Well they're stats arent even that good but they still are so op in masses like 15 cannons .U cant even counter them with culverines because they are culverines because of their speed u can easily fight culverines in the most sitation because u get the range difference behind u very fast because they're so speedy.I think they fight better than u might think when u see the stats.
Horse Artillery is the best, it way faster at every aspect like mobility and reload time, and deals allot of damage even to cav, spam allot of them with other unit to cover and you'll see hell.
The Horse Artillery is the best all-around artillery for me as it is relatively cheap and can be produced without relying on factories and Home City Shipments. But just for the heck of it, the Congreve Rocket is my truly favourite artillery piece and I love using the British so....
It's not cheap even relatively, it's the most expensive artillery you can train in terms of gold and only the canon elephant is more expensive in total ressources.
Seems like the euro civs always take the votes even when the units arent as good eg. Culverin vs Light Cannon. Light cannon doesn't need to switch into limber mode has the same range and multpliers against artillery but still rips apart buildings and infantry. I think its because most people dont play Iroquois much? Same problem with seige elephants i guess? Those things are op!
Last First they are terrible against infantry, absolutely! But they more more of a mortar culverin than a falconet. Honestly 2 or 3 siege elephants is plenty. Guarded with gurkhas they are pretty difficult to counter
Last First culvs dont get a bonus against them, no. India is probably the worst civ to balance eco and military because a villie keeps showing up every shipment even when you have enough and the elephants are impossible to mass. Ah well the seige elephants are good at what they do but bad at everything else but thats what the consolate is for i guess
Last First to answer your question about culverins, yes they get a multiplier BUT they also have the negative multiplier against cav so the bonus is halved plus the seige elephant has a massive amount of hitpoints and counts as a culverin as well so can take out culverins faster than they are killed (unless range is a factor but seige elephants are also very fast)
Last First grenadiers are fantastic units if the enemy has no cavalry- and yes japan is ridiculously overpowered and with that export card you can mass those stupid consulate samarai that have like 200 meelee damage with like a 3 or 5 multiplier agaianst cav and 2 area of effect... i never play as japan online it just feels so... lame. China would be the best civ in the game if it wasnt for the banner armies. The eco, export, shipments, diciples, units (missing a dragoon and musk type unit but more than make up for it) 2 factories (wonder plus consulate) but being unable to carefully pick units makes countering very difficult. Also that they have no good seige without artillery and hand mortars are... questionable at taking down buildings. India is powerful age 2 becuase you have every unit type in the game (musk skirm pike lancer dragoon that flail elephant) and a fort and enough wood to acually build houses. Late game they suffer from getting housed (villie with every shipment becomes real frustrating when you have 90 vills already) from elephants and vills competing and your units train soooo slow. Japan has similar problems with slow train time but the mobile daimyos can compensate by dropping troops where you need them and japan units are OP to the max. Even their cav archer unit is amazing

Nah they suck against cav and inf send in 30 husars and they're dead.They're ok u can take a few to counter artelary and destroy buildings and they do dmg to inf but its not that high that i'd call them alrounder.Horse artelary is way better because they can handle everything quiet good.

It is quite an obvious weakness that everyone knows it. Even HA is weak against cav. The Light Artillery is an all rounder, slow, expensive, and less damage than HA, but it had one of advantage that all artilleries do not had. Range and switch mode. The Iroqouis light artillery had more range compared to the HA, so it can act like a culverin against all artillery, even horse artillery as well. It also had some part of Falconet power which makes it effective against infantry and buildings as well. I once got my HA division ambushed and pounded hard by Iroqouis AI light artillery when I positioned my HA on the Iroqouis cavalry units. Moreover, Iroqouis light artillery had faster switch mode compared to HA. Its Bombard and Limber mode had equal speed, so yeah, this kind of allow the artillery to instantly change to mobile and ready for combat.

Alrounder means that the unit has to be atleast ok in dealing with all other unit types. But the artillery has as u and I said a clear weakness , cavalry. Well they atleast do ok damage to range cav but get absolutly obliterated by heavy cav ... even with masses . The horse artillery is more like an alrounder it can even obliterate heavy cav and does more splash damage (correct me if I'm wrong) its fast so it can counter artillery pretty well even culverines a little bit and inf has no chance to do any damage.
Light cannons are by far my favorite artillery. It is basically a mix between a culverin and falconet. It has a bigger range than any combat arty except for culverin and per pop it packs a bigger punch than falconet/ horse arty. So they win every arty vs arty fight (with the exception of the culverin) and do well against other units as well. Another good thing about them is that they have a descent speed while in firing mode compared to most artillery.
SIMPLE RULE : Best on fast destroy of buildings : India Elephants 780 damage . deal with it mortar ;) plus 1435 Hit Points deal with it+ instant shoots Best for destroy units : Great Bombard
I'd say the Hatamoto Samurai with any Cavalry capable of over 75 siege damage as a close second. That is unless your monitor ships can make the range...
Spanish unction boosted artillery. The +62% damage to modified stats is ridiculously powerful. Monitors, with the right deck, deal 733 damage at a range of 100.
Indian elephant artillery is best because in battle fast movement is also important together with infantry and cavalry unit their is an advantage of quick victory. Compare to other artillery is slow doing bombard mode,limber mode enemy units like coyote runner make their asses rip in seconds...
My favourite is the culverin. It's such a troll artillery unit. Your opponent spends all their gold in this really powerful artillery army, and then a few of these small shit end their dreams of conquest while their other troops get taken out bc the cannons took so much pop space. And then they are superb anti-ship units, with all that range and damage. 3 culverins can take out a galleon before it can even take a shot at them.
My usual go-to is heavy cannon because I like producing arty in factories so I can save my gold for other units. Also morutarus are crazy fun to use :)
for mortors they can't really go after ground targets at all that are not buildings unless I think you can use the bombard ground order then and only then I think they can take out infantry etc.
Still think the Falconet is the best u get it sooner In age 3 doesn't cost as much pop and gets all the upgrades actually very good for the price and pop nothing it can't do deadly against infantry and good against buildings with decent hit points and speed plus they are cheaper

70 * 15 with upgrades... that´s 1050dmg at a range of 34, while a Rocket has 2025dmg at a Range of 28, and the big and most important difference is that a culverine outranges a Frigate, which has 30 Range! And I know.. Mortarships have a Range of 36...

I disagree I don't understand why people think great bombard are better than heavy canons... Same HP, but the heavy canon is doing 200*3 against infantry which is 600 against 500 for the GB. And it has a 6s reload time to it's even more in comparison. So the heavy canon is better against artillery, infantry, buildings, ships, cavalry ... There is only one difference which is the area of damage... I agree that the single shot of the GB can do more damage but then you wait an eternity. Then for anti artillery unit, the infantry mortar is better than culv because it beats culvs actually. Thanks to their low cost, the shot of the culv will be an overkill. Their reload time is 4s, far better. And the gatling gun isn't as good as it should be also... basically worse than an organ gun which makes non sense historically speaking.
I think age of empires III should of had 6 ages, with a new age the Enlightment Age being located between the Fortress and the Industrial Age. Also the Revolution mechanic gets reworked so that when you go revolution you enter a ceasefire moment with your current opponents and have to fight waves of soldiers from your former home country seeking to reclaim thier colony. If you managed to beat back the Loyalist forces you won your revolution and then you get to immediantly skip the Industrial Age and go straight for the Imperial Age as your new nation however you would have to rebuild your economy which is going to be harder cause your opponent would have use the ceasefire to seize the resource locations of the map for themselves. Also you will get a new unit roster depending on which Reveloutionary nation you choose.
Well for anti building(since voting is over) im more a archer knight type....i mean they take buildings (except forts) down in seconds xD and even agasinst forts they play quite well...mostly cuse they even can defend alone vs small groups of units. and i mean cmon xD its a culverinebombard unit xD
If i play with my friends and they both are ottomans and i play with dutch as soon as they reach age 4 im dead becouse the bombards just delete entire skirm/halb armys
My Dutch army consists of 20 horse arty and 30 ruyters. Main power comes from the arty and the ruyter are there to cover arty weaknesses. A great asset of this army is also ofcourse it's mobility.
What? Strongest artillery overall is definiely heavy cannons lol. They get beat head to head by rockets but do way better than them against infantry. Shoot wayy faster than great bombard.
You don't actually say why Hose Artillery is better than Falconet. They cost 6 pop compared to 5, so 5 of them (30 pop) should be stronger than 6 Falconets (30 pop). I don't see this!

They're very effectiv with dutch or russian because u can spam ruyter or musk in combination with horse art.

I don't understand why people think great bombard are better than heavy canons... Same HP, but the heavy canon is doing 200*3 against infantry which is 600 against 500 for the GB. And it has a 6s reload time to it's even more in comparison.
So the heavy canon is better against artillery, infantry, buildings, ships, cavalry ...
There is only one difference which is the area of damage... I agree that the single shot of the GB can do more damage but then you wait an eternity.
Then for anti artillery unit, the infantry mortar is better than culv because it beats culvs actually. Thanks to their low cost, the shot of the culv will be an overkill. Their reload time is 4s, far better.
And the gatling gun isn't as good as it should be also... basically worse than an organ gun which makes non sense historically speaking.

I think age of empires III should of had 6 ages, with a new age the Enlightment Age being located between the Fortress and the Industrial Age. Also the Revolution mechanic gets reworked so that when you go revolution you enter a ceasefire moment with your current opponents and have to fight waves of soldiers from your former home country seeking to reclaim thier colony. If you managed to beat back the Loyalist forces you won your revolution and then you get to immediantly skip the Industrial Age and go straight for the Imperial Age as your new nation however you would have to rebuild your economy which is going to be harder cause your opponent would have use the ceasefire to seize the resource locations of the map for themselves. Also you will get a new unit roster depending on which Reveloutionary nation you choose.
You basically just described Revolt. It's in Aoe3 Definitive Edition.

Well for anti building(since voting is over) im more a archer knight type....i mean they take buildings (except forts) down in seconds xD and even agasinst forts they play quite well...mostly cuse they even can defend alone vs small groups of units. and i mean cmon xD its a culverinebombard unit xD

My Dutch army consists of 20 horse arty and 30 ruyters. Main power comes from the arty and the ruyter are there to cover arty weaknesses. A great asset of this army is also ofcourse it's mobility.
What? Strongest artillery overall is definiely heavy cannons lol. They get beat head to head by rockets but do way better than them against infantry. Shoot wayy faster than great bombard.

You don't actually say why Hose Artillery is better than Falconet. They cost 6 pop compared to 5, so 5 of them (30 pop) should be stronger than 6 Falconets (30 pop). I don't see this!
