One of my fav Mazarati songs. Players Ball and 100 mph are jams also. It's amazing how they were so androgynous yet no batted an eye back then in 1986.
The 'Look' was the 'Prince Effect'. If one was associated with Prince, a different look was EXPECTED. The Time had their own style, Mazarati had theirs and The Family was somewhere inbetween...
@@rexwilliams4975ea that’s one of the things i like about this era, anyone who was under Prince’s umbrella had their own unique styles , they pushed the limits when it came to fashion , but it’s what made them stand out .I just found out recently that Brownmark was secretly working on this Mazerati project and was taking a chance of getting kicked out of the revolution by Prince finding out. Supposedly Prince knew all along and ended up having a heavy input and being involved on the creative process and overseeing the project.
Stumbled into Mazarati again! Strawberry Lover! Been a long time since the 80s.Might have heard this on vinyl back in the day. I always love some good Minneapolis Sound !!!
Saw these guys twice back in the day. They rocked. First concert had Brownmark playing with them. I still have the vinyl that I put on CD for playing. Such a great band.
Mazarati was Totally Lit !! They had The Look & Sound to match !!! Awesome Rock / Funk Band. Many Thanks to Brown Mark for introducing these Guys to us..
@@wells2269 Heh. That's funny. I remember this period of time about a year or 18 months after its release when every record store you visited had Mazarati's record in the "closeout bargain bin" for a quarter. Didn't matter to me. I bought it about a week after release and was totally hooked. I think I even gave one away to a friend just because I knew I could get another practically free.
I was kid listening to this, and didn’t have a clue, I just loved they way it sounded!!! I just laughed when he started talking... but yeah I think you right though
Me too man…I remember when my uncle played it in his room & I was watching cartoons & got up to see who sang this! He handed me the album cover & I said “they look like girls!” LoL! I was in grade school then, but this jam takes me back like a mo’fo’! Damn…wish I had a time machine! Shit…think I’m getting teary eyed! LoL!
I Wore The Song Out On Cassette Back In The Day And Still Have Respect For It Today. They Would Have Been Big As The Fugees Because They Had A Lot Of Potential.
According to discogs & wikipaedia, the first act on Paisley Park (other than Prince) was Sheila E, then The Family. Mazarati were were the third (All three in 1985). Three O'Clock first released on Paisley Park in 1988. :-)
Mazarati Their 1st And Only Album On MCA Records/Uptown Records Were Discovered By Brown Mark Of The Temptations This Track Is A Personal Favorite. Overall It Is A Pretty Tight Album Mary J. I thought a strawberry was a strung out girl that'll do anything 4 a hit... But after listen to it three or four more times damn I think you might be right it's some orgy shit going on here
I'm starting to think maybe Prince didn't get behind this because he hated competition because there's no way this shouldn't have blown da FUCK up and all of them look like girls to you know that was the shit back then😂🤣😂🤣 and they can play too... just makes you wonder
The Problem Was Mary J. Blige Didn't Want A Lot Of These Bands That She Discovered Or Put Together Have Any Breathing Room To Blossom On Their Own Being The Absolute Control Person She Was.

Nah man. “Screamer” is a dope guitarist. I’ve known him a long time. His whole family was very musical in Rock Island

Just realized after listening closely to the lyrics this is about a gang bang or 2 men doing one woman......had no idea
