wouldnt the line "by damage from this attack" stop you from taking extra prizes? because youre not using the attack, youre using inspirational challenge. if we're getting round cavern tackle's con of not using it consecutively because of the line "if 1 of your pokemon *used cavern tackle*" by saying we didnt use cavern tackle, wouldnt the same rule apply for using critical bite?
@@cosmicthistle4269 In this case I believe "this attack" would apply to Inspirational Challenge. Inspirational Challenge reads "Choose one of its attacks and use it as this attack." The stipulation on Critical Bite doesn't specifically name "Critical Bite" which means it just applies to the attack being used.
This deck definitely has potential but would a more aggressive build with 4 kyurem be better? Having to discard all your energy doesn’t harm you in the same way like it does with drago. I know that manaphy would be a problem but there are ways to get around that for sure
For consistency, you should run the Colress's Tenacity, gets you the Stadium and an Energy. It seems you're lacking energy search especially since Xatu needs energy to power your attacker and to be your draw engine. Maybe trade out some Capturing Aromas? You have Hyper Aroma y'know? I'm no expert, but if you depend on energy for draw and a stadium to attack, Colress's Tenacity may be a good card for this deck. There's also Ciphermaniac's Codebreaking.
This deck looks like a lot of fun! I wonder what other combos could work well with the slowking, maybe some instant KO pokemon like Kingambit or Haxorus? And maybe Alakazam from Twilight with a froslass build
Okay so, I am really interested and actually think this deck has potential. I'm not sure having Liepards as Opposed to Kirlia really changes much. Kirlia has 1 more retreat and 20 less HP. In practice I can only see that mattering VS decks that can Moonlight Shuriken. I'd say Kyurem is more of the threat now in drago, and that KOs Liepard anyways. The upside of using Kirlia is gaining access to Gardevoir ex's ability, which would really help this deck in some of the situations it will find itself in. I would also consider another attacker of some kind instead of one Terrakion. Theres a LOT of options so it will take time to optimize this deck.
Another card that could be added is mamoswine from astral I think, it does 170 and your opponent can’t attack next turn, it’s a worse effect than terrakon but it can 2 shot stage 2 ex and is a stage 2 itself so more chances of opening slowpoke.
@@hiddenmosaic I guess it’s more around timing. You’re fairly low HP across the bench so you’re wide open to Greninja, Sableye and Kyurem taking multiple prizes in the early game before they gust up the Gardi to take the last two. Plus Iron Hands taking 3 prizes against a Gardi will hurt and you’re never 1 shotting back I do see the argument though and you’d use it situationally in certain games… but I guess the plan was always to keep yourself as a 1 prizer at all times.
@@huwbebb I'm not scared of sableye when I play a Kyurem in my own deck. Radiant greninja is only really used to attack in lost box variants and Cpao. In which I can just simply not use the gardevoir. I'm only on one of them in my build, its a last resort more than anything. Also, Regidrago is the only relevant Kyurem matchup, in which most builds of it dont even play something that can one shot a Gardevoir ex anyways. I think the upside of being able to bail myself out when I mightve been unable to attack at all is higher than the low risk it brings, especially when I can choose to not use it.
I like the idea of cyllene in this deck, if youre low on pokemon or have nothing else in your hand you can put pokemon from the discard pile right on top for slowking
Played this at a local casual tournament with 20 people and finished 3rd with a 2-0-1 record. hello azul, i was very fan of playing inteleon urshifu rapid strike, i can't find another deck that gives me that satisfaction and fun (and winning :P ) what do you think is the most similar deck nowadays? thanks and hi from chile ^^
you can’t technically chain cavern tackle as if you’re using an attack from another pokémon you’re copying all effects and requirements. Also Slowking’s attacks says “use it as this attack” so you’re not using slowking’s attack but terrakion’s, so you cannot chain it
Playing a Gardevoir Variant using a basic gardevoir core and their basic attackers. Slowbro runs well in it. Munki Dori to move damage maxing out at 360 before tools and abilities while copying driftloon as Slowking. Even then without munkidori is free
I've been labbing the deck for the past several days. Obviously onyx is a better choice as an attacker but by pairing it with gardevoir you get a resiliant and consistent deck
Genesect's attack says "This pokemon can't attack next turn." The effect applies to the pokemon. Terrakion's attack applies its effect to the attack used. So Genesect says, Mew can't attack. Terrakion says, Slowbro can't use Cavern Tackle. Slowbro doesn't use cavern tackle, so it doesn't care.
Genesect V's attack give the pokemon the effect that it cant attack again on the next turn. Cavern tackle states that a pokmeon cant use cavern tackle again, but slowkings attack is copying the effect, not declaring the cavern tackle attack, since the last attack was the slowkings Inspirational Challenge
