- An absolutely fitting end to Trojan international/Trojan motorsports/Ringwood raceway Ltd... Around 100 bangers didn't turn up who were "on the booking list"... allowing stolen cars to race and the absolute worst turn around time with 4 banger races in 6 hours! (wasn't like there was many cars to clear off the track) It may be the end for the promotion... but what about the track???...

I think there should be a rule for how old/rare the car you race should be as i love banger racing but some cars just shouldn't be raced even if it's on its last legs

Yep my Ford wagon was also the only one in the country!.. took me 4 months to get it imported from LA, registered and legal to use in the UK, only got about 2 months of pleasure from it before it got taken! Encouraging to see most supporters of this local 'sport' deploring the actions of a few whilst others at the meeting seemingly finding it all acceptable and somewhat amusing!!. Certainly not a good final day for Ringwood Raceway! Remains to be seen if the two drivers concerned will be prosecuted.. I won't hold my breath!!
Absolutely gutted for you mate. Hope you get the justice you deserve and everyone involved with the theft of your car gets locked up. Can't have lunatics running about stealing cars, let alone for them to then go and banger race them. Makes me feel sick.
The organisers need to be held responsible. No logos on the cars, no sponsors, no business promo. They couldn’t look more stolen if they tried.

Ringwood going out the way it lived it seems. This sort of thing will put the death of UK Oval racing into top gear. A shit show, overpriced with criminals (who I understand had already faced a lifetime ban for causing shit in the pits?) being allowed to race stolen machinery WITH prior warning to the promoters who did nothing about it. I personally have no issue with bangers, and know some good lads and lasses from it, but this kind of stuff cannot be allowed to exist and the promoters of other venues should be actively taking a stand. You're ruining it for the rest of us.
That being said, good video of the half show that arrived. Shame you had to pay through the nose for it. Ringwood as a venue deserved so much better
Fucking outrageous behaviour mate! Even driving them like they wanted them smashed and scrapped before the heat caught up to them. And whats this about them being banned!? All promoters should be putting posts out stating that those two are not welcome and are banned for life. Thats the best damage control they can do. Way to fuck it up for everyone else

Why would it put a death to oval racing specifically? I can guarantee the amount of stolen cars that have been raced in circuit racing and rallies over the years but no one gives a shit about that 🤷♂️ People just fuelling their own stereotypes about Banger Racers

As a classic American car owner for over 15 years, this has broken my heart. There are plenty of cars you can buy from auction sites for a couple hundred quid for shit like this, don't go stealing peoples pride and joy. And it's not all about the money, it's the love and care that goes into importing and owning vehicles like this. It's not like owning an Astra. These vehicles hold a truly special place in every owners heart, and these guys literally ripped it from their chest. Well done for destroying someone's dream of owning that one car.

I remember seeing the station wagon in Andover about 2 weeks before it was stolen. Proper shame, it was a lovely car
It was parked over the road from my truck that they stole 2 weeks before coming back to steal the station wagon, so I guess they spotted it when the stole mine and decided to come back for it!!
Now Ringwood will be remembered for allowing stolen car's too race it's a sad ending..😥

Very disappointing - even more so if the suggestion that the promoters knew the 2 cars were stolen but still allowed them to race is true. I've read elsewhere that the legitimate owners of both cars arrived with the police who seized the cars, but obviously too late to prevent them being raced & wrecked. To be hoped that the true identities of the cars - and therefore their last legal owners - can be confirmed, and then action taken against the bleeps who raced them knowing the truth (even if they didn't steal them themselves). Hope too that other banger racing promoters across the country are aware of what occurred at Ringwood yesterday and make sure stolen cars aren't allowed to race on their circuits.
I don't know the time frame between the cars getting there and ending up on track, but it was all over social media before they got on the track, and I for one can't understand how the message didn't get to the officials, if that's the case.

There was a lot of talk about these stolen cars around the area for a few months i think and audience,pit crew, the owners of the cars and some of the racers told the organizers they were stolen but they did nothing probably cause they know one racer was on a lifetime ban for causing trouble in the pits
But what are the chances that 2 stolen American cars both turn up at the same event painted the same colour and park next to one another!...yeeeeah they knew the legitimacy of those cars 🙄. Shocking stuff. And utter filthbags who knowingly raced and destroyed 2 peoples pride and joys.
All promoters should be putting posts out stating that those two thieves are not welcome FOREVER and are banned for life. Thats the best damage control they can do. This fucks it big time for everyone else. Not just the banger crews!
One of the drivers was on a life time ban i don't think the promotors really gave a shit and i hope they get sued or something happens as they knew there were stolen vehicles getting destroyed on there premise under there control and didn't care

They're going to be banned from every other race really like they caught banger racing on racing stolen cars they cannot race it any of the race tracks left
They should also add if they see their faces at any race give them a good punch upside their head

Let’s be honest.. ringwood been on its arse for a long time! The owner hasn’t a clue? So much potential! Taken a lot of money nothing invested. Less and less bookings.. hence it was ignored to let stolen cars race. Farewell meeting was to gain as much cash as possible.. probably to pay for all the security. My van got checked for people in the back in case I’m dodging entry fares. Yet stolen motors 👍🏻

Ah, there is the stolen Ford LTD estate and the Stolen Pontiac Grand Prix.. HUGE balls racing them in the vicinity of where they were stolen. Poor owners

It’s been a known fact for years that a couple of the teams raced stolen cars at ringwood, the police knew and the track knew and fuck all was done about it.
Matchams park used to be such an awesome place: Oval racing, longtrack bike racing, MX, Supercross, Go kart / Minimoto track and I even learned to ride my TY80 there when I was 8 years old. My cousin used to race Stock cars there in the 80s and I went there from the early 80s until about 2007 when the whole venue was a mess with bad facilities :( Such a pity it couldn't be run by a reputable company and saved. I went to Arlington last night and it showed that good tracks do still exist.
One of the driver is LIAM COOMBS, other is his Brother COOMBS also.
Now give me this event organizer info because they are responsible also for letting it happen.

They have come up before over stolen/rung road cars like escort mk1/mk2 etc guy had his car lifted after dealing with them

Any idea why the limo didn't make the track? I must say this was a disappointing send off, even ignoring the stolen cars the lack of drivers and formulas really set a downer on the meeting especially after paying over the odds for entry. The Saturday evening meeting was much better and cheaper, how does that work 😂

I love banger racing and it hurts me to see classic cars being destroyed. but if they are beyond economic repair then fine... but to see these two STOLLEN classics being STOLLEN and wrecked makes my blood boil... All cars should have proof of purchase before they race.. and stop the criminals from spoiling this motor sport!!!
You literally can't get a proof of ownership for some cars, even if they've been acquired legally
If you can't afford to buy the cars then don't do the sport simple how you can steal someone's pride and joy and enjoy smashing it up just goes to show you what type of people they are.

Nothing new though is it, I raced for a few seasons in the late 90's and cars were getting pinched and raced then. I remember one driver getting his Mk2 estate road car knicked and whoever raced it didn't even bother painting it or taking the roof rails off to race it. I jacked it in when taking drugs in the pits before a race became a thing and one drivers goon mate was in the pits with a handgun tucked in the waistband of his jeans. Too many wrong'uns in the sport I'm afraid.

The promoters should be heavily fined for letting them race knowing they are stolen vehicles and drivers on a lifetime ban, it's shit shows like this that knacker it for other tracks and drivers, hopefully the police seized there trucks and will crush them.👍
To be hoped that the police have visited (raided?) their yards / places of work / homes etc. to look for further evidence to confirm the identity of these 2 stolen cars, and possibly to look to see if other potentially stolen vehicles are also there, waiting to be raced / wrecked too. They need to be driven (no pun intended) out of oval motorsport for life, not to mention prosecuted for (at least) handling stolen property - they clearly knew the cars were stolen.

Let's see restoritive justice here. Ensure that the vermionous thieves that stole and destroyed the pride and joy of innocent owners have their property and belongings seized, that will in some way recompense the victims in full.

I did some time at Essex arena, nobody were saints…. Being a proud owner of a yank and knowing how much effort , time and money goes into this hobby.
That car was a piece of art. The glass, interior etc were probably fly tipped…. Just for 2 or 3 laps!

What's your stance towards historic rallying and historic circuit racing? Ultimately the industry for classics being raced is absolutely massive
