I remember seeing this in February of 1992 while on a flight from New York to Puerto Rico, I was 7 or 8 and my mom's fiance took us all on a trip to PR for a week. My hair as a little girl back then was pin straight and almost down to my ankles and my mom thought after seeing this movie that I'd look cute with curls. After our trip to Puerto Rico she took me to an expensive salon for a perm,I hated it so much that as soon as I got home I washed it and blow dried it straight with a hair dryer, lol. Funny the memories we associate movies with as kids. The 80s and 90s were great:)
That's so funny! I also had pin straight hair! Very pretty, thick, dark hair but I always wanted curly hair! When I saw this movie in the 90's I was 12! I remember thinking how beautiful this little girl was and how I wanted that curly hair! You're so right! Movie's and music bring back the most random memories! I watch them sometimes just for the nostalgia, especially when I'm feeling depressed, it helps brighten my mood.
Curly Sue WON "The Voice"!!!! I picked her to win, just by catching her audition, from surfing thru channels, cuz I never watch "The Voice". But I picked her to win and she WON!! What a set of pipes on her!!!
@@aspenrebel She is on this season 16 with mediocre country artists, and this season is the worst with her saving it. Please listen to her and vote on Monday's she can win like Alisan did to Adam!
@@assassindancer914 She who? I don't really watch "The Voice". I think I had stated that I had just been surfing thru channels when I happen to catch Alisan Porter's audition (back whenever). I just found out something very mind boggling about this film. One of the exec producers on the film, was none other than Mr. Steven Spielberg, which means this is the one and only film that he and John Hughes ever collaborated on in their respectful careers. I can’t hardly believe it myself.
@@Haerinx87 Zero? Zero?! I think not buster! People used to call me “curly Sue” as a kid. Our hair was really similar. For years I thought that it was just a nickname. Now I see it was just a 90’s film.

Such a sweet and beautiful movie in every way. Of course, there's a villain, but that's society for you. It's a must watch and a pretty good movie for all generation and any occasion. Watch it with the people you love...
This is a beautiful movie. John Hughes knew what he was doing. Probably from long hours of film but I never knew a kid could have bags under their eyes.
@@Wolk_Zaichev John Hughes originally planned to direct a film that went unrealized which featured John Candy and Sylvester Stallone as feuding neighbors. On a related note, the company that would've released it went on to have John Candy star in "Wagons East" where he died of a heart attack in his sleep before his remaining scenes can be completed.
Don't care about the reviews or how it did in the box office, this movie is great. Kelly Lynch deserves a lifetime achievement award for this movie bc her emotions and acting was spot on.
The trailer doesn't do it justice. It is funny, but also incredibly sweet and touching and the three main characters very lovable.

Executive producer is just a title.
Spielberg's contribution was zero.
Just his name on this film is a big deal next to John Hughes.
