    l think that the no load current depends on the supply voltage and supply frequency and the mutual flux , that's right or what ?

    sir. why didn't we take v1= Im x Rc for calculating Rc value?

    Sir,
    How can we perform the open circuit and short circuit test of a three phase transformer?
    Should we connect only a single phase supply to one of the three phases of the transformer, carry out the test like a single phase transformer? Or do we supply all the three phases, use two wattmeter method to measure power and do some fancy calculations? Please help me out, I'm going nuts.

    Sir
    If I1 is so small that we neglect copper loss I1^2 r1 then Ic is smaller than I1. Why don't we neglect Core loss I^2 * rc then?
    This point is driving me crazy no matter how many books i search.

    • @ElectricalisEasy
      @ElectricalisEasy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the core losses are actually flux dependent, so ina way they are voltage and frequency dependent, that is why in the eqyivalent circuit and in numericals you will see the value of Rc is much much higher then r1 or r2, so that power loss cannot be neglected...this is why i ask to look numericals closely to get the feel of the values involved

      So the experimental result must contain copper loss also. Though at 5% of full load current. That loss will be current dependent. So resull will vary accordingly.

    how will Ammeter measure Im? wasn't it supposed to measure I1? As I1 branches out into Im and Ib.

    • @ElectricalisEasy
      @ElectricalisEasy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I use Im to represent the noload current sometimes, but let me check and get back to you...

    • @janu203
      @janu203 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No load current which passes through excitation branch is Im. In this case, only no load current exists as there is an open circuit at the load. Therefore I1=Im
