The sock drawer was a great idea! I just did that recently. My husband and I just bought a house. I ended up moving single socks that will never its buddy anymore and socks that had a hole in one of the pairs or near holes so I never wore them anymore. Now my sock drawer looks so great!
If you have socks all the same colour and 1 sock gets a hole in that you can't repair you will always have another sock to go with any lonely ones. Me and my partner have the same size feet so we share socks. Some thick socks for winter and thin ones for summer.
@@samanthahardy9903 I totally have several pairs of the same socks!!! It makes laundry folding sooo easy. If one gets a hole, I just wait until a second and then I'll deal with both at the same time.
When I reach the bottom of my shampoo or conditioner bottles I usually add a tiny bit of water. It helps me use up the entire product and I’ve cleaned the bottle for recycling as well.😊

I prayed my way through, thinking some days I could barely hang in there, but God had mercy on me, and my son, still struggle some days, but your video was a joy to watch!

Family favorite - "match the socks". my daughter with six kids has a whole washing basket full. I only had enough christmas energy left to color code them.. :) i did go through my makeup and socks too while listening to you. i am 50something and realised i still had makeup that could be older than you Sarah! I dont use it much either so down the list of things to clear out... Thanks for the motivation. I have signed up for the monthly makeover which i will find less overwhelming than trying to work through everything at once..
Great when you can declutter and help. I gave away a box of books to my son’s school recently. They were put up for sale for a gold coin donation at the school. The boys also raised money for a literacy fund/charity by washing cars, and various activities that they set up and then other students came to their stalls and bought food or played games and spent money.

Decluttering digital files and emails is a great thing to do when I'm killing time. Last time my drive glitched and discouraged me, but I should pick it up again. 😊
Idk about her, but I have alot of make up products due to having a beauty box subscription. Alot of which I dont use or dont like. I keep it bc I have two little girls and they are just getting old enough to be interested in wearing a little bit of lippy or something every once in awhile and we use some very colorful eye shadow pallets I've gotten that I would never wear we save and have uh used them on halloween or on school spirit week where they do different themed days.
I had already decluttered my socks and digital(long way to go but made progress). But then you challenged us to declutter 5 books and that is like asking me to cut off my right arm! I immediately stopped the video and went to find five books! I did it! Thanks for that! I've gone through my books about 4 times. The first time I got rid of 4 boxes worth. Now I'm down to the ones I'm not sure about so I'm actually reading them to see if I still want them. So far I read a few, I really appreciate and will keep and re read later. But I was so exited when I was reading a book and wanted to look up some information in it and I ended up coming across a free digital version of the book so I could declutter it. Strange how I'm reading books almost hoping I don't like it or it isn't relevant to me now...I'm an avid reader and just never read a book with that intention or hope before. But still enjoying the process.
I'm definitely a maximalist when it comes to books lol, though I do periodically go through them (I actually have several boxes of books I'm waiting to sell to a used bookstore when they're buying counter opens back up). Digital decluttering is something I need to do!

Just cut the bottom off your shampoo / conditioner / lotion bottles and finish up by scooping out with your fingers. No need to transfer to small containers.
That's what I do with toothpaste tubes! For the tougher plastics like the container I shared, that would be more difficult depending upon the tools one has.
Question please: What can I do with useable decluttered items that I'd like to donate but since here in No. Calif. where I live the donation centers are closed due to the current restrictions in my county. Also I live in a 1 bedroom apt. with limited room & No Garage. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
@@Awalsh147 The problem with that is I live in a locked security apt. bldg. & we are not allowed to put our belongings outside the main door. But thank you for your suggestion. I will have to maybe find a friend with a house who is willing to help me post so items could be picked up in front of their house on my behalf.
In my area, churches (particularly those serving poorer congregations) are still taking donations of clothes and household goods for their own use. I have a friend who is the daughter-in-law of a minister and she takes whatever I have.
I totally get it Lisbet! One of the things I threw away was at least 5 years old. Whoops! I know that some products are more problematic if they are older, such as mascara.

I cut mine in half and scoop out the rest in a little plastic container with a lid. Also this way it takes up less space in the trash 😅

For computer digital file storage I have a portable drive ( about $100 but worth the cost) to off load files from my laptop computer.
I did the same today with about 3000 more lip products! I tried them on. Too greasy, too smelly, too dark, too light, etc etc. So freeing!

How about cut the plastic shampoo bottle and scrape the remaining product into the cup?
I do that for soft plastic, such as for toothpaste tubes! For this type of material, it was easier for me not to cut into it.
