This is one of Audie Murphy 's best pictures . It had a political message which was very different from the utter rubbish that John Wayne portrayed in his westerns.
#1 I’ve always loved Audie….i got that from my momma. #2 These are Apache Indians….but they’re speaking perfect Spanish. I just find it funny. Great movie, though….as are ALL Audie Murphy movies.❤
Now I understand we have to take a lot of these old movies in context, but Captain Stanley is trying his darndest to keep the peace between the settlers and the Apache.
Good to see a movie where both sides were shown to be capable of honor and compassion. The Indians were brutal but not always blood thirsty savages as is often the way they are portrayed. The settlers were often the real villains in the west when land, water and gold were thrown into the mix.
I read Audie Murphy's autobiography and found out he had what I have chronic PTSD. I learned he also stayed in hotels for days drinking in his room. Jus' as I've been doing for the past few years... I don't know why I do that.
Please, don't do that. You have a true friend that loves you and cares for you and his name is Jesus. Just call his name and he will answer you, and i will pray for you; and you are not alone. Jesus loves you, more than you can imagine. God bless you. Jesus is the answer to your problems.

I've been avoiding VA treatments for them stuffing me with heavy medicine, shots, and pills leaving in a state of sedation. I want to deal with THIS conditions my way but it's not easy, and I know it's not gonna go away overnight. I pray to the Lord for help everyday ...and a stranger's prayer helper as well.... I ask God for your blessings and to keep you safe 🙏... again thank you....

Back then, it was easier to have someone get shot rather than have more than five dozen horses know a parlor trick. Now we have CGI so all we need is one horse and a good camera and computer.

Audie looked like he didn't feel well in this movie. Must have been during the time of their medicating him. He had a tragic life, I hope he found Harmony before his departure, and enjoy a Positive Peaceful continued Journey.
Sad to hear that he had such problems later in life. I wonder if he knew Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and gave his life to him. Many of his movies had Bible and Christian overtones. But I don't know if he ever converted to Christianity? He had a memorable life it would be sad if he finishes his eternity away from heaven.
