Chamonix is SERIOUSLY one of the most beautiful Alp village ever!! I am lucky enought to live not very far away from it and I ve been going there since when I was a kid and ALWAYS LOVED IT SO MUCH!! it s a paradise!!!
We've been watching your videos since the early 1990s and used them to help educate our kids. They are still as excellent as ever. You are making the world a better place. Thank you.
I use to live here in summer and took my parents up this lift it is very very expensive but it's truly grand! However my favorite was a very cheep option, a hike up the mountain in the close by Les Houches (10 minutes) it is one of my fondest memories in life, up there was a goat cheese farm and we would bring a baguette up the lift and hike to the cheese farm across the plain nestled between the mountains and have lunch there then hike back, it was one of my parents greatest memories of life too, truly spectacular in the summertime.
Absolutely entrancing - this video made my day ❤️ If I could go there, I would. But since I can't and may never have the chance, this video acted as a virtual guide for me.
This is the first time I've watched your vlog. I have to say that I really like it, not only the breathtaking sights you've brought to us but also your voice and how you described them.
I've been here. It's amazing. Just a warning, I was dizzy and had a splitting headache for 2 weeks straight after climbing the Aiguille de Midi. The air pressure did something to my brain. I wouldn't recommend it to people over 40. Or at least take an Aspirin before going all the way up. I am impressed with how Rick Steve is in such a good shape, jealous in a good way. 😊🏔️
Greetings 🙏Thats a amazing travel expe rience & awesome journey to Chamonix France..The views are gorgeous.Great narration & excellent photography. It's again one of your wonderful contribution to high adventure, zest for travel ,great geographical content & fun.Awesome.💯 Thank you. Many goodwishes as always. 👍👌🙏🙏♾💐

Wow! Chamonix ! I like a lot this place ! In Chamonix there is the Mont Blanc and especially the Drus! A mountain very cool ! At home i have a photo with my son and the Drus ! This is really cool photo for me ! Hello from Italy ! 👋😃👍👏👏👏😊🤗❤💕
@@Alessandro2302 I know ! But the Mont Blanc is italian at Courmayeur and French at Chamonix . For to go to Chamonix you need to pass from the gallery Traforo del Monte Bianco . I gone there different time because my husband is a alpine guide . By then the Mont Blanc is near to Courmayeur ( italian ) and after the gallery the Mont Blanc is near to Chamonix .
@@baptistebrigand5882 le sommet du Mont Blanc est partagé entre la France et l’Italie c’est un fait et tu ne peux le contredire. Le reste n’est que litige par rapport au traité de Turin
Thank you Steve for the wonderful images and enthusiastic, well documented commentary. All you need to do is work a wee bit more on how to pronounce the word 'aiguille' 😄🤣 I was born and raised in Chamonix, where my Dad was a mountain guide. Now I live far, far away and my last visit to Chamonix was in 2008. I was very impressed then, at how the town had improved in every way, and how hospitable the locals had become. When I was a kid there in the 1960s it was a VERY different story. The natives had little respect for tourists back then, and often displayed rough and rude behavior. So in 2008 I was overjoyed to see that things CAN sometimes change in a good way ! The one very sad change I noticed in 2008, however, was the disastrous effect of global warming... the Mer de Glace has receded massively (by almost 3 km in length and 200 m in thickness), so has the once majestic Glacier des Bossons, while its 'twin', the Glacier de Taconnaz has totally disappeared. It was a shock 😥
Very thanks for this upload. I was reading a book of Indian Writer Manav Kaul and he pushed me to youtube-it that how Chamonix and Mont Blanc look. I am thrilled by your video and will plan to visit there soon. Thanks and love from India.
Rick why don't you travel to Bhutan? It's an amazing place to visit. Bhutan has natural beauty with high mountains, beautiful valleys and lovely sacred lakes. Tiger's Nest at Paro is a must visit place. Thanks for sharing videos of beautiful. places
Rick Steves really nice video, may I ask that the drone shots in this video were taken by yourself or you added some copy right free shots. May I also ask that which camera and drone you have used for this video.
Lovely vlog ! We are travelling to Chamonix in October last week , is it a good time to visit that time ? Also , we have a French Schengen visitors visa , can we travel to Chamonix from Paris via Geneva ? Regards
I wonder when was this shot? judging from how people areobviously not observing the health protocols, me surmise this was shot way before the virus has become how it has affected the way of life today. Yes watching Rick Steve's video gives you the virtual feeling of being there.
very interesting , Thanks for sharing , best wishes , if you think to visit Jordan and Petra - Dead Sea i will be Happy if you write to me , be safe with my best wishes
