Bobby Darin was too wild for Connie. She was an old-fashioned girl who wanted, and deserved, a traditional wholesome marriage. Bobby's wild side is what made him so sexy, but you don't pin hopes of steady, faithful love on a guy like that.
Nice presentation of Connie, excellent collection of photos. Good summary of her career, and the etiquette way of describing the horrible assault Connie suffered in 1974. Excellent mention of how resilient Connie has endured. Though many labeled her father as the bad guy, but George was typical old school Italian father (even though he was born in US but culture was the same). Much like parents that are protective of their children, George like many Italian heritage were more direct. Connie said in an interview, "only two ways an Italian girl leaves home. In a wedding dress or in a casket!" Connie wrote about her thoughts when Bobby suggested they elope which she thought she's not ready to leave home that quickly and felt she might hinder Bobby's career. He said, "I can get a job to support us" but Connie felt this is somebody who is going to reach the big time and she couldn't picture him as a "civilian." She was obviously right, not only can Bobby sing, he can also act, dance, and play several musical instruments. Regarding Connie's movie career, she did five films, four MGM movies and a TV movie where she played a nun. Connie has said she had no interest in movies, doing them was really boring. Start off the day very early for makeup, then wait while they set up cameras and lighting. Do a take. Then re-arrange cameras and everthing, do another take. Most of the day is spent sitting around while they re-arrange equipment. But Connie even with little training in dramatics and film making did her roles quite well. If the film was a flop (i.e. Follow The Boys), I'd say that's MGM's fault of poor scriptwriting and editing. In ways Connie's story is remarkable, getting into the business that can be very cruel with no connections. And then able to survive it all with more tragedies other stars have endured. Her voice is still unique. And also Connie is beautiful and sexy like Gina Lollobrigida and also wore all those beautiful dresses very well.
Interesting video. I can not blame Bobby Darin for any misbehavior. Come on, he was a very young red-blooded man 👨just wanting to have a little fun with the ladies. That doesn't mean he would not have made a good husband later with Connie !........
Loved her singing

Great Bio! Thank you
Awesome channel 😎
Looks like Dick Clark
This was pretty accurate. Connie is the best.
I think Dick had a grown boys crush on her. He certainly supported her personally and professionally down through the years.
Connie was beautiful and had such a sweet voice

No excuse.
I think I read that the women were two prostitutes....
Marriage does not stop philanderers.
He was married. This happened when Sandra was getting therapy for her gambling. If she had found out it would have sent her over the edge.
Yes it does! And why would she want to wait around so this dog could "have a little fun with the ladies"?
I wonder if he was alive when someone broke into her house and violated her.
I believe it was a year after he died and it happened at Howard Johnson’s Lodge in New York, 1974, after attending a music festival.
please do better with the ai narration
