  • Melee is probably the most original type of combat. Throughout history, armies develop ever more effective close combat weapons. In surprising experiments, weapons experts test the physical and psychological impact of the three most important melee developments of our time. The Roman short sword and the medieval war hammer aim most severe damages. But bayonets rely on the deterrent effect. An Exoskeleton gives superpowers to the soldier of the future. The future soldier - half man, half machine?

Regarding the comments about armour and weight, round about 22 minutes in; its not so much the weight of armour that's the issue. it's the HEAT problem. Your body goes into metabolic overdrive in combat, and generates a LOT of heat. The more amour you have, the less this heat is able to dissipate. Which adds to your overall fatigue and can in some cases lead to something very much like heat stroke.

A time when no humans on the battlefield. War is changing. We know from history that humans have certin traits that renders our species as doomed. We kill and destroy at will. Our brain has not evolved to a place of enlightenment. I don't know if that's even possible. I know nothing about anything really. My existence in this reality is confusing. I've probably spent most of my life asking questions about what is it all about. The unfairness of life for so many, war's, hunger, disasters, you name it we've had it. Still none the wiser. Only thing left, hope. ☘️✌️
