Really good video. Wish I’d watched it before trying to put mine together the first time. Goes together much easier now that we’ve done it quite a few times. one thing I learned from the video is the pump sucks as well as blows, which I’ll use next time we deflate the dinghy to stow it, which should make it much easier to get in the carry bag. The dinghy is really good too. Ours’ has a 5hp motor which works just fine with it.
Dang just got my Bris 12 footer and after getting the floors in it and inflated it to 3 psi my port side tube is leaking air some were, now to hunt for the leak. I aint going to lie but putting the floor in is a workout
Thanks for watching! The aluminum floor can be tricky the first time around. As you get used to it and as the dinghy stretches out it gets much easier.
So far so good. We have 2 Bris dinghies and even after being left outside for most of the summer and fall they're still in good shape and have not faded. Seams are good and still water tight.
lol i just watched this and thought I'm never going boating with this guy he'll get me killed by an oncoming boater lol.i haven't owned a boat in 20 years and still know 4 letters left = port lol
Oh yeah. We have 2 of them and take them out at least once a week. Still holding up very well. If you get one, I would recommend not getting an outboard smaller than 9.9HP.
@@HufflerGarage Good to hear. Yea, was going to at least get a 9.9HP or 15HP. How does yours manage with a 9.9? Im not looking for fast speeds, nor do I want to pudder around..lol..
@@cBelowH2O 5hp will get you 10-15mph I believe.......Biggest rated motor is 10hp......so that's better if you're loading 4 people or Lots of gear...... 10hp Can be dangerous on calm water, since they Really get moving! OMG SHOW ME THAT KEEL, SON! I watched the whole thing to see the keel, which they dont show on amazon. Clearly it has an inflatable keel but what else is down there?
just got one, took me 3 hours to set it up. wish the manual indicated which side is up for the 2 side bars. and the floor broad kind of heavy not sure its a good thing or bad. which motor do you recommend?
If you look at the side bars, they taper with the pontoons when they are the right side up. I would recommend getting at least a 9.9hp outboard. We have 6hp motors on ours and they are underpowered.
@@HufflerGarage 5hp should be PLENTY to go 15mph.........i think your motor has a problem or maybe prop angle is bad!.......10hp is the biggest motor you can run, and probably overkill unless you have 4 people loaded on it........I know guys with 6hp and doing 15mph on these.
They come with HIN number and papers.......which is all you need. BE careful with cheaper boats on ebay and amazon less than $800 range.......they usually can't be registered. But BRIS can be registered.
That's an unfortunate side effect of living in the city. Thankfully we have just recently purchased a much better audio setup so future videos should have much less background noise. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the video. Now I know to never purchase this. It’s very poorly designed. The floorboard section is extremely flawed. The seats can essentially pop off if the water is too hard. It seems like the rubber boat flooring under the floor boards inflate which makes it a hazard if it punctures and fills with water. Having the paddles snapping in means they can snap out, not too mad too. They’re about short. Anyone under 5’8” maybe even 6’ won’t have arms long enough to comfortably use them. Not having a safety road completely around makes no sense as if someone falls off near the front they have nothing really to grab to help get them back in. The boat has a very bad design and I wouldn’t pay more then $300 for it. Heck the $500 boat from Costco is better then this.

I must say, it takes a bold man to open an inflatable dinghy box with an open blade! :)
I was thinking the same thing.

You get what you pay for and by this video these boats are extremely cheap (not money, quality) they’re very poorly designed.
The other starboard side. Lol
Thanks for making the video, and not fast forwarding the whole process. I really have a good idea about aluminum floor now.

Cool video, what do you like about this Bris compared to your Tobin? What do you like about the Tobin?
I enjoyed your video, how is the boat holding up ? How are the seams holding up? Is the boat still water tight?

It seems like going through all that each time you go to the boat ramp would get old in a hurry!
So...did ya ever figure out which side is "starboard?" I think I'd use my shopvac to blow it up the first time.

Not sure if you're ready for the mysteries that exist beneath the deck.
It's an inflatable tube. Not a whole lot extra to see.
Can you put two dogs in here? I have two labradoodles just wondering if the material is strong enough for them to put paws on them without puncturing?
The material is pretty strong. It would take a very heavy dog with very sharp claws to puncture it.

Can this boat get registered!??
If yes ,does the needed documents for registration come with it ??
Thank you for your efforts..🙏
Yes it can! It comes with the manufacturer's statement of origin, which, at least here in NC, is all that was required to get it registered.

@@HufflerGaragewhere were these papers? I didn’t see them in the box when you opened it or when I opened mine.
You made it harder by putting Air in the keel that’s why the floor keeps popping up leave the keel to last
What size outboard can the dinghy support? Also what's capacity of people it'll hold
This one is rated up to a 10 HP outboard and 500 kgs (4 adults).
Starboard is the right side not the left.
Do you think one of the boat canopy tents would fit on it it has little hook style clips
They make ones that fit. We plan on finding one to buy when winter comes back around.
