks great until its fruit is mature, death tastes quite bitter no matter what you put on it to flavor it, justify it, or cover it up.

very true on Catholicism - Guilt, Condemnation, Punishment, Self-inflicted suffering is the Crowning Achievement in that Religion. I have a friend of mine in NY who was a priest when I was in 6th grade. 50+ years ago - on a phone call the other day he said, I sure hope I did good enough - after all, he's done now into his 80s like Costi says nice guy ... when I told him - there was nothing more he could do that Jesus hadn't already done for him. Well, he hung up and continued his vow of suffering. Sad. Pray for him, Jesus can save - even hard cases.

To be honest I'm disappointed hearing a Sunday school teacher teaching not the full importance of the GOSPEL of JESUS as the most important key for advancing the kingdom. Yesterday when I heard someone says unlock the key like what I clearly understood was there's something in me that need to generate in order to succeed and my consciousness suddenly in automatic mode of responding heheeyyyy there's no special in me or in you that make you succeed in any kind of ministry. It is the GOSPEL OF JESUS WHO HELPS PEOPLE DRAWS TO HIM that even in my miniest part for that progress was his GRACE that sustaining me. I'm not listening this for an accident and thank you sir Costi. Truly Love w/o truths is dangerous.

If you have no connection of heart, you have no connection. Listen to wisdom * if you are not faithful prior to marriage (breaking trust w God, each other, parents) then it will not play out well, even if you do marry - because more than likely if you couldn't be trusted before, you will repeat the same in the marriage later, and that will be another level and another world of hurt and maybe jealous hate, that these men are trying to save you from a world of hurt. The key to this is not YOUR WILL be done, but rather WWJD - Christ will must be done. He must be at the center of every decision in life. If He is not honored, and the cornerstone, the relationship will crumble.

    THE GOSPEL
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. (Romans 1:16 NIV)
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8‭-‬9 NIV)
    But salvation produces good works...
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10 NIV)
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress (good works) and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world (holiness). (James 1:27 NIV)
TRUE RELIGION = GOOD WORKS + HOLINESS.

    • @lindajohnson4204
      @lindajohnson4204 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

"True religion" is to be the practice of saved people. It doesn't save us, but once saved, we're to live like that. It's like Jesus's teaching of the good Samaritan. He said, "Go and do likewise", but doing so does not save us. Because we have been saved, we want to obey Him (and Jesus's saying "go and do likewise" ought to shut the mouths of people who call _doing likewise,_ "socialism", even "communism", "humanism", "emotionalism" ("wallowing in your man-centered emotions") and so on , but strangely enough, it doesn't shut their mouths. They go on putting their politics above the words of Jesus, which in the judgment, just might prove that they are not saved, but obeying Jesus in that verse is not what saves us.
In our need of salvation, we've got to get there from here. The _gospel,_ the "good news" of salvation, is what God has given us to get us saved. We are saved by God's grace, which we do not earn or deserve, through faith in Jesus Christ. To become saved, we put our faith in Jesus, just like Jesus told Nicodemus in John 3:14,
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
In the verses in Exodus, where Moses lifts up the serpent, people were being bitten by serpents and dying. God had Moses to lift up a serpent so that the people could see it, and everyone who looked on the serpent was healed of their snakebites and lived. People who refused to look on the serpent, died of their snakebites. This was the event Jesus was referring to to explain how we can just put our faith in Jesus and be saved to eternal life. So obeying Jesus in things like "go and do likewise" the good Samaritan, is how we are to live after we're saved, but we are saved only by God's grace, acting through our faith in Jesus.

Look, brothers and sisters, sin is sin. The Gospel is the Gospel. And the Law is the Law. Benny's $ins don't make Costi's legalism right. You need the gifts of the Holy Spirit to walk in sanctification (holiness). Don't throw the baby (Jesus) out with the bathwater (false teachings).
Purge out all the leaven, brothers and sisters. Yes, rid yourselves of the excesses of the Pentecostal/Charismatic 20th century "experiment," but for heaven's sake, don't go back to the 1550's. Cessationist-Calvinism isn't the answer. Move forward, in all revelation and obedience to the Holy Spirit.

@@SquishyyyBeaner He's not preaching it, he's living it. Calvinism is nothing but bloodless Christianity. "but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live." (Romans 8:13). Note, it's not by repentance, it's not by doctrinal understanding, it's not even by the new birth, but by the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit. 800 billion sins of Charismania do not make Cessationism right. This is not to excuse sin, but blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is the one unforgivable sin. Cessationism is very wicked.

I know. They confuse Augustine's "doctrines of grace" with the Bible's true doctrine of grace, and they are not the same thing. The number of real scriptures that have to be set aside and ignored, or tortured by dishonest explanations, ought to be a major clue, a big red flag about Calvinism.
Because, for all the writing he did, Augustine didn't write any of the Bible at all. Nothing he wrote has the authority of the Bible, but he happened to come around just when the authority of the Bible was being downgraded, in favor of the authority of men, the magisterial authority of priests, bishops, cardinals. And for some reason, protestants fell into the trap of putting Augustines words on a level which allows them to ignore the Bible when it is contradicted by Augustine. So its Augustine's teaching of predestination all the way, which requires them to explain away every scripture that shows that Augustine and Calvin were wrong. It's weird, but people do this. The Bible does teach predestination and election, but it does not teach what Augustine"s doctrine teaches. Augustine actually changed his doctrine after 26 years of teaching what the Bible teaches, to something that is like what his Manichaean gnostics taught, and taught that the last 15 years of his life. He made this sweeping statement, that God predestined everything that would ever happen, including who would be saved and who would be lost. The Bible doesn't teach this anywhere! You would think that it would say to them that they shouldnt teach it, but apparently, attaching your wagon to Augustine's star is so rewarding that they just don't want to let it go. The Bible teaches predestination and election, but it is always the predestination of something specific, _never_ of everything that would ever happen., and especially not of who would be saved and who would remain lost. Paul in the Bible says that God "would have all men be saved, and come to a knowledge of the truth". It is a joy that God is like that, and wants each person saved, but in order to remain in agreement with Augustine, Calvin, and the rest of the Calvinist teachers, they simply attach "elect" to it, "all elect men", changing the meaning of the Bible verse to something that fits Calvinism, and means that God doesn't want all men saved. Peter: it is not His will "that any perish, but that all come to repentance". They change that to "all elect". You don't hear this one as often because it's harder to mess with it, but Jesus said, "it is not the will of the Father that one of these little ones perish". That is pretty plain; it's probably where Peter got his similar statement. Instead of rewriting it, they just suppress it, just like they do John 12:32, which they have no good answer for, but they just won't think about it. Its one of Jesus's greatest events and statements about going to the cross, but they wont even let Him say what He will do, contingent only on His going to the cross, about which there was never any doubt. Why they cling to Calvinism, and reject what even Jesus says, there is no good explanation for it. It is tragic, "weird", ancient, and mysterious.

This is sad to me, you quote a scripture that states that to teach a different doctrine then Paul was to be a cursed.
I will give you one example as to why I believe that to be hypocritical.
You believe as most do in three persons in one God and you water baptize in three of God’s titles.
You will never find Paul teaching or any of the Apostles teaching or preaching such a thing as that.
That doctrine of the false godhead and false water baptism was brought forth by the Roman Catholic Church and believed by most of her daughter churches.
It is not scriptural and is false and will not make a person a wise virgin.
    God Bless
