    Great coin. Picked up some yesterday. And yes the premium is a bit more, but it is the only silver coin that my LCS buys back at 1 dollar over spot. It is very liquid in my USA market.

    You ordered a single Eagle and they sent it in a blue box? Recently I ordered a tube of eagles from Apmex and before that a gold Maple leaf and neither of them came in the blue box. Iv just about had it with APMEX

    You mean the M-16, or our current favorite, the M-4. Love the ASE, and the Queens Beasts, also the Perth mint stuff. Really enjoyed the vid. I also support Manchester City, don't hate.

    It's a nice coins that I buy every year. When it comes to Bullion coins I think the Armenian Noah's ark is the most underrated.

    Great coin and video as always! I did chuckle a bit at an AK47 reminding you of the USA...we do indeed like guns but an M4 or M16 would likely be more apt than the Russian weapon :)

    Glad to see ya like it, unfortunately my friend, iconic as it is, the dang thing hasn't changed since '86, She isn't even an original design, like you said, they just stole the walking lib design. As a Yankee myself, I wish we would give her a bit of a facelift! lol. Your Brittanias all look like they are proofs, ours look like they were sandblasted. Like I said, I am glad ya like it, but I am stunned at how amazing other countries bullion coins are! Just my 2 cents worth. Good pickup my friend, cheers!

    • @Numistacker
      @Numistacker  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I do think pandas lunars and Britannias have some advantage with a changing design on the other hand the American Silver Eagle has a big advantage in recognition perhaps because it has not changed since 1986?

    • @MrZeke
      @MrZeke 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      both excellent points my friend, Really I just mean the fit and finish, most of the world's bullion coins look like proof coins, except ours and perhaps the maple, take the philharmonic or the noah's ark, or the Brittannia, with their high polished fields. I think our matte finish is so lame. it seems lazy on our part?

    • @MrZeke
      @MrZeke 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      the only one i really think is befitting of what industrial progress and innovation we have achieved is the 2013 enhanced proof and reverse proof set, i think they are so beautiful i picked up two sets, i dont understand why we can only do that once since '86? but this is whats wonderful about bullion, there are enough choices for everyone to have favorites.

    I actually had an MS 69 1986 Eagle. Sold it to help purchase my British coins. I'm kind of regretting after watching this. But I looked up prices and you can get an MS 69 1986 for about $45 and a Proof in Box with COA for the same. And they are widely available. I will pick those up sometime.
    By the way, the difference between a 1986 MS 69 and an MS 70 could be an increase of $250 --1,000 in auction.

    Sir please get a good knife & ditch the scissors, If I can recommend a cold steel Pro-Lite with Clip Point Blade, it will not break the bank it will last you forever & you can resharpen it easy! I think Silver Eagle's look wonderful & sadly much better then our humble Britannia's. Great vid thanks for posting.

  • @jimmyboy131
    @jimmyboy131 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    At first I was stacking both Eagles and Britannias in equal amounts, with a Maple Leaf here and there, as well as random other gov mint coins from around the world. I think the US and UK coins are both very beautiful. But since I have limited funds I can put toward this, I had to choose to focus on one, with a thought toward liquidity if it comes to that, and since I live in the US, I chose to focus on the Eagles. I sometimes want to switch to Maples, since their premium is two or three dollars lower on average, but I keep thinking that the Eagles will be a wiser overall investment.
    Still this is a very beautiful coin, even if it never ever changes in the slightest. Which might be a good thing, depending on how you look at it.

      The Silver Eagle Dollar did change on the reverse side of the coin beginning in 2021.
      With the type 2 Landing Eagle on the Reverse side of the coin! I have several Type 1 and Type 2 Silver Eagle Dollars! Some of which are Certified by NGC or PCGS in MS 70, and in PR 70!

    AK 47 is iconically Russian lol. The M16 would be the American iconic military rifle. The American Eagle is a beautiful coin and I would love to see the Russian silver bullion coin. I am not sure what it is or if they even have one. If they do, please do a video about it sometime. I would love Putin one in my collection. Great videos, thanks for making them.

    The scissor commentary made me laugh. As an American, the ASE is the standard of my stack but I also buy 99.99% Britannia's because I feel they provide more security features than the unchanged since 1986 ASE

    The standard ungraded Silver Eagle Dollar is not really a numismatic coin! Especially in common years and mintmark s. Numismatic coins are a very different market than are standard bullion coins!

    Not a fan of the silver eagle. Overpriced (the sunshine mint walking Liberty uses the same planchette, has the same design, but also has the security features at a significantly lower price), often counterfeited, no security features and the face value is low.
    Give me Maples any day, especially now that they have reduced milk spots and significantly increased security. Also has a significantly higher face value than any other 1 oz silver coin on the market.

    It's very difficult nowadays to get a problem free ASE as they are cherry picked for grading. In Canada, it's easier as they are not graded here, so a roll is likely to be original.

    • @meteoman7958
      @meteoman7958 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      i have sent in a coin or 3 to be graded, twice i swear i did not get the same coin back, was another lower grade scratched up version both times, and zero i could do about it, hell if i am ever doing that again

      @bgates275 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      MétéoMan, I'm also in Canada. I've already got some Maple Leafs, but was also thinking of picking up some Silver Eagles at some point. Are the Eagles as liquid here in Canada, as they are in the United States? Have you actually tried to sell any?

  • @numismaticmaster8612
    @numismaticmaster8612 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Honestly, I think that 90% junk silver would be better to buy than the Eagle. They're more well known to the population, they're fractional at a low premium, and $1.40 face is one troy ounce.

    In usa entire life and yes my grammar is poor US dollar value got trashed this last week you should watch igold advisor to see excellent overview I made my living as investment advisor, big moves like usa stocks and cryptos never go one way for long bubbles occur huge drop in cryptos las week or so and dollar sending message in
    Last year I followed numis recommendations and silver slacker I only bought 5300oz of silver plus numis highlighted items . When gold silver ratio drops I will move a lot to gold. I am spread out more in other investments. Happy to borrow good ideas in areas I don’t know so listen to numis and slacker ideas who both know a lot in areas I don’t. Been a usa stock guy only for 20 plus years.
