This is the Pixel 4a in 2021! Google's "A" line of phones has quickly become a favorite of mine, and last year's 4a is still a phone I could use as my main. It checks enough boxes and at $350, even less on the used market, it could be considered a great pickup now and moving forward especially with Android 12 on the way.

He didn't say he didn't appreciate it, just that he didn't use it. If you paid $80 bucks or more for a nice pair of wireless buds, you're not gonna go back to wired headphones unless you've got a really good reason. I just got a 4a, and I may never use the headphone jack, but then again, I may decide to buy a pair of bose $300 headphones, and then the headphone jack would be a lifesaver. It just depends on what you need from your phone, and what accessories you have.

I've bought it as soon as it got released, switched from my Pixel 2 XL. I can say that these are basically identical, a slight upperhand for the 4a, but the smaller form factor, the "low end" materials used make it way better for me. Yes, it is plastic. So what? It's lighter, doesn't scratch that easy and I don't have to be afraid of damaging it when I drot. There is no glass on the back either - which means you don't need a bulky case to protect it. I slapped on a screen protector and that's it. There have been some accidental drops, not a single, robust scratch or anything on the back as of now. And you can't argue with that price either.

I switched over to the 4a recently as a long time Samsung user -- great performance and ZERO regrets (and I do not miss the bloatware). The only thing they missed is pretty small: Being able to discard or delete a draft (unsent) text message; You can delete the entire conversation forever, but not only the the unsent one you decide to dump. Oh, well.

I decided to go with the pixel 4a as a replacement just because of the price. I'm glad I did. I'll probably never buy another premium phone. It's pixel A series for me from now on. Great video!

I got mine for free from my phone company as a "gift" for signing on for another year, on a less expensive plan with more data. Been pretty happy with it...was using a Pixel 2. There are still some things my Pixel 2 is better at (better GPU), but the CPU/RAM of the Pixel 4A seems to be faster than the Pixel 2 even though it has a lower clock-speed. The screen has been the biggest upgrade for me. I'd honestly still be happy with the Pixel 2, but since my 4A was free, I didn't turn it down.

The pixel A series phones are my favorite android for development. With stock android, a google phone that always gets betas on launch day, gets updates for years on launch day, and of course the price. It’s perfect especially since I don’t need a 1000+ phone that I don’t even use as a phone but just to debug an app.

I was reluctant to upgrade that, but was caught in battery/firmware bork and essentially handed a Pixel XL. 6 years later I don't want to upgrade from that either, but the batter has gone from 48 hours to 6 hours, and a 4a is better than free right now (I could sell it tomorrow for more than what my phone company are charging per month over 2 years for it)... so I'm going to try it. Hey, as long as it's as good as an OG Pixel XL but the battery lasts longer than 6 hours I couldn't ask for anything more!
