Hi everyone, Anja here, and welcome back to this Summer crochet poncho tutorial. The fun fact for this Pirate Cove Poncho is that we are not going to count stitches past the count of three. I hope you all enjoy this tutorial.

I really love this poncho. Hij draagt zo makkelijk en waait niet open zoals bij een sjaal. Het patroon is zo leuk en makkelijk te haken. Hoop hem in vele kleuren te maken. Dankje Anja

I never really like poncho because it will be to hot to wear where I live.
But this one is so versatile, I'm going to make one from a lighter yarn (bamboo yarn) as a present for my friend. She's a new mum and it will be great for her to use as cover up when she have to breasfeed in public.

sheetaltyagi4130 thank you, a tester is a larger lady and she made it the same size as my directions, it was just fine, but if you want to add some more chains to the required multiple, and do a few more rows it will come bigger, hope this helps, Anja x

How long would I make the chain for a size 8 or a small teenager size. This size would drown me

I always thought aran yarn was mixed with natural yarn such as wool though.

Yes dk would be fine but you may find you need more wool. I do blankets in dk when it says Aran
One question, in the video you say that you need 6 balls for the poncho; however the yarn pack with the three colors has only 5 balls of each color. Does this mean I need to get two yarn packs? Thank you.
This poncho was made with Aran, so not DK, the pictures represent the colours. We sell individual balls of Aran on our website so best to get that for the poncho. Hope this helps. Anja x

Not sure why, but after the first repeat, mine started curling and became a semi-circle. I have frogged three times.
I am doing something wrong, the poncho is wavy.
Could you possible have changed your tension, either by mood, or picked up the wrong hook at some point?!! Anja x
