Ruby has everything so well planned out, I feel like I would procrastinate packing until the last minute and forget everything! :)
Your videos give me so much hope and I haven't had much lately. Everything in my life has shattered because my mental health plummeted pretty badly for the once more. It hasn't been this bad in five years. I had to leave university this semester to seek treatment. My academics and TH-cam channel have not been where I want them to be so I took a break from both for now. Watching your videos make me feel sad that I cannot be going to school or making videos, but it gives me hope that if I really work toward pulling myself back together that I will be able to get back to school and continue with my channel. Thank you so much Ruby for keeping me motivated to get better.
Also, I don't know who needs to hear this, but I developed this mantra a while back and it has become a staple on my channel.
"If you are not okay right now, accept that you aren't but know that you will be."
I find it so endearing that you decided to go through your flatmate's TBR list and brought her some of the books. It's the little things that matter
Omg Ruby I’m so happy your university vlogs are coming back! Today I went back to the city and I felt so overwhelmed. Since March I was at home and it was calm and peaceful. But now taking the subways, the bus, with all of these people and coronavirus it’s so impressive. I know I’ll be used to it once again. I appreciate so much that we’re coming back to school at the same time. I know I’ll be happy and cozy every night when I get home to watch your videos. Thank you so much ❤️
Please take care of yourself. Don’t feel stressed or overworked, if you can’t post everyday it’s not a problem at all! You’re so inspiring and a true companion in life. I wish to everyone a lot of luck and courage for this odd academic year that’s coming. Love you all ❤️🌈

When I moved out to college I had to take all my belongings. I think it's nice that you still have a space to come home too where you can keep somethings. It probably makes the whole experience less overwhelming

Hey everyone. I'd like to tell you about something.
Today I had tutoring lessons, but I was pretty early so I went to a near park and sat down on a bench. Two benches next to me there sat an old man who had PBA. Pseudobulbar affect is a condition that's characterized by episodes of sudden uncontrollable and inappropriate laughing or crying. A few minutes later another old man came into the park with his little granddaughter and played with her on the playground. The man next to me had continued to laugh the entire time, but when he saw a man his age playing with his children's children, he immediately got very quiet and watched them with a hint of sadness and jealousy. PBA means your brain controls a few of your emotions. People with this or similar conditions suffer as they're quickly becoming isolated, their social environment not being able to get along with them.
I felt really bad for that old man. As soon as he stopped laughing, I felt uncomfortable sitting next to him, knowing he was hurting and ignoring it. I had previously bought myself two chocolate bars that I had to eat during my tutoring lessons. I took one of them and wrote "i like your laugh :)" on a little piece of paper and as I left for my lessons, I laid the note and the candy next to him onto the bench between us and smiled at him to show him that it was for him. After my lessons I went back to that place and the note and the candy were gone.
I'm telling you all this, because I want to show you that kindness is not only a way to truly get someone through their day and make them happy with just very simple, easy, short gestures, but it's also very VERY underrated. Yet it is so important.
Be kind. If you see a person struggling to find the right way, ask them if they need your help. If you see an elder person in a wheelchair who can't push the door to their house open properly, go and help them. If you see a lonely person sitting alone, write a little nice note and lay it down somewhere near them so they see it and feel paid attention to and like they actually matter. If you see a beggar and you don't want to throw some money into their cup, go to the nearest bakery and buy them a croissant and a bottle of water. They're hungry.
Be kind. Don't be kind so people are kind to you. Be kind because you know you'd like to be treated the same way. Being kind makes you happy too. It is not a deprivation. It's a gift. For everyone.
