So real lmao. I gave a whole explanation as to why the second question was "kinda a yes" for me. Before I realized I was literally being the embodiment of the first question.
Ironically: It depends. I, ironically again, do not use that answer nearly as much as I used to, if only for the sake of brevity. I will, however, start an answer with a caveat: *"Assuming you mean X when you say Y"* and rarely am mistaken on those assumptions. I also acquired a bunch of knowledge, experience, recognized patterns, and skills even, which allows me the full confidence of definitive statements, in specific areas. Best example is: _Will I support [Corporation] ever again?_ (E.G.: Wizards of the Coast, Games Workshop, Blizzard Entertainment, Ubisoft, Disney, Budweiser, Target... Sadly, the list goes on...) No. Never. No "it depends". No "If".
I was analyzing the first question "everything can be analysed". I routinely have difficulty with questionnaires about feelings, bodily issues, or how often something happens. I want to be very specific, but often times my answer falls between two answers.
Yes! My mom is an ENTJ. Growing up, she was difficult for having very high expectations and for being somewhat dismissive. But she also was inspiring, so self- disciplined and hard working. She expected me to keep up. It motivated me and helped me learn to take pride in accomplishment.
You are about the only person I've watched that talks about the 16 personalities and seems to really understand INTPs. So many other creators generalize us as overly geeky, disorganized slobs who are good at math, none of which are true of me. I'm a bit of a geek but only because I get deeply invested in specific things, genres and niche cultures. And yes, my best friend is the successful, sociable, cool-headed version of me, and he's an ENTJ.
This is great to hear! You often find that some creators understand particular types better than others, which would make sense. The INTP/ENTJ dynamic is an intriguing one since they're "shadow types" of each other ~ Nathan
@@larsthemartian9554 I have no clue if I analyze "everything" or enough to be a Ti dom. I do however notice I analyze stuff other people don't and people look at me weirdly if they find out I did.
I liked your response to the 2nd question. It makes me realise that someone's inferior function isn't necessarily something that they aren't aware of; you're actually constantly aware of both opposing functions during any given situation like a constant tug of war where only one side can win, leaving the other side dragged reluctantly behind (which is what creates the internal conflict and feeling of guilt you mentioned for neglecting that side of your personality)
After studying junguian psychology for years I realized Psychological/Personality Typology is a fraud. The cognitive functions are not "cognitive" nor "functions". Jung first introduced the "cognitive functions" in 1921. Back then medicine and brain study were basically absent, and when we talk about cognition we talk about neurology, and there is no correlation between neurology and junguian psychology. The term "function" gives the idea that there is a specific "function" inside your brain that that regulates some activity or behaviour. This is far from the truth. So, the term "cognitive function" is truly a misnomer. They are not a function and does not have anything to do with cognition. I prefer to call them "Psychic Analysis Frameworks", which reflects its real nature as analytical instruments. The notion and knowledge about those frameworks is extremely important and valid for self-development, but not if used as hierarchy to complement a typology system.
My husband is an Intp. Everything you said is accurate lol. I'm an Infj, so his extreme logical view on things irks me (sometimes i wonder if i married a robot), but he definitely challenges my way of thinking sometimes. Some of our best conversations are when we theorize about random things we're interested in. It's refreshing to hear someone so reasonable and rational in todays world, which is a huge reason why i love him. I feel like I can have a reasonable and genuine discussion with him. I was raised in a not so reasonable and rational household, so it took me by surprise that they exist when I met him. Though, and I say this with much love and respect, I think Intps are the dumb genius of the personality types. (My husband agreed with me on that, btw) 😂😂
#1 Everything can be analysed Everything should be analysed I do analyse everything Yes. Just asking the question "why" is more than enough proof. #2 When someone says something you intensely disagree with, do you fail to bite your tongue, hit them with why you think they're wrong. Then later, feel some guilt and worry about your social skills. Or, in your view, lack thereof. Yes. I've gotten better through the years by adopting Shoshin but the urge to jump on every opportunity never left. As per feeling guilty, I still do, to this day. #3 Intellectual variety and novelty New ideas generate excitement Yes. Whenever I get to read something that piques my interest, I somehow become "obsessed" with knowing as much about it... just for the sake of knowing. #4 Creature of habit, routine and comfort Yes. Chaos never sits well with me, aside from my room, lol. Despite numerous attempts to acclimate myself, encouraging myself that "change is constant", I am never comfortable with it. Besides, doing something repeatedly, I can better see the pattern and do something about it, until I get bored of it and then that's the time I will find something else. #5 Perform best in fast-paced high-pressure environments No. I need time to digest the influx of information I receive. Until I get a good grasp, conceptually, of how this new piece of information will fit in my head, then I will most likely get confused and look dumb. #6 Are you irked by forceful subjectivity? Yes. Especially if the subject's subjective nature is taken as objective fact, I will bypass what I have been practicing mentioned in #2. #7 Do you often wish you were more productive and organised? Yes. I remembered the time where I got obsessed with "GTD". I have read the books, I tried to put it into practise but I can never be consistent as any organization done within the phyisical realm is draining that I'd rather delegate it to someone who is more capable of implementing such, continue to grind it in my head until I fully grasp the idea and have made peace within myself and then move forward to the next thing. #8 Do you have a pathological need to know? Yes. I am restless when something doesn't fit within my head or challenges what I know of it.

I'm a classic INTP with autism. I've been getting into astrology the lately and I always thought it didn't make sense for me to be a Libra, because I am a hermit. But now I know that my more radical and cerebral side comes from my Aquarius moon, and my love of routine, comfort and my home comes from Taurus rising. I do have a Libran love of harmony, balance, solutions that benefit all parties, and of seeing all sides. And no, before you say it, it's not contradictory for an INTP to have an interest in spirituality, magic or astrology. A well developed INTP will eventually see the flaws and limitations of a materialist mindset and look for more universalising systems. Universalising philosophies open up entire new vistas of mysteries. This video is spot on btw.
Another INTP here. I'm into astrology too. At first, I was a classic atheist (because I'm an INTP 😉), but my mother works as an astrologer, and I got into it in my twenties (10 years ago). I believe I'm an INTP "because" of my 3rd house in Aquarius. I'm also a Libra, but my Sun is in the 11th House (= Aquarius, for non-astrologers 😉), so I love connecting with people-but only the special ones. :D My 6th House (= daily routines) is in Taurus, so I love being comfy. I'm relatively new to the 16 personalities, BUT I took the test in 2013, 2020, and now in 2024... and every time, I got INTP. I'm really surprised by how many comments under INTP videos describe my way of thinking.
is it weird for an intp to become religious? i kinda got into it in the past two years. my ex made fun of me saying „how could an intelligent person like you fall into this shit?“ honestly religion is the only thing we humans will never understand thoroughly and i think it brings me balance
@lilyluna4155 I have always been interested in religion, although I have come and gone multiple times from Christianity. I think the existence of God is logically implied. There are a lot of things in religion that are pretty stupid, but that doesn't mean you can be involved with religion if you appreciate the aspects of it that are reasonable.
Watching through the video, the analogy of magpies and shiny objects is hilariously accurate. A few weeks ago a macroeconomics lecture popped up in my TH-cam recommendations. Now, technically I have absolutely no reason to learn economics. I'm studying astronomy and physics, for goodness' sake. But I just _couldn't resist._ I dug up the whole course. I watched the fourth lecture last night and I'm gonna try the first problem set soon. Such is life. Edit: I can't be sure about the fifth one though. I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie when it comes to intellectual pursuits. Yes, I would be out of my depth in high-pressure environments like first responders and fistfights. But when it comes to high-pressure INTELLECTUAL environments, like timed quizzes or exams, I tend to do insanely well. I have Kahoot Magic. You can drop me in a random quiz with minimal warning, and I have a shot at winning purely through educated guesses. I have no clue how I do it. Everything else, I answered yes. 7.5/8, likely an INTP (But can you ever be sure though?)
Oh yes, according to reasonable assumptions! I am an INTP, and I, being a complete layman in physics, came to the exam and passed it with three I use this method. I am from Russia
INTPs and ESTJs are kind of similar, when you think about it. Both have dominant thinking functions, and Ne and Si are the middle functions for both, just in different order
Well the attribute are spectrum, but ESTJ that is almost the complete opposite. First you believe yourself to be extraverted... E so one of the most defining factor of introverted is a combination of lack of social batterie for social gathering...and the need of it. People who are introverted can be alone for a lot of time without feeling like the world is ending. They suffer very little from being by themselves. Not that they cannot be despress from being in a personal relationship. But they are generally not bother by spending a day or mutiple day alone. While most extraverted people are driven insane by the idea of staying home and not meeting with their friend of family. Being alone is mental torture for most of them and even if one might go through a phase or need some alone time, most extraverted feel more alive in a crowd of people, while introverted refuel their battery by being alone or with as few people as possible. I could be an entire week stuck at home, without speaking to anyone but my best friend on a day or 2 and I would be perfectly fine. S meaning you consider yourself driven only by your sense. Your have no taste for philosophy or the abstract. Most people who are sensing, not only dislike the abstract and philosophy but have a lot of difficulty understanding it. Their world make sense when something is said and base on concrete stuff. They have little patience for theory and endless possibilities of the unknown. While I would says its pretty something that define INTP to be interested in philosophy and endless possibilities and thinking outside of the box, and thinking about how things could be. J Judging types tend to be very proactive oriented. They are goal oriented and driven to their resolution. They do not stagnate nearly as much on the theory or perfecting the plan. If the Plan is very good that is enough. While INTP are very much known to be prone to analysis paralysis, they prospect and search for the optimal, the perfection in proceedure, the prospecting phase is also quite enthralling to INTP and sometimes much more fun and interesting than actually moving into action. The idea of spending a lot of time wondering how something could be done is actually more fun than doing it for most INTP. This obsession with analysis also makes us slightly better than other thinking type generally speaking at noticing inconsistency in logic, and trying to work and fix the problem. While many other type of people would probably go with it, and deal with the inconveniences at they arrive. INTP would probably prefer prospecting until all problem have been fix before they even arise.
It's unlikely that most of the series on the channel will be finished in video form. However, I'm happy to finish them in written form on the LW Patreon if people request a specific one! ~ Nathan
#5. I EXCELLED in the technical side of television/video production. Talk about fast paced and high pressure to react correctly with minimal time for reflection. But as an INTP (I answered yes to 8 of 8) I look back on that portion of my life (I'm retired) and see that I ALWAYS made time for an analytical and preparatory time before the chaos started. So, the Ti mastery of all the technology and system architecture was the basis for the Ne precision execution of every needed action in the chaos. I gloried in the adrenal rush and the joy of near perfection in every split second's response (vidoe is 30 or 60 frames per second). Every experienced technician in video production will tell you he can see a 1 frame error go by and normal speed. Believe it. We can and do (or is that just a skill I developed early on? Hmmm. More analysis needed here). As usual this presentation was spo on and very enjoyable to watch. (#8 in full bloom)
I love videos like this, let's see how much of an INTP I am as an ESTJ. 1. I think if it's important then it needs to be analyzed, but not everything needs to be analyzed or to the extent a high Ti user would want it to be, I'm going with disagree. 2. The first part yes, the second part no. Some people are going to hate me, and some people are going to like me, and either doesn't matter much to me. 3. Strong agree. 4. Agree. 5. I'm usually one of the first to respond in a group and I can think well under pressure so I'll say disagree. 6. Agree but for a different reason, I think everyone should have the right to have opinions on things without getting shamed, like someone shouldn't get hate for disliking a movie that everyone else likes, that's stupid, however, the objective truth IS the objective truth, and it can't be changed regardless of the subjective thoughts/feelings of myself or others, and to try would be an incredible waste of time. 7. Agree, but according to everyone I talk to I AM really productive and organized, and I'm more productive and organized than the people I live with, but there's always room for improvement, but I'll go with disagree because this is to see if I'm an INTP and compared to them I'm probably like a drill sergeant dad coming into their room with a white glove to check for dust. 8. Agreed to an extent, most of the things I have a need to know about, are things that will impact me in my daily life. I wouldn't care to know about how a magic trick is done, I actually find that disappointing because it gets rid of the illusion, I find it hard to enjoy those paranormal or glitch in the matrix videos, the idea of it is awesome, but I always think of how the creators are probably just editing these videos, and while it's cool and impressive, and it's great entertainment, just knowing that takes away from it, and with magic it'd be the same way. It seems the things I disagreed on leaned more into the Ti-Fe functions and the ones I agreed on leaned more into the Si-Ne functions, that makes perfect sense.
Love Who does excellent work! I know this was suppose to determine whether someone prefers INTP, but with the exception of an explanation on questions where Si and Se are mentioned, these questions align with anyone who dominates using Ti. Every confirmed ISTP like myself, will answer the questions most likely 100%.
I love this content! Love Who with the details and reasons! About question #2: My dad would often say, "Pick which hill you're willing to die on," meaning you can't and shouldn't argue about every little thing because it may become a fight to the death. It's a good analogy, isn't it? Even though it ends in a preposition. Before jumping into conflict, I ask myself if I'm ready to spend a lot of energy over this issue or not. Does it really matter if this person is wrong? They'll figure it out eventually, right? Do i have to be the one? Count the cost. Not only the upfront cost of the conflict, but the inevitable second- guessing and regret later. It might just not be worth it. But if you counted the cost and it is worth it, that'll make it easier. Yes, why regret sharing an important truth?
Wow! I loved this video! Please do one for each of the NJs. It's been four years and I still can't tell if I'm a people-focused INTJ, a results oriented ENFJ, or an over-visualising ENTJ. I relate to the struggles and strengths of each of the NJs. It's difficult!
If you've narrowed down to a point where you can't go any further, even if you don't know your exact type yet, that's totally fine. If thinking of yourself as an xNTJ is useful to you, that's what matters! ~ Nathan
@@lovewho How would you recommend understanding myself more? I relate to high usage of Ni, Fe, Ti, and Te (almost equally) and it seems like in any given social situation I use them all equally.
@@followingmyapostle have you also considered Fi dominant vs Te inferior? Fi as a dominant function does orient itself towards people (although internally and may not be shown the same way as Fe dominant yet it can feel similar on the inside) while Te as an inferior function can come across differently depending on one’s mental clarity. At times, particularly in stress, it comes strongly. Those two functions work together. Think of them as tandem. In order for one to work, you need the other. Ni is one of the functions that most career paths/theoretical school materials teach us to use - to question things, be inquisitive, not rush judgement, observe, … so it makes sense that most people “relate” to it since it is part of the content learned ‘how’ to be consumed. For most people, it is part of the nurture layer instead of the nature one. Consider Ne and Si instead of just Ni and Se. Ni needs independent idea consideration, gathering info individually and then gradually building a big picture narrative with elements vetted previously. Hope this helps somehow. The point I am making is not by trying to give you answers, but expand your circle of consideration to encompass all cognitive functions, break it into components, understand the nuances and elements, distinguish between learned things/skills and those that come naturally and then focus on the second part to clearly see your use of cognitive functions.
@@solarisan_ Thank you for the response. I didn't hear back from the Love Who TH-cam Channel. I am an ENTJ. I'm quite confident about that now. I have a good range of use for all of the cognitive functions. It's common for me to appear like other types depending not the situation, particularly when I'm using Fe, Se, or Ti. But yet, I'm still an ENTJ. I'm predisposed to Te-Ni patterns of thinking and that is where I feel most comfortable. Thank you for your help.
I was wondering what you meant by "forceful subjectivity". Everyone's definitions are slightly different, so getting on the same page about that before comparing yours to my experiences is important. I'd hate to waste thoughts and energy on a different question than the one intended to be asked. Then you said the infamous phrase "*their* truth". I launched my pen into the air out of fury and genuine lack of understanding why someone would ever say that. Yeah... I'm still an INTP.
I consistently tested as INTP my entire life, but something didn’t fit. While I create routines because I’m otherwise totally chaotic, I always change them up because I need the variety. I also thrive in high pressure, chaotic environments and enjoy a variety of systems that organize human behavioral patterns. I’m also pretty flamboyant in presentation. Because of my love of chaos within order I came conclusion I’m am ENTP although much of this INTP description resonates with me too.
Hahaha! Hi, dear. I'm an INTP, and I love your videos. This further proves that I'm an INTP. "Please remember to make more videos, especially on INTP."
1) Yes 2) Not really, I can just decide if it's not worth argument apriori. Only perhaps on brutally retaliating on relatives who subconsciously try to win a lost argument by ad hominem. There is part of me that wants to punish that behavior immediately, like a reflex and without mercy and other part wondering if it was worth it or whether I should have stoically ignored it. 3) Yes 4) Kind of, but I have some hobbies in physical realm that could be easily mistaken for ISTP. 5) I can do this in bursts. I have capacity to take leadership in uncertain circumstances and fog of war where less mentally flexible people struggle. It usually take some kind of nudge to switch from analysis to act now. One particular moment was a simulated combat situation where we became compromised and ESTP asked me to lead the team out of the situation, later commenting that he saw "my wheels in the head spinning" as I was quickly analyzing it and considering our options. Other times on sudden contact I was able to quickly deploy my team to effectively use terrain, found opening and single-handedly eliminated whole enemy squad. I work when STHF, I can often quickly get to the root cause or at least prioritize as I can detach take a cold-blooded look at it. Though I would burn out quickly if it was constant. 6) Yes, but worst is presenting own subjective opinions or values as objective facts and forcing them on others. Living in silly "own truth" is comparatively benign. 7) Yes 8) Yes
#2 and #5 differ for me, but I am an INFJ (with INTJ leanings). I decide when/if/how to deliver input (#2). Not all situations are equal. Don't always gift your opinions, and once you do then only feel badly if you really messed up. I also (surprise, surprise #5) actually like a high paced environment where I can really make a difference, but also like strategically or naturally occurring slower times. At work and in friendships or other situations. I recently requested Tuesday afternoons WFH for longer term/slower paced projects which were more strategic. Then (after my father passed about a week ago) I told my boss we should suspend that for a short period of time in order to make sure the more urgent things were taken care of while I was under the additional stress. Problem is that I do value the LT projects and so have been doing them also (with both types of projects being at a slower pace) and just taking lunches and vacation time to recover when I need to. But when I started in market driven product development I was shocked at how well it fit with my work personality to the extent that I had 2 similar jobs I could embrace which (after doing some decent research) were relatively equivalent long term. I told myself to sleep on it (likely INFJ?) then just go with my gut on which one I would prefer. The high paced creative one won hands down.
You should cover how different conditions effect the types like being a empath, introverted extrovert, autistic etc or other factors that might interfere or alter how functions operate
It seems to me that while INTPs are analythinc (breaking things up to smaller manageable pieces, then perhaps back), INFPs are more synthetic (combining unusual pieces together, creatively imaginative).
Whats funny is that I am quite sure I am INTP (partially because I relate most to them, partially by process of elimination of not relating to other types), yet on every one of these questions I second guessed myself.
If you doubt you analyze everything it's unlikely you are an INTP! Easy to be confused about what type you are. I thought I was an ENTP for years and years (I test on the line).
Could you please finish your series on the personality types as leaders, personality types rules of life, what all of the personalities think of each other?
It's unlikely that I'm going to finish that series in video form. Most likely, subsequent episodes of that series will appear in written form on the LoveWho Patreon ~ Nathan
with 6 I think it depends. I have learned that objectivity is an ever elusive thing. What seems objective today might not be objective tomorrow. My hypothesis is that if you are an INTP in contact with your Ne, subjectivity will tend to annoy you a lot less .
1: Agree mostly, don't NEED to analyze everything, for example, poop...do we NEED to analyze it? Not we don't lol. 2: I do bite my tongue when people say stupid or wrong things, sometimes I blast them but it takes a while, most times I bite my tongue cause I know exactly how it will go, they giving me a headache and it being a waste of time to try to fix their errors. Also there is a part to my mind that makes me submissive and not liking conflict. 3: Agree. 4: Agree mostly. The INTP side agrees, but being one who is also actually enlightened, I don't steer away from suffering as contentment is the enemy, ego loves contentment. So a little suffering here and there is healthy and logical. 5: I certainly don't like high pressure situations, however when in them I adapt quite well and can take charge if everyone is being a chicken with their head cut off lol. Doesn't happen very often and that's how I prefer. 6: Agree 1000%. 7: Ehh I don't think about being organized...my stuff is fairly organized on it's own without me putting much thought into it. That might be due to the routine and lack of caring about the physical world stuff though As for wishing I was more productive? On some things, but not all. Enlightenment might conflict with that as I'm also neutral and go with the flow. If someone says I'm lazy that is false, the current moment is simply not requiring the "me" character to do anything at that moment is all. 8: Yup, agree.
I found myself reflexively responding, “ But the whole point of the word ‘true ’ implies TRUE FOR EVERYONE because … logic…” then I realized I had, in fact, been driven nuts by slinging some subjectimy way. Drat.
Related to this so hard. As usual. And as for the ENTJ thing, hard agree. I definitely try to channel some of the ENTJs energy when I finally stop analyzing and take action.
It’s always interesting to compare types to their shadow (such as with INTPs and ENTJs). Often we need to embrace elements of our shadows to be our fully realised selves ~ Nathan
I'd would love it if these 8 question videos will be done for the other MBTI types!! I'm curious which one I'd connect to the most, given how I'm still heavily debating w/ myself what my MBTI is
I'm an infp and was curious how many I relate to We share 2 cognitive functions and can relate to not doing as much as I set out to and creature of habit and routine (child SI) which makes us so cat like
I agree with most of the questions, except #4: I like change; routine can be useful, but it's boring. I don't like fast, high-pressure environments, and I don't perform, relative to myself, best in those environments, but I become a very cold-blooded person in such situations, so I perform better than many others maybe, but still, I really don't like doing things in haste.
Hey, could you do an in-depth video about all cognitive functions? And how they work in each type? And what are friend/romatic compatibilities between types? It would be a long video, but could you do it?
sometimes i also regret giving in to other people's wrong opinion for the sake of Fe, i feel like ive mislead people. and 3:47 this is sooo true for me. i think ENTJ is the most badass type. i used to try so hard to be ENTJ for like 3 years or so before i gave up. its so exhausting and i think people hated me 🤣. side note: i felt so much more confidence and sexier as ENTJ.
im still having trouble with my mbti type. i mostly relate to the questions and to the intp personality type but i'm still not sure if im an intp or entp, this video helped but im still confused :) good video
Probably Te related? Also, INTPs tend to have more tactical plans than INTJs, which might have less flexible ones despite having more backups. Otherwise, I can't think of any more at the moment. -INTP
I would say I performed pretty well under high pressure fast pace but it's not perfect and usually I would regret some part of it. (It's not that st went wrong but it could be done better)lmao.
My score in this test is intriguingly high for an ISFJ. 6/8 Nobody would care about this, but I do point it out recalling how in a previous video a while ago about the common mistypes INTPs and ISFJs fall to that situation. Having common cognitive functions is not something we should underestimate. Especially if some people because of their upbringings, environment, or many other factors develop their "weaker" (according to MBTI typing) functions. As everything in life, it depends.
1. Yes 2. No 3. No 4. No, I dont think you should limit yourself with routine 5. Yes 6. Yes 7. No I kind of dont care 8. It honestly depends on what the thing is.
you know... routine is a bit of a strong word... I'm more like... a mess And OMG, YESSS I have envied people who seems very INTJ/ENTJ for their organization skills and the ability of getting things done, to the point I had to stop watching one colleague's Insta stories so I don't feel down watching her work, but after having a INTJ close friend and a ENTJ work colleague, I'd rather not be them, we're so opposite! But at least be functional and having a passion (even if the passion was earning money) would be nice...
for everything can be analyzed and everything is to much for a lifeform, especially myself, to be physically able to think and analyze about with my limited self :)
Or: "I may analyze anything, and as a first course of action. Superseding everything but my fight-flight-freeze-faun response which really likes yanking the cord, and I almost hate it..."
7/8... I'm an INFJ through and through, though 😅 maybe that's why I like INTPs so much, there's a lot of overlap between us, still the insane depth of logical thinking you can dive into at a moment's notice is something unattainable for me. Jealous af.
I analyze everything because everything has a process and a purpose. Its obviously the case but I can over do it and it can drive others insane. I think I wrote encyclopedias in my past life. I have to know about everything. It bothers me that I dont know.
After taking MANY tests, MANY times (you can never be sure) I am certainly an INTP. But, I tend to be more driven (like an INTJ), and more hands on (like an ISTP), without any of the other characteristics of those type. INTP by far fits me the best. A hybrid INTP that likes to get stuff done!!
How are you so sure? Ever heard of cognitive biases? Or the fact that most people type themselves upside down? Or the fact that these tests suck in general? Only an external observer can gauge you properly.
@@magatamass Very true. You can answer the questions as you would like to be, not as you are. Upside down?? Absolutely not! That would make an ESFJ, which is what my wife is. I am highly logical, always asking why, and quite clueless in the Fe department. No one says the tests are completely accurate. I assume most people aren't going to fit neatly in one of the MBTI boxes.
@@australiafair5926 I did PLENTY of that. The tests are just to get started. THEN learn the functions and types. WHY does anyone think an INTP wouldn't go off the deep end and learn everything they can about this??
@@davefengler4266 Well that is begging the question of whether you are an INTP (I'm not saying you're not, but you are begging the question). Plus your wording implies that you came to that conclusion by doing a lot of tests. You're right that it doesn't matter if you fit the type perfectly though. I am an INTP, but I can be quite a magical/religious/superstitious thinker. To me, these thought patterns aren't irrational, they are just grounded in things that either haven't been described by science yet, or which are inaccessible to science. And I can be quite outgoing & talkative at times. So I have wondered about ENTPness. But I am a true INTP. We are also all human with basic human drives. All people have a drive to bring their ideas into reality, to achieve goals, and to complete tasks. Most people are not a caricature.
#1 YES #2 Used to be Yes, but I learned mostly not to and it is very stressful not to do. #3 YES #4 NO- but YES. I want to be to a great degree but people keep messing with my routine. #5. Yes, but no. If I already know what needs to be done, how it needs to be done but can't find the will to force other people to comply, then it turning into a crisis can be helpful. I prefer to look at at thing, figure out what needs to be done and do it BEFORE it becomes a problem or in steps to alleviate the problem. #6 Oh my goodnes: YES YES YES!!! I was just irked again by it last night and everything people want to say about politics is exactly that kind of irksome- very little truth, lots of forced subjectivity. #7 YE-ES!! #8 Oh yeah! Even if I have no interest in the subject, other hand. It's one of the reasons I don't like being in relationships. They start acting odd. DIscontented. They won't tel you why, what they need. They'll make complaints that are invalid. "You are ignoring me." except if you don't give them space they complain that "You need to give me space!" and won't tell you how much space they need, why, or why that happened right after they changed their routine. Obviously, they are cheating on you but they won't say "I met someone I like better and Iwant to leave this relaitonship." They won't tell you why they are pulling away, why they left, nothing. Relationships end. That's fine. Especially when the person is pulling away because they found someone "better". Who wants them, then? But, the least the could do, out of kindness, is tell you and get it over quicker and more politely. DARN YOU. I was feeling all settled again, for a while. But, then it's not your fault I watched this video. The thing is, I keep thinking about Bauhaus. Bauhaus is something that interested me as a child. Though, I don't necessarily see it in the way some people do. They look at it as the antithesis of Art and Craft, which I also love. I look at it as the modernized version of Art and Craft .Either way, things are both useful and beautiful. Just a different kind of beautiful. I can't remember if that wasa INTJ or INTP I read really likes it. And, I don't know if that would mean that much, if I did remember, as I really like SOME of it but oopenly reject other parts.
It's not a guilt of being right. it's a guilt of bludgeoning them with the hammer of rightness, especially when it is not of current particular import except for your love of correctness. I find myself correcing people on their lies about poltiics, policiians and history and misleading them into thinking I care about politics when I do not. So, I try really hard not to. But, there are only so many lies one can scroll past before the truth jumps out and sllaps someone.
@arlettasloan6453 I am not sure if I am an intp, but every time I take the test, that's what I get. Regardless, I relate to this very closely. In most social situations, I hide my true thoughts in fear of conflict. However, with VERY close friends, I will occasionally open up debate and get just a bit too passionate about the logic behind certain opinions. This leads me to feel guilty because it is rare for me to deal with "conflict" in such a verbose way, and I'm not used to making people feel bad for not having as much to say about their side. I just love debating in a safe space and I don't know how to reign it in sometimes. Does this align with the INTP personality?
@@arlettasloan6453 Yes, sometimes I become very rude and a little bit disrespectful towards good people that love and respect me, just because they say stupid and illogical things, and then I regret as I think about this sad expression of their faces😂😂😭😭
I was curious to know how much of an INTP i am (i'm an INFP btw). 1. I think anything can be analyzed, but i don't analyze everything because i don't think there's a reason to do that. 2. I disagree. I just don't care. 3. YES!! 4. I guess?? I don't see myself as having a "routine", but i guess the fact i know when my day is missing something from its normalness, i guess i do have a tiny bit of routine in my mind. I do eat the same things everyday and wear VERY similar clothing, so i guess that counts as an "agree"? 5. Definitely no. 6. i 24/7 runs on Fi, my whole life is subjective. 7. Absolutely, but i'm working on it. 8. I do enjoy learning things bc yeah why not, and i do want to study Philosophy and Psychology more in the future, just bc i like those subjects, so it's clear i hold many values that correlates with these subjects. I got an 4/8 (or 3.5/8) on the "INTP scale".
0:34 also known as post yap clarity “why did I say that I talk too much?” 4:11 just yesterday my coworker asked me “do you just walk around knowing these things or what?” when I explained different time zones in different cities as a possible reason why we’d recieved communication at midnight and my answer was “yes. I like knowing things” In any case, I was starting to doubt if I was intp again so thanks for the video. Side note, the discord is actually a really interesting place to lurk on.
I really analysed the first 3 questions 😅 I think EVERYTHING is a strong word. I would feel more comfortable with "Most of the things" even tough I can t think of a thing that should not be analized. I don t know If EVERYTHING can be analysed and I don t think I can analyse everything. I just know I analyse a lot of things and I m not satisfied with vague concepts or conceiving information just for the sake of maintaining a sense of awe and wonder. People are sometimes satisfied with not knowing bc it makes them think in a sort of magic. But not me. I think that s willful ignorance.
I should say that it's still important to dig deeper if you haven't already! I've done a video comparing those types that might me worth checking out ~ Nathan
Gosh I HATED watching magic shows as a kid, because I just wanted to know how they did it, and then they wouldn't tell me, it made me so extremely upset.
I feel that. I dread to think of the frustration I would have experienced in the pre-internet age after seeing a great magic trick and not knowing how it was done! ~ Nathan
55 year old female INTP, married, with one adult child: 1) AGREE, 2) CONDITIONALLY YES (depends on the depth of my relationship with them), 3) YES, 4) YES, 5) FUNDAMENTALLY NO (I often perform better than many and can hit the ground, running when I must), 6) YES, 7) YES, 8) LMAO YES. Still on the fence about returning to that Discord server. Last year, I didn't care for the mindless moderation bot that couldn't deal with context.
Little hint from an INTP: That example at the end with the cardtrick is a bit missleading, cause a cardtrick for me is not really an intellectual stimulating thing but more of a technical demanding skill, so i would probably honor and respect the work and time you put into it, but would not waste time and energy on finding out the exact way its been done.
The subjective truth thing is definitely a thing they can learn to accept not because they actually believe the other persons truth but more so once they understand that certain things like belief are defined by the people who have them this makes them truths in the sense they only exist as long as people believe in them since there is no real answer to be associated with them any answer is technically just as good as the other so they become accepting of a sort of subjective truth.
This INTP rejects the ideas of subjective or individual truth. Beliefs and feelings are not truth. No one has their own truth. That's one of the stupidest ideas of the 21st century. We all live in the same truth.
That's only true about religion if you don't believe in it. Religion should have objective truth and it is very hard to accept the beliefs of people who do not demand objective truth or see that it doesn't work because ... I am religious. My religion has objective truth. Not everyone sees it that way, but that it makes logical sense - in enough parts to start with and more by study, later on- is why I believe it.
I did so much research and was quite settled into INFJ for a while. But, INFJ are feeling and mystic, and sure I can be those things, but my primary motivation is to get things done. Which implies organization and facts over feelings. "Cry, if you must, but keep working." but not out of cruelty.
Perhaps it can help to look into the principles of logic vs those of abstraction. Once you dive deep into this, you will know how you think. Facts and logic work differently to ideas and whole picture. The first one is more quantitive while the latter holistic and integrative. What they have in common is that both are theoretical. One is theoretical - rational, the other theoretical - intuitive.
@@solarisan_ I probably should do that actually. And thank you! I was wondering where INTP and INFJ differ in terms of theoretics, because I often see a lot of similarities between them.
for the 2nd one, I only say something when I strongly disagree when I know 1000% I am right... If there's a possibility I might be wrong, or someone question what I said and I have no proof or I am not 100% sure, then I don't say anything I can never be the wrong one (Ti working) lol I'd rather stay quiet (the Fe is trying to avoid conflict), but if I know I am right, I don't care about conflict (unless I see there's no use in arguing because the other person will never accept what I am saying) (editing after the 6th question: loool)
you know very well you are an intp when ur answer is :_ "it depends 🤔"
So real lmao. I gave a whole explanation as to why the second question was "kinda a yes" for me. Before I realized I was literally being the embodiment of the first question.
Or an INFJ ...
Odd ISFJ here with ENTP brother, but still "it depends" is our number 1 thing to say about everything.
Best example is:
_Will I support [Corporation] ever again?_ (E.G.: Wizards of the Coast, Games Workshop, Blizzard Entertainment, Ubisoft, Disney, Budweiser, Target... Sadly, the list goes on...)
No. Never. No "it depends". No "If".
Ironically, again, Patreon is on that list.
I was analyzing the first question "everything can be analysed". I routinely have difficulty with questionnaires about feelings, bodily issues, or how often something happens. I want to be very specific, but often times my answer falls between two answers.
The “romanticized ENTJ” thing is so accurate for me lol. I’m a writer, and I swear, every story I write involves at least one ENTJ character😭
Well only like 4% -5% of humans are us INTP's. So what are the odds that the content creators out there are one of them? Not high.
Who started analysing whether they actually analyse everything?
Yes.
Yeah, it really depends on what one means by 'everything'. No one can process absolutely everything they encounter
@@larsthemartian9554 I have no clue if I analyze "everything" or enough to be a Ti dom. I do however notice I analyze stuff other people don't and people look at me weirdly if they find out I did.
You got me
Yeah, no one can analyze everything but I have a hard time not trying.
It's called the "child" for a reason! :)
@@BiancamellaSays child is a 3rd function, is it not
After studying junguian psychology for years I realized Psychological/Personality Typology is a fraud.
"Refreshing" is often a word I've associated with INTPs for the exact reasons you've described! ~ Nathan
#1
Everything can be analysed
Everything should be analysed
I do analyse everything
Yes. Just asking the question "why" is more than enough proof.
#2
When someone says something you intensely disagree with, do you fail to bite your tongue, hit them with why you think they're wrong. Then later, feel some guilt and worry about your social skills. Or, in your view, lack thereof.
Yes. I've gotten better through the years by adopting Shoshin but the urge to jump on every opportunity never left. As per feeling guilty, I still do, to this day.
#3
Intellectual variety and novelty
New ideas generate excitement
Yes. Whenever I get to read something that piques my interest, I somehow become "obsessed" with knowing as much about it... just for the sake of knowing.
#4
Creature of habit, routine and comfort
Yes.
#5
Perform best in fast-paced high-pressure environments
No. I need time to digest the influx of information I receive. Until I get a good grasp, conceptually, of how this new piece of information will fit in my head, then I will most likely get confused and look dumb.
#6
Are you irked by forceful subjectivity?
Yes. Especially if the subject's subjective nature is taken as objective fact, I will bypass what I have been practicing mentioned in #2.
#7
Do you often wish you were more productive and organised?
#8
Do you have a pathological need to know?
Yes. I am restless when something doesn't fit within my head or challenges what I know of it.
Do you find yourself analysing your analysis?
Current Routine:
Wake Up
Laptop (TH-cam, Google, Chatgpt, Spotify, Deviantart)
Forget Netflix exists
Occasionally Leave Room in search of Sustenance
When bored Clean Kitchen
Listen for phone notifications and bring in any orders
Remember there are shows on Netflix, someone else is using it.
If work, go to work
Sleep
And that's why while ISFJ I claim to live "the INTP life".

Hey, I'm glad to see an INTP that's more interested in spiritual things. (I test as INTP or INFP. If I am either one, I'm the stunted version LOL)
Guys, my INTP son has Moon in the 11 house😅
you are always the best at understanding and describing us INTPs.
But I just _couldn't resist._
I dug up the whole course.
I'm an INTP I thought I was an ESTJ cuz I can be so blunt and honest and people would call me mean.
I was too called mean and as an INTP i totally get it
Meanie!
LOL
This is very clean, clear and easy to understand. Can you please do the same kind of video of all 16 types? ❤
Great advice indeed! ~ Nathan
~ Nathan
@@lovewho I was not expecting a response! My mother is an ISTJ who deeply desires an "ISTJ in 16 words" video. She loves your videos
So once again, for the zillioneth time, I answer resoundingly as an INTP. To every single question! I don’t understand why anyone would be unsure.
Hahaha! Hi, dear. I'm an INTP, and I love your videos. This further proves that I'm an INTP. "Please remember to make more videos, especially on INTP."
As an INTP I can't get enough of watching religious debates for hours. And it's relief that I found speakers corner videos.
1) Yes
2) Not really, I can just decide if it's not worth argument apriori. Only perhaps on brutally retaliating on relatives who subconsciously try to win a lost argument by ad hominem. There is part of me that wants to punish that behavior immediately, like a reflex and without mercy and other part wondering if it was worth it or whether I should have stoically ignored it.
3) Yes
4) Kind of, but I have some hobbies in physical realm that could be easily mistaken for ISTP.

As an INTP, this is relatable.
You should cover how different conditions effect the types like being a empath, introverted extrovert, autistic etc or other factors that might interfere or alter how functions operate
So many of these apply for INFP. In ways all of them but at least 6/8 of them
Edit: I sometimes wonder am I an INTP but alas
i feel your pain
Same! I think I’m an INXP
@@KafkaKappa I'm definitely infp but have many intp traits
It seems to me that while INTPs are analythinc (breaking things up to smaller manageable pieces, then perhaps back), INFPs are more synthetic (combining unusual pieces together, creatively imaginative).
My feelings want me to be an INFP, but my logical analysis tells me I might be INTP.
Not me analyzing how I do in high pressure environments. Lol

5. Disagree

7. Agree
8. Idk
Excellent format!
I'm curious which one I'd connect to the most, given how I'm still heavily debating w/ myself what my MBTI is
I'm an infp and was curious how many I relate to
We share 2 cognitive functions and can relate to not doing as much as I set out to and creature of habit and routine (child SI) which makes us so cat like
YES,
YES,
YES,
YES,
YES,
YES,
YES,
YES!
Brilliant video, thanks my man!
Well said. I've seldom met an INTP who doesn't prefer to move at their own, usually slower pace ~ Nathan

I'm an INTJ, but I would be tempted to answer with the INTPs on all of these. Which question would be the differentiator?
Great question. My question, too.
Nobody would care about this, but I do point it out recalling how in a previous video a while ago about the common mistypes INTPs and ISFJs fall to that situation.
Having common cognitive functions is not something we should underestimate. Especially if some people because of their upbringings, environment, or many other factors develop their "weaker" (according to MBTI typing) functions. As everything in life, it depends.
I've often seen those types as very similar, especially as they mature and develop ~ Nathan
1. Yes 2. No 3. No 4. No, I dont think you should limit yourself with routine 5. Yes 6. Yes 7. No I kind of dont care 8. It honestly depends on what the thing is.
2: False, I do not later feel guilt and worry about my social skills.
you know... routine is a bit of a strong word... I'm more like... a mess
And OMG, YESSS I have envied people who seems very INTJ/ENTJ for their organization skills and the ability of getting things done, to the point I had to stop watching one colleague's Insta stories so I don't feel down watching her work, but after having a INTJ close friend and a ENTJ work colleague, I'd rather not be them, we're so opposite! But at least be functional and having a passion (even if the passion was earning money) would be nice...
I really like the presentation of the video
How to irk an INTP:
"I have my truth, and you have your truth, and both of them are true"
You will do the way to the beat to SP's ? They are probaly the hardest to beat.
ENTJs may not be the happiest type, but if i were a healthy ENTJ, I'd feel unstoppable, which would bring tremendous pleasure
for #1 you should’ve change it to, “i do analyze *anything*”, because everything is incorrect for i am unable to analyze everything
for everything can be analyzed and everything is to much for a lifeform, especially myself, to be physically able to think and analyze about with my limited self :)
Or: "I may analyze anything, and as a first course of action. Superseding everything but my fight-flight-freeze-faun response which really likes yanking the cord, and I almost hate it..."
Oh yay I’ll join the discord😆
Stop taking tests. Learn about the types and functions and decide for yourself what type you fit into.
With respect to 2 - Why should anyone ever feel guilt about being right?
@@Christian-xv5hb be less conflict averse and be concise, not verbose. Conflict is good, verbal sparring sharpens the mind.
@@arlettasloan6453 Yes, sometimes I become very rude and a little bit disrespectful towards good people that love and respect me, just because they say stupid and illogical things, and then I regret as I think about this sad expression of their faces😂😂😭😭
Because sometimes the truth hurts
What are your thoughts on the overlap between INTP and ASD descriptions?
INTP here, Thier truth, my truth, I hate those words so much...there is only the truth.
There are some interesting overlaps between INTPs and INFPs. It's fun to see the way you diverge as well! ~ Nathan
Scored 100%.
Me - INTP
Talk about depression and emotional numbness in intp. I'm going through this phase.
0:34 also known as post yap clarity “why did I say that I talk too much?”
4:11 just yesterday my coworker asked me “do you just walk around knowing these things or what?” when I explained different time zones in different cities as a possible reason why we’d recieved communication at midnight and my answer was “yes. I like knowing things”
In any case, I was starting to doubt if I was intp again so thanks for the video. Side note, the discord is actually a really interesting place to lurk on.
"Post yap clarity" is hilarious! ~ Nathan
I really analysed the first 3 questions 😅
I think EVERYTHING is a strong word.
Well, that answers that. Over here thinking I've been an INTJ all this time.
I should say that it's still important to dig deeper if you haven't already! I've done a video comparing those types that might me worth checking out ~ Nathan
Nailed it as usual, sir. 😄
Ti goes along that water drop
Gosh I HATED watching magic shows as a kid, because I just wanted to know how they did it, and then they wouldn't tell me, it made me so extremely upset.
I feel that. I dread to think of the frustration I would have experienced in the pre-internet age after seeing a great magic trick and not knowing how it was done! ~ Nathan
Me: Analysing why some comments have hearts and some don't
Me: anything I say about this analysis will be looked down upon
55 year old female INTP, married, with one adult child: 1) AGREE, 2) CONDITIONALLY YES (depends on the depth of my relationship with them), 3) YES, 4) YES, 5) FUNDAMENTALLY NO (I often perform better than many and can hit the ground, running when I must), 6) YES, 7) YES, 8) LMAO YES.
Still on the fence about returning to that Discord server. Last year, I didn't care for the mindless moderation bot that couldn't deal with context.
As an INTP please let us know what you think about INfP girlfriend for you, or what ur views are about it
but i have so many of the same outfit it's hard to tell if this is same outfit or another one🙃
I respect that ~ Nathan
damn the second one
too accurate
Little hint from an INTP: That example at the end with the cardtrick is a bit missleading, cause a cardtrick for me is not really an intellectual stimulating thing but more of a technical demanding skill, so i would probably honor and respect the work and time you put into it, but would not waste time and energy on finding out the exact way its been done.
I am typed INFJ, but I think that was my masked neurodivergence. (AuDHD) without the mask it’s a 100% INTP.
Absolutely true as an intp-t
I hate to being looked through. So I state now: I don't care about truth, not at all! 😂
I got Intp on every test i've done and I answered the same as all of these except for number 2. (which I think is just because of social anxiety lol)
wearing the same outfits... or outfit.
Me looking down at one of the same three shirts I rotate through every week: huh.
i cant figure out if im an intj or an intp, its driving me insane
You must be an INTJ because an INTP wouldn't put too much pressure on themselves to figure it out!
Can you do how to win as every personality type and how to know if you are on like 5 signs you are an estp by example thanks
Video request: How an INTP Can Balance Their Functions
Question 7… was the easiest to answer.
@@arlettasloan6453 I didn't actually mean religion specifically more like belief in general I meant justice mercy duty that sort of thing
I'm definetly not a INTP, the only thing is the same is I wish I i was more organized. My score 0.5/8
Hmm maybe I should consider looking into INTP more, I think I am INFJ but these 8 are definitely applicable to myself.
Hmmn... I think INFJ responses are similar, but the "yeses" have different motivations, maybe.
You know you're an INTP when you don't know if you're an INTP
Actually, that is a very common recurring theme I've seen with INTPs. Very few types doubt their type more than INTPs ~ Nathan
im an infp and i agreeded with 7/8 of the questions.. 🤨
Could it be we are INTJs, but with ADHD?
I did find out recently I have it. So there is that.
for the 2nd one, I only say something when I strongly disagree when I know 1000% I am right... If there's a possibility I might be wrong, or someone question what I said and I have no proof or I am not 100% sure, then I don't say anything
I can never be the wrong one (Ti working) lol I'd rather stay quiet (the Fe is trying to avoid conflict), but if I know I am right, I don't care about conflict (unless I see there's no use in arguing because the other person will never accept what I am saying)
(editing after the 6th question: loool)
maybe a ENTP would be more willingly to argue more
