I won't watch movies with real animal abuse or death, but I'm OK with what they did in "Raw." If that horse needed to be sedated for medical reasons, and there were trained professionals doing the work, I think it was clever to include it in the movie.
Similar, but I won't let ANY money go to the people who made them. Like I really liked the Italian cannibal movies of the 70s and early 80s, and Cannibal Holocaust was the first movie I ever torrented (illegally downloaded for free) because of the real animal abuse (I mean...I dunno if you've seen the movie but the only word for that giant sea turtle scene is torture). I just couldn't let a single penny of mine go to the people responsible for that.
@@markalexander3659 I know it well, but I refuse to watch it. I've seen some breakdowns about it, but I agree with you. People who do that are not getting any of my money. It's why I only buy cruelty-free products. Animals don't have to be tortured for me to wear smudge-free lipstick. It's ridiculous. Also, "Cannibal Holocaust" pulled off some really great special effects that people thought were real. If they were able to do that with the human actors, there was absolutely no reason to do anything real with animals.
@@Kristine_202 100% agree. They pulled off the human stuff so effectively, the director was arrested and charged with the murders of the cast (seriously) and he had to bring them all into court to show they were alive and well. No need to harm animals.
I was able to meet Kane Hodder at a burn survivor event as a teenager (3 years into my recovery) and he was such a dope and friendly individual! ❤ Answered all of our questions, took photos and shared a very motivational speech.
An interesting bit of trivia is that another performer to play Jason, Glenn Ennis, took the "longest on-screen burn" record for the cornfield rave scene in FREDDY vs. JASON.
The Exorcism of Emily Rose had a similar story to The Last Exorcism. Apparently when the director told Jennifer Carpenter what they were going to her character via CGI, she volunteered to do it herself in real life. Kudos to both actresses( and all the others) for going the extra mile or two.
My mum had a boss eye when she was a kid and had to wear a patch over one eye and glasses. After a year or so it cured it. She then had the best eye sight and only in recent years had to start wearing reading glasses. She's 79 now. Maybe Bill had a similar treatment...
@@6Jillybeans yeah, that’s usually the treatment. A patch over the good eye, to force the bad eye to actually work. Awesome that the patch fixed your mum’s! It’s a sonofabitch.
I remember hearing that Bill Harder had no idea about that, and got the shit scared out of him when Skarsgård just casually did it when they were talking between takes 😂
28 Days Later - Really?! People were asked to stop walking?... Wondering how many obscene gestures were thrown at the cast and crew as people walked on. BTW, very early morning hours, you get the same deserted effect in real life walking through usually very busy and crowded Times Square here in NYC. That's how they filmed that one scene in Vanilla Sky.
The Last Exorcism was not directed by Eli Roth, it was directed by Daniel Stamm. Roth was one of the producers. The Last Exorcist is a completely different movie that was directed by Robin Bain.
On the empty London in 28 Days Later. You can tell that most iconic landmarks are shot in the morning. Google Romes famous sights and you can see that very few of them are photographed in the middle of the day since it would be filled with tourists. :)
I door opened. A house settling a bit unlevel, the wind or even someone screwing with them could have done it. They didn't capture anything paranormal.
The Orphan First Kill one was VERY VERY obviously the case. The actress did not believably look like a little girl for one second. It constantly completely took me out of the film. A rare case where doing something with CGI would have been better.
I always wonder why demons like to contort a person's body when they possess it why not just use it as is and then when the devil is cast out the person shows no signs of broken bones just scares
I think the people who passed gave permission before they passed away, it's fine. In a weird way, if your corpse is credited - you get to be remembered in a way that you wouldn't otherwise.
John Carl Beuchler's last name is pronounced BEE-kler. I mean it's even on Wikipedia, so it's not like it's hard to look up. And stop mispronouncing Tobe Hooper's name. You know better than that.
How is a horse being sedated any issue? It was being sedated to have necessary veterinary work done. Would it be better if it were left unhealthy and maybe to die?
Phee-siegian? Not the WC being back to their old gimmick of mispronouncing a common word that even the novices in the language would not just for the sake of starting arguments in the comments and therefore increasing engagement.
@ericsilberstein667 sedated them in a medical facility, for a medical procedure? With education also occurring? Like happens in teaching hospitals every day?

I’m impressed Bill Skarsgard can control his lazy eye like that. Mine will cross independently, but I certainly can’t control it

The last one reminded me of that scene in “The Godfather”. That was a real horses head of one who already died from natural causes.
These days, nothing is impressive any more because CGI has become so prevalent that everyone just assumes all the stunts are CGI.
As soon as I saw the title I knew Kane Hodder would be first 💪 He is a beast !!!
@Stang2023 2nd ? Who is rhe first 🤔
@Stang2023 good, but not as good as kane 💯
Practical effects look better than CGI, almost always

"Use both your eyes!"
Daft question ,it’s the exorcist
The Last Exorcism was directed by Daniel Stamm, not Eli Roth.
The last "exorcism " want directed by Eli Roth.
00:58 I love the "When done well" was said with the remake "Nightmare On Elm Street"! 🤣 That movie was really bad.
There is no such thing as "real paranormal activity" the door was probably a prank by someone in the prop or FX department.
Apparently the makers of unrest hasn’t seen men behind the sun…..
"Real paranormal activity was shown on screen" 😂😂😂
And Tobe Hooper's name is pronounced TOW-BEE 🙄
Unrest: "The first horror film with real human bodies."
LOL! No.
men behind the sun was first if you don't count faces of death

Why? It was sedated properly, by trained veterinarians. It was already a scheduled procedure, so the horse likely needed a surgery done.
Why ? it got stoned for free, i have to pay for Ketamine.
