I don't know how many times I've heard people complaining about squirrels raiding their 🐦 feeders, I don't see why they can't leave some peanuts out for them as well, in fact they even eat stale bread

Weird how humans making loud eating noises drives me crazy, but not the squirrels. 😂 They sure go for that coconut, seems to be the favorite of experimental treats you have offered.
I'm told my grandfather used to go sit under the tree in his backyard and feed the squirrels. Seems it didn't take long before he could sit out there smoking his pipe and have squirrels sitting on him and eating from his hand. I don't know what kind, I expect the predominant species in rural Minnesota just post-WWII.

I have one that will sit on the feeding area and literally toss any corn into the grass, hates the stuff.. LOL though the blue Jays will eat the corn. I have been feeding mixed nuts (shelled and unshelled), dry corn and sunflower seeds.
That Jane is really cute how she was looking right into the camera and then how we can hear her enjoying that nut butter! I don't hear all those little eating noises with the other ones?
I have a big Tx size boy squirrel who comes to my feeders & chases the others away. I have to space my feeders so he can only be at one & not reach the others quickly in order to let others feed safely too.
Squirrels can become quite tame. My local park has squirrels that will take food from your hand. You can lift them off the ground when they grab your fingers to get the nuts.
Their teeth are always growing, so they need to use them. If you regularly feed soft food they will develop a problem. I love what you're doing though. I feed them, and the birds too.
The expressions on those little faces! it drives me nuts that so many people refuse to see animals as intelligent beings, with personalities and feelings.
How in the world do you identify each one, it's so hard to tell who's who. I have three that visit me and I feed, only one small female can I distinguish from the other two. The other two I can Not tell apart.

Did one of them ever jump in? I had a little friend that came to the back door for several years and some days she really wanted to enter the house while I was getting ready to throw out the nuts. She would never eat from my hand though, even though she would sit and visit with me.
Did you try to throw some peanut butter on a piece of coconut for the squirel who are shy / can't come because other squirels are already eating ? or you keep the peanut butter bowl spécialy for the squirels who comes to you for an extra reward ?
I don't throw peanut butter on the ground because it makes a mess and I can't clean it as easily as I can on my window. They take turns though, and all the squirrels get a chance to come up to my window and eat some peanut/almond/nut butter.

With peanut butter they don't even have to crack the nut open oh, it makes them spoiled
