It is hard to put into words how something can change your life, I have just watched this with tears in my eyes, remembering how when my back went back in 09 that I was going to lose everything in life that I enjoyed. The way you described being 'Stubborn' but having to come to terms with what was happening to you after the op but at same time you never gave in, like you, I am ex-forces and also from family with forces history and strength is part and parcel of your mindset, I still have problems with my back that makes life never mind fishing hard and like you I push myself too far at times putting me back to bed, mine is an issue that will stay with me, you sir will get better and put this behind you, your tales of your journey, the downs, and the eventual ups is insperational, to say the least. I, like so many other anglers, are glad to see you back at it and look forward to seeing many more vlogs of your 'carpy' exploits. Chilly you are a legend and a gent.
