I hope u know how appreciated u are!...you are my favorite go to to either learn something new...like today, with the cables! Yah!.....or if I need a refresher......you are awesome to watch and very soothing...thank you from 🇨🇦
Thank you for leaving in the OOPS! My biggest anxiety (thanks perfectionist ultra-knitter mom) is times like these. Watching your video prepares me, so I dont give up
I appreciate the ‘mistakes’ being left in the video. More often than not, at least in my knitting journey, I’m constantly correcting my errors. This was a great learning experience watching this.
not sure if anyone gives a shit but if you're stoned like me atm then you can watch pretty much all the latest series on instaflixxer. I've been watching with my gf for the last couple of months :)
Just purchased the Blueberry colorway kit, could not resist. I'm a well experienced knitter and I love cables. Just the project I need after what I've been working on! Cables show up fine on camera, Staci. Thanks for the tip on where to pull the yarn from as I learned my something new for the day! I learn from you every time I watch your videos. Love this tip!
@@verypinkknits thanks! Blues are my favorite colors. Was looking for a cobalt blue but alas there was none to be had. Its all good though as the Blueberry is beautiful! How do we get a color card from them? I think I need one. ;)
Most yarn companies will send you color cards if you request them. They might cost a few bucks, but if you're really trying to match colors, they are helpful.
Staci thank u.. I've been looking for an elegant casual poncho pattern to create for myself.. it's taken quite some time since ev 1️ I've seen just wasn't quite it.. this 1 is!! thank u! and thank the company that sponsored u for sure (kudos to their design-Patterns by Kramer).. 👏👏👏💞💞
Thank you, I'm glad you like it. :) Stuff happens, right? With Julia Child as my video instruction heroine, I feel like I would be doing a disservice if my videos were edited to make it look like everything goes perfectly on the first try. They didn't always go perfectly for Julia Child, either! :)
I’m thinking about leaving live stitches on the first finish and picking up the side for the second and knit from there and then graft the two together. That’s just me and the way I would do it. The blocking will take care of itself. Thank you Stacy. Sometimes you just NEED to KNIT something for the sake of knitting. 😀❤️
Very pretty poncho! Love the cables! Your nail polish is so pretty! You usually put it in the description box below. I didn’t see it. Thanks for sharing this great poncho.
Love the pattern and the hint about the label direction. I've know about the label direction for years now and can't remember where that hint came from. Could have been you. Even with skeins like this, I pull from the outside. I have had the worst luck when I pull from the center and that's with following the label direction. I also work from the outside of any hanks I wind.
Yes, thank you for that tip! Ever since I learned the right direction (or which end) to pull the yarn from, I have had much better results! You can learn a whole lot from watching Staci’s videos, and their upbeat and positive, too!
Your advice on tightening up purl stitches after knit stitches is probably the best thing that has happened to my knitting!! I used to have really long running threads (is that what it’s called?) between my stitches and it looked terrible. Now I do it out of habit.
I love watching your videos on mattress stitch so watching this video was the best ..I am taking a break from do the last bits of getting ready for Christmas hub bub it is Christmas Eve thanks for the laugh,I will be doing this poncho it looks fun as I love to cable…Thanks Merry Christmas and the Best to you in the New Year please stay safe and healthy 🤶🏻🎉
Thanks for the tips. I always have a difference between knit and purl stitches in the row, now I know how to make the transition look great. And the stitching the pieces together, I am always trial an error. Thanks again.
about to start this as my first real knitting project! have been crocheting for a good few years and have recently gotten the basics of knitting (i think lol). with the combined experience of crochet garment knowledge transferring over (general construction, keeping track of stitches, etc) and this lovely tutorial, i'm excited to try (: here's hoping the general knowledge helps out XD seems like a pretty simple project that is doable, but has some fun bits to keep things interesting! ( i am not a tedium kinda guy, i cant stand crocheting flat panels with no color changes, no texture, whatever XD. need to make things entertaining to ctually make! and this looks fun!)
the yarn is spun woolen style. that's why you get a little untwist at the end of the ball. That's also why it's so warm, and why the cables are so pretty.
You purchased the pattern from Kraemer directly. You should instantly receive an email from them with the downloadable file. If you don't see it, you will need to contact Kraemer. They have excellent customer service.
@12:30. I too try to tighten up the join between purl and knit stitches. But I find it easier to make the purl stich after the knit, by bringing the yarn underneath the needle instead of over the top. This is a shorter sdistance, so automatically tightens the junction as you go. The only thing you then need to remember, is that this stich will be twisted when you come to knit it on the next row, so knit into the back of this stitch instead. But this is a quicker way round the problem, and works a treat!
I have decided that I will do other people’s patterns just so I don’t have to spend so much brain time designing for me 😄 I get too busy and I really need to be a little bit more product oriented, so even though I can design something like this (with my own cables and lace palette) for myself, I think I will have to do this kit. My only worry is in not having enough yarn to complete. I may want to use a 5.5 or 6 mm needles. I like closely knitted garments. I don’t like the cutting wind in autumn 😁
This video offered so much good advice: how to know from which direction one should pull yarn from a ball; from which end to pull roving yarn; what brand of cable needle (Brittany!) to use, etc., etc. Staci, thank you as always for my moment of Knitting Zen!
This is a gorgeous poncho! I do have a question, but not about the poncho or pattern. I was delighted to see those color swatches! How does one go about getting them?
I'm glad you like it! To answer your question - most yarn companies will send you color cards if you request them. They might cost a few bucks, but if you're really trying to match colors, they are helpful.
Ok weird question... Can I knit this with two balls of yarn on a long circular just like two socks at a time? Or do you think it would be too cumbersome? I first found you when learning from your Toe up two at a time videos 😊
Nope - doesn't matter, especially when you're working a flat piece like this. It can make the right/wrong side more confusing if you're knitting in a tube, but ultimately, it doesn't make a difference.
I always had mine in the front also until I watched her videos. I was always fighting the cable. When in back...you don’t. Give it a try...so much easier.

Loved the tip about where to pull the yarn from. And I’m also super appreciative that you leave in parts where you have difficulties. Thanks again!
Thank you for showing it with a light color. Looks very nice.
Omg perfect hint about how to figure out center pull THANK YOU
Thank you for this video! It’s more than just the poncho thanks to all the perfectly described how-tos as you went along. Awesome👍🏻

Thanks for the tip on keeping the purls tight. That is something that has been driving me nuts and I couldn't figure out how to fix it.
Very nicely explained. Thank you.

That yarn is named after the town I live in! I love their yarn I even took tour of their factory.
Thank you for all the tips you have given me helped me a lot but I need this Poncho pattern. Thank you

That poncho is beautiful. I have to work up to something like that, since I am a new knitter.

This is a close knit - I recommend using the gauge listed in the pattern.
I'm thinking about adapting this patten for a blanket but would need to do it without a seam and make it bigger.

Love Love love Ponchos! ❤❤❤
Thanks mam I will try thanks for this message ❤
Never knew that about which side to find the end of the yarn on. Thanks!
This poncho is exquisite! I don't knit though ☹ (its on my new hobbie list) but I do crochet, any similar crochet pattern you can recommend?
Hello! Thanks for the video. I’m in Switzerland. Where can I get the pattern and full tutorial considering that I’m a beginner?

What are the dimensions of the two rectangles?

It's a beautiful poncho I would love to make one but how many stitches did you cast for a full size poncho please reply
It's all in the pattern.
I love this poncho. Is there any way to purchase just the pattern?
Yes, on the Kraemer website you can buy just the pattern or the pattern in a kit with the yarn: patternsbykraemer.com/search?type=product&q=arrowhead
Looks easy. nice
Forgive my ignorance but I notice you bring your circular needle round back of your work. I’ve been bringing mine round front. Does this matter?

I was doing the same thing until i noticed Stacy bringing the needle around back. I tried it and i like it better!
some great tips, thanks
I have the written pattern and would like the chart pattern. How can I get a chart pattern?
What kind of steam iron do you use? As always, thank you for a wonderful tutorial!
It's nothing special...I ordered it from Amazon, I'm sure it was listed as "Amazon's Choice", which is how I often choose.
could this be knit in the round???
The color you made your poncho in is absolutely gorgeous!! What color is that? ❤️
Eggplant.
It's always strange hearing your name on Tv/ video.
I wonder if this could be finnagled into a blanket?
I have a quick question, Staci! The pattern doesn’t say to block the finished rectangles. Would you suggest we do so? Did you block yours? Thx!
I address this in the tutorial - if you're using the recommended yarn, I suggest wet blocking the finished rectangles before seaming.
I’m so sorry - I must’ve missed that! Mea culpa!!!
What happens if it splits when your higher up(almost finished) and it breaks do I have to start over? Or can I just bind off and continue.
You're asking about when you're seaming? Just pick up with new yarn where you left off. That is actually what I do in the video.
Can I buy the pattern without having to buy the kit
Yes, you can just follow the link to Ravelry (link in the video description field, and on my website).
I need this pattern please confirm where can I get it from .x
The pattern is available here: patternsbykraemer.com/products/arrowhead-poncho?_pos=1&_sid=9a157fbd4&_ss=r
Can you tell me if the pattern is available in PDF form, please? Thank you x
You can contact Kraemer for verification, but when you order the pattern on their website it is a PDF download, from my experience.

Thank you 4 sharing... I’m looking for a poncho/ stitches that are suitable for a man. Would this be suitable?
I think this would make a great poncho for a guy...I don't see anything too feminine about the stitches, I think it is appropriate for anyone.
VeryPink Knits Merci for your professional opinion.
👏💓💓💓🌹
How do you get the color cards?
Most yarn companies will send you color cards if you request them. They might cost a few bucks, but if you're really trying to match colors, they are helpful.
How wide should each panel be?
It's all in the pattern! Measurements for both sizes.
Thanks
