I always thought that if I was getting knocked out all the time, I must be doing something wrong. As your guides have shown me, thats just a requirement in Kenshi combat
They way you lay out information reminds me of a mission briefing
"spoilers, intros are boring let's get right in" instant subscribe.
By far the best Kenshi guidesman on TH-cam.
Thank you! :)
Dude these guides are great! I don’t have a ton of time to play so having you explain mechanics and model how to speed up training saves me more to run around exploring! Can you share your methods for training other stats/skills as well? Much appreciated for what you have already given!
Thank you! I have plans to do so in the future! And no problem at all!
This is amazing. 0 cheese, this is simply how the developers designed the game
Hey man thank you for coming up with the best guides I've found on TH-cam for kenshi, you are thorough and no stupid opener which saves time for me to level while watching the video
No problem! And thanks for the kind words! :)
I discovered your channel today, I can´t play kenshi by the time of the next 2 or 3 months, but for sure, i´m gonna be here for every video you upload about the world of kenshi and how to improve myself in the gameplay, i´m really glad to know your videos, and from now on, you have a new suscriber and a new viewer every day
Thank you for your kind words. I hope I'm able to show you a lot of new tricks and things :)
i hope you were able to play this wonderful game
started playing kenshi this week and your videos help me a ton, i was kinda hesitant to pick up the game bc the difficulty was intimidating but with your help i managed to get through the first few hours of my current game
This is just incredible, this is the video I've been NEEDING! good shit my dude
Late to the party but just wanted to say I really like your guides to kenshi
Never too late to comment! Thank you and I'm glad you enjoy them!
To the point and specific! Great video. I'd love to see a video on which mobs are the best to train up weapon skills as you level up
That is definitely a guide I'll make in the future. If you want to know what I do everyday on stream to train weapons 1-50/60 I go fight baby crabs in the unwanted zone (It's on the way to the next area) and then Iron HQ I fight Skeleton Bandits inside a building.
i normally dislike when videos go for 10mins+ in a youtube video. but i honestly enjoyed the fact you showed the whole process. made sure i knew exactly what im ment to be doing instead of just kind of guessing. good job.
Incredible guide that allowed me to play some characters with the highest ma I've ever had, thank you!
I still have one question for this guide tho: what's the best way to lose a limb as a skeleton?
Peeler or Paladins. Paladins is obviously risky.
Here bc ambiguous amph says u got good vids respect
Kenshi is such a broken mess and I’m here for it.
Been doing this after watching a VOD of your agnu MA stream, absolutely incredible, literlaly the only problem with this method is that everything becomes incredibly easy to kill hahaha, wonderful strat, thank you
No thank you for watching and leaving a comment! And yeah for sure. Martial arts in just incredibly insane. Little tip if playing a character with Hunger you can starve yourself to reduce your STR by a ton. 90% iicrc at 100 Hunger (0.9% per 1 hunger below 200) to help reduce the damage you deal by a lot.
Very interesting. Hope I can do the same for my katana.
Katana is the easiest weapon skill to raise, a rusted junk ninja blade does barely any dmg to armor. Put a captive with good melee defense/martial arts skill in heavy armor and weigh them down so they cant defend themselves while you beat on them. Works even better if you replace their arms with economy ones and they're a skeleton so you can heal all the damage.
Thank you, I will subscribe hoping I can see more of this kind of content
Man. You a hero
it's nice you tube i watch you in twitch but i don't understand english and here i 've the translation
Hey! Thanks for watching :) And okay!
Hey Frankie, love all your guides so far. Could you share some insights on how to best train strength? I heard swinging overly heavy weapons (compared to your strength) gives the best strength xp but can't seem to get consistently large groups of enemies to swing at (without them or me going down too quickly)
Sure! I usually don't train Str (Seriously at least) until my attack and defense are at 90. Then I find the best way is to go to locations like the Stormthralls (120 of em before Cat-Lon) to fight on the stairway, random crab nests work nicely too/just fighting everything you come across. Starving bandits groups in Skinners roam or Bull groups. If you're a skeleton then you can str train safely on even skin spider swarms in Arach. The gist of it is reduce your str by starving (If organic can reduce str by up to 90% from hunger alone) and use the weakest weapon you can and still get max str xp. Max STR XP (110%) is at 20 below 1x the weight of the weapon or 40x the blunt damage. Whichever value is the highest. Will be making a guide on it in the future showcasing how fast you can level it in certain areas :)
@FrankieWuzHere Thank you so much man, very comprehensive as always and extremely helpful. You're the best
Hi Frankie, good stuff, after the props you got from AA I'm pretty sure your channel would blow up if you put up more content, both specific short guides like this and VODs of your runs (I don't do Twitch)
Was actually considering that earlier today... I might just do that. Also I am thinking of making a mythbuster type video or random facts to clear up a ton of misconceptions people have in the game.
Also thank you!
Great video!
It is 100% necessary the robotic limbs? I want to make a Hiver soldier Martial artist but i really don’t want to lose the legs
Nope! Just use Crab armour for the fist protection instead of Samurai.
@@FrankieWuzHere Crab Armour specifically rather than the crab armour set, right? I assume as much since in another comment you agreed with someone use samurai boots if the character has organic legs.
Also thanks to the original commenter for having the same doubt as I do now 5 months prior.
But what happens to the crab nests? Do they respawn? I noticed that some of them die. I even got a message that one of them got wiped out.
Whenever a nest is killed off a new one will spawn upon saving and loading the game or going far enough from the area and coming back. You won't ever run out of nests :)
Very good stuff.
It works great when you get attacks that hit multiple crabs :) got to 90 MA really fast in that island.
Thank you for the guide, bro! Will try to teach my skeletons 😊
Question Frankie, Would having another large backpack being equipped with the set up lowering the combat skills by 10 help raise the skills faster or did I miss something? I watched this vid a couple of times and it seems like you need the lowest skills possible to get the fastest growth speed so wouldn't adding another large backpack to the mix help? Thanks!
Also Frankie, just looked at a comment below and you said you have 3,100 hours in this game a year ago, how many hours do you have so far now?
Hey! So funnily enough no. "Combat stats" are just attack/defense not Martial arts :)
5000ish now!
Awesome stuff. Much better than just rushing to vain to beat up gorillos in a bed.
Would it be a good idea to do this while starving and with all 4 worse quality economy limbs? Would that only help by doing less damage thus allowing more hits, or would it also give some xp boost to MA or Dex?
Sorry for the super late reply. Starving would drop your str by up to 90% (100/300 hunget) so it would work too. Just starving also drops movement speed by a lot as well so it is up to you. Economy limbs to drop str would work but they have so little hp and the time to heal them would take forever. Provided you don't remove them, save, load save to heal them to full.
Nice video! Quick question, does carrying a body speed up the process? I'd imagine it would help the strength gains
Thanks! Carrying a body only boosts str xp for walking around. However in this case you are encumbered so when walking from squad to squad yes! Also you can use whoever you are carrying as a bit of a backpack to move faster from nest to nest! Just do not use a corpse as they may despawn and be sure to make sure not to get knocked out if your stuff is held on a random bandit you are holding as they will run off (Or well walk off) with it.
awesome guide, but how do you level up MA and dex beyond lv75?
Keep on training! This can be done for all long as you'd like.
this reminds me of fighting crabs to train in runescape a young lad
The Nolstalgia...
Amazing method! You see i dont like to use mod items to increse the fighting stats; i think it messes the fun of the game. I usually train att/def with prisoners to get over 50 but i always struggle doing it with MA. Thanks for the guide!
Thank you for the compliment and for watching! I've learned a lot more since I made this guide. Incase you were curious you get bonus XP for being outnumbered in combat. 1.1x additional XP for each enemy and it caps at 1 v 8 + enemies giving 1.66...x XP. It's why these nests give so much XP :)
@@FrankieWuzHere yeah i noticed my characters get from 1 to 25-30 att/def easily when sending them solo to a dust bandit camp for thoughness training. Y thought it was coz they were defending against several attacks at the same tine but it makes sense that they gain more if they are outnumbered
@@FrankieWuzHere its actually crazy that i can keep learning things on this game at over 800 hours XD
you can run in day one to vain. lure a beakthing to town, lets him beat from stickmen. Heal and put beak to bed. carry a body and some ironore(optional). Now punch this beak. Under 5days, without eq you get very good martial artist
Eh the goal of my guides are how to train without cheesing though.
@@FrankieWuzHere isn't grinding 90 toughness with super gear and maxxed out robotics "cheeseing"? if you have all those things , just go whack a levithan pup you'll level just as fast and you can use a blade. Also when you get to 60's base stats you can switch to full sized in the same area.
Leviathans are horrible xp. And no optimally training isn't cheesing. Cheesing is usually used to describe abusing unintended stuff. Like hitting animals in bed, toughness training by taking your own leg off and on, etc...
Hey, thanks for the amazingly concise and to the point video! I noticed that this training raises dexterity fast only when using MA, not when using any weapon. Does dex training happen differently with MA and weapons?
MA will train Dexterity 1 to 1. For weapons it uses the cut damage of the weapons divided by the total damage. So if a weapon has 1 cut damage and 1 blunt damage you'll get 2 attack XP to 1 Dexterity XP. Although Katanas are 1:1 (Minus Topper) I'd advise not using them and instead using a Rusted Junk Foreign Sabre as the -attack means much better XP gains. And thanks for the comment! I use this place when training attack early game too! It'll be in a future guide for sure :)
@@FrankieWuzHere thanks so much for the detailed reply! I had one more question - does the number of enemies impact the training for MA/Dex/Attack in any way?
I've started using these crabs to also train my attack and weapon skills. Haven't really found anything else that as safe and consistent as them in the UWE mod, as howlers maze remains moistly vanilla.
i love it, thx for the video
Thanks for this
interesting; I saw similar results with the great white gorillo stuck in a bed (got to 85 in about a day or so); it might not have been quite as fast, but I didn't do any of the meticulous set up you did, just used samurai armor and no weapon. Of course fighting a gorillo stuck in a bed is hardly sporting...
Yeah that's why the video is (No Cheese) hah.
Going at this as a full organic is hard af. For some reason my character just get stunned even with the baby crabs and then suddenly i see my head getting crippled
Are you using any mods? Even with 5x attack slots that should not happen.
dont know if you're still answering comments in this video, but does hitting elder animals give more exp? or the enemy exp caps at adult level?
It does not! It always gives XP as if they are age 1.0.
@@FrankieWuzHere oh, thanks! love your tutorials btw
@@jeejjaaj Thank you! And I always do my best to answer any questions I get no matter the date of the video :) Provided TH-cam notifies me.
I've been trying this strat and I'm struggling a lot with non-skeleton characters. Also, my characters, about 50% of the time to dodge or stumble after getting hit until they go down. So they don't end up getting much experience. Is it the 90 toughness? If it's the toughness that's unfortunate. It makes this only viable if I've also grinded my toughness.
You can train Toughness 1-90 extremely quickly in Skinners Roam. Just follow my Toughness guide! Soldierbots are always the best characters to train combat stats on, followed by Skeletons, Scorchlanders, Sheks, Greenlanders and then Hivers last.
The dodge/stumble (if it's the one I think you're referring to) is effected by the dodge skill. When your character stumbles from an attack, they have the opportunity to dodge out of the stumble to avoid being hit again by someone taking advantage. Toughness will make it so that it takes more damage for you to stumble, but dodge will allow you to get out of that stumble before someone uses that moment to knock you out.
You can do this around toughness 40 but it doesn't have to be super high.
@@FrankieWuzHere I'm trying to do it with 90 toughness(as a shek) and I'm struggling because of patrolling crabs, they just annihilate me, they do like 20 hits in a row and I hit once
Sorry for the late reply. If the big boys attack you I suggest removing a leg to get them to walk away.
Nice guide, by the way if youre not an skeleton and you can wear boots use the samurai boots, they give you -5 on kenpo
True! I just prefer robotics to avoid limb damage :)
Will starving your character also help you get overloaded, or will that negatively affect XP gain?
Yeah I've been doing it recently and I have a 2nd character following with food, trading it to the one training every so often but only keeping his hunger to around 80-100. Pretty sure you get more xp the larger the gap is on your stats, and being hungry reduces it a shit ton.
It will reduce your str by a massive amount. Very useful for overloading yourself without needed to bring too much stuff. Will not effect your xp gain at all.
are you using any mod related to martial arts? My character will barelly attack and always be locked in to dodging blows
Not at all. My mods are just the Clean Grey UI, Nice Maps (Roads and.. I forget the other part of it) and mute flies. It that happens just move a lil closer. The first 5 levels are rough but once you unlock kicklow you speed up a lot.
Is the only reason you leveled to 75 MA was to keep it within 24 hrs in game? Is it worth it to grind the MA skill to 90 or 100?
Well 75 is how high I usually will train for Martial Arts for trying to speedrun killing Tengu, Esata, Phoenix, Bugmaster and Catlon. Freeing Agnu on Day 1 so I have 50 STR, plus Assassins Rags (+6) and Armoured Rag Skirt (+4) puts you at 85 Martial Arts which is enough to easily dispatch most enemies in the game with ease. But I mostly went for 1 day just to show off the average level you'll reach in a day as a Skeleton doing this. You can range between high 60s with bad RNG and low 80s with good RNG.
@@FrankieWuzHere So it's probably best to go for around 75 ish got it. Ty for responding! I'm still kinda learning this game.
WOW I had no idea that, for animals, it uses their "adult" stats even though they're pups and stuff.
The reason why it does this (My belief) is when hitting an opponent they gain defense experience first. Then you gain attack experience based off their new defense level. It probably checks their defense in their stats (35 in this case) so it treats it like 35def.
To get everything there do you just put it on a corpse and carry it there I noticed that I was slow asf on the way over and did that
You can mine the ore in Howlers Maze. But yeah you could also store the stuff on another character. I would recommend not using a corpse as they can despawn if you save + load the game.
@@FrankieWuzHerehi Frankie I wanted to update you to how I altered this strategy, instead of being overencombered I brought with me prototype hiver arms, they reduce dex and str and helped me train faster and do this strategy with no encumberence penalty, got to 70 dex off 4 camps
The gains if I combined them might’ve been even better but it still was good exp and I got there quick
@@FrankieWuzHerealso I did this with Greenlander, how are you consistently removing skeletons appendages without save scumming on iron spiders or peeler machine as you are solo. Thanks
I dont know what im doing wrong. I do what you say and the crabs just stun lock me till i pass out.. Been doing this for hours and my martial arts is only at like 35
What mods are you using? Are you fighting the baby ones?
New to the game, but it would seem to me, 90 toughness and access to masterwork armor says you probably don't need combat training at that point?
I have a guide on how to get money/armour and Toughness :) After Toughness you train combat.
I guessing 1x attack slot is key for these levelling guides.
You can do this with multiple attack slots too.
isn't this only possible to do if you are so tough you can survive the many enemies? and I don't have enough for Masterwork :(
If you need Toughness check out my Toughness guide! You can train Toughness there even without armour if needed... That being said you can get armour for free if you check my Armour guide as well from certain areas.
i have 800h now, right click attack all targets is mandatory to fight in groups... if you right click one guy your character will get hit by everyone like in the video and will only react to the one guy you clicked...
>HAN-D
Man of culture, i see.
Named after HAN-D from risk of rain 😅
did you say 2600 hrs ?😱
3,100+ now :)
>robotic limbs
Glares in Okranite >:c
When you train with King trapped in a building, you lose interest in non-cheesy solutions.
There is an even cheesier way than that :)
Why isn't he gaining any dodge xp though 🤔
Dodge XP is reduced based off encumbrance. So if you are 99% encumbered you gain 1% Dodge XP :)
You are a programmer don't you?
Na. Just a nerd :)
@@FrankieWuzHere ah, ok, nice video btw
90 toughness off rip?? where's that video! (searches your video list) lol
EDIT: th-cam.com/video/ZKewjfz8djk/w-d-xo.html
was the first video when i clicked on your page! quickest sub of my life lol
Ты крутой
how hitting a pup gives you XP as if u hit adult enemy is also cheese. This engine is just so scrappy. Kenshi 2 will be fire
Hard disagree as the same thing happens when fighting elders.
@FrankieWuzHere ok but elders are stronger
Very good video
