We got a demonstration pilot from Dassault Falcon to come on-board the Falcon 7x with us and give us an overview of this magnificent aircraft. We will be trying to get representatives from the manufactures of many of the products you see on this channel, to give us an overview of their products. Stay tuned!
"The Dassault Falcon 7X is a large-cabin, long range business jet manufactured by Dassault Aviation, the flagship offering of their business jet line. It was first presented to the public at the 2005 Paris Air Show.
It is the first fully fly-by-wire business jet.[7] It is also equipped with the same avionics suite, the Honeywell Primus EPIC "Enhanced Avionics System" (EASy), that was used on the Falcon 900EX and later on the Falcon 2000EX.
The Falcon 7X is notable for its extensive use of computer-aided design, the manufacturer claiming it to be the "first aircraft to be designed entirely on a virtual platform",[8] using Dassault Systemes' CATIA and PLM products.
It is also unusual in having an S-duct central engine, and is one of only two trijets currently in production, the other being the Dassault Falcon 900 (the Russian Tupolev Tu-154 is on a limited production run since 1998 as the Tu-154M). It was also the first production Falcon jet to offer winglets."

On the Falcon 7X, what's the highest altitude you can fly to have a cabin altitude of like 500 feet?

    Keep them coming trig!
    Really interesting plane and destinations.
Let me tell you the things I'd like to see:
    - Climb performance. Rate of climb MSL and in the high FL. Time to cruise altitude. Max alt direct from T/O both with light and heavy payloads.
    - Fuel system, fuel transfer, refueling, fuel rates at different altitudes
    - Short field performance
    - High elevation field performance
    - You talking about the physical sensations compared to other airplanes you have flown. Things that surprised you about the airplane.
    - Type rating, how long, how hard, things you'd like to have expanded on it, things that were missing, things you wished you knew before you did it. Advice for others going through the same process.
    - Performance above FL390. Winds/ FL trade Vs Mach speed.
And in general anything that's interesting from a pilot's perspective.
    Thanks!

Do the Falcon 8x and 7x can be flown by a Yoke instead of a joystick if requested?

You are very welcome!! We are going to be doing a lot of flying pretty soon, so much more aviation episodes coming up to go along with our travel episodes.

Great video. Thanks for taking the initiative in approaching pilots in order to sit in the cockpit. THis is some good intel via conversation. More videos on avionics and there correlation is needed.

It wouldn't surprise me that this aircraft has a low cabin altitude pressure at high altitudes as he says, the plane's fuselage is perfectly round, whereas many commercial aircraft's fuselages are oval shaped like the 707, 727 and 737.

If you wanted to do zero-g maneuvers in a new aircraft, say like in an astronaut training program, would the fly-by-wire system allow it?

    • @Jamenator1
      @Jamenator1 9 ปีที่แล้ว

yes, even in an a380, zero-g is available. In clean configuration, the FBW will even allow as much as -1G on the a380 (i assume it will be similar for the falcon 7X)

wow this is so educative as a rocket and airplane engineer i have fly by wire as my topic for today's class this video has explained everything I need to know before i even go to class. I will surely enjoy my class today pre-informed:). Thanks and all the best in 2015

I wish that Dassault would make less commercials and work more on the
reliabity issues. I fly this thing for a living and I think in many
aspects it is a big step back from the older Falcon 900... Cockpit is
noisy and unergonomical. Avionics are supposed to be top notch, but many things are missing or cheaply made... and then the hangups... Shame... after more 7 years in service many issues are still not fixed. If they would have listened more to the pilots than the sales&marketing team this could have been a brilliant airplane.

lucktoyo Do you still have a job flying the 7X? What exactly are the main issues with the aircraft that makes you dissatisfied with Dassault's adverts?
In what way is the 900 Falcon better than the 7X? 🤔mm☺

Funny you choose to use TH-cam to air your criticism, and many pilots who fly this aircraft love it. I suspect you are at best a troll, at worst a lower end Gulfstream employee.

I think it's all about redundancies. For example, the F-16 has a dual hydrolic system. If one fails, the other takes over. So to ME it's about redundancies, not about if it's electric or mechanical.

Fly by wire gives me the creeps. The folks at the factory can argue me into the ground but they had some control issues that grouded the aircraft. Was it due to code mixup or what. Let this wire thing fly for a while while they work out the bugs. Ten years and then maybe I will be on board.
