You're the reason we're here.... You're the reason we're singing........ Open up the heavens...We want to see you... Open up the floodgates...A mighty river...... Flowing from your heart...Filling every part of our praise...... Show us, show us your glory Show us, show us your power Show us, show us your glory, Lord......
Thanks for the great post. I'm playing this song with our WTeam next Sunday. None of the 'instructional posts' of this song are teaching the correct strum pattern. Bless them as they serve...but it does drive me nuts. Lol. Luv the harmony here. Sweet.
Very wonderful. Just preaching on the rebuilding of the Temple and read Haggi and Zecheriah last night. That has always been the goal, to come together in a familiar place set aside (holy) for eternal things and see God. captures it so well. thanks.
Yep. And you know for a fact, the Lord is about to really do all you sing about ! When you cannot prevent smiling, God is surely there ! Thank you sooooo much for your faith ! Makes a BEAUTIFUL sound !
passtheparcel2007 Vertical Church Band is more than capable, instrumentally and vocally , to support Meredith. I am blessed to be able to see her at Celebrate Freedom- Atlanta on Sept 5, 2015. God Bless Meredith Andrews !!

Hey, @SethBMusic, it's hard to credit just one pianist on "Forever Yours". I did purchase the CD, but I did an MP3 download and there was no music booklet included. I'll send you a private message which includes a URL to the credits. Robert Quintana is listed as being on keyboards, and Jessica Shepphard is credited with piano, as well as Walker Beach. I suspect Walker did most of the piano, but I don't know for sure.
I love your voice,I love your music,I love the way you minister but I know you (Meredith) & countless others do not like or respect people of my kind but believe it or not I go to church I study His word and I am a man who gets on his knees and prays with all my heart and soul I am just a little different from the "Religious persons view" but I love your music God bless your voice!
Hey Bob! You said you keep up with all the background musicians in Christian music... have you ever found out who is the pianist on Gateway Worship's "Forever Yours" album? Thanks!
Very nice, very, very nice, but nowhere do I see the guy playing the guitar and singing background vocals acknowledged. He is very good. I know he probably doesn't really care about being credited, since he is doing this for the glory of God, but please credit him. Plus, I am simply curious who he is, I keep up with all the background musicians in Christian songs.
+angie m He is using the thumb just to fret the low e string while muting the A string, which also enables his first finger to play the chorus riff by lifting his ring finger then followed by lifting his first finger. He does the same thing with his first finger after switching to the C chord.
Cool song, but asking God to show His glory is like asking the seas to be wet and large....you see, God shows His glory every minute of every day in His Word, we are encouraged by Jesus to act upon the powers that He gave us, when He said that everything He has done, we will do and greater things we will do. If you do not believe Him then you will not see His glory on this side of Heaven as some of us do who do believe what He said. Please be encouraged to follow Him in these words and more.
I do believe most Christians don't really acknowledge everything that the Lord has given to actually show His glory and majesty. However, this is worship and they are asking Him to move within the service so that if there is someone in the church that has not accepted Christ as their Savior can feel His power and see His glory and be moved to receive salvation.
Meredeth Andrews surely loves the Lord and is His humble servant. BUT!! This is what happens when we write songs and don't know what we are singing about. This is laughable if it were not so devistating. The Bible only has one incident where the phrase "Show me your Glory" is found. It was from Moses and God told Moses that if He were to show Moses his glory then Moses would be toast! Rather, God put Moses in the cleft of the Rock (Rock of Ages) and the "backside" of God passed through. This is so beautiful as we have come to see that the "backside of God" is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ. This is the way that God deals with us. Christ, fully God, took on humanity and as Phip 1. tells us that Christ emptied Himself of His glory so that we could see God in the face of Jesus Christ. If Andrews knew what she wrote she would realize that we are asking God to shou up and annialite us. The song, on the surface is, at best, fun to sing, but it belongs in the very large trash can that so many contemporary songs written today belong. And, one more thing, in her interview Andrews makes the comment that "God is welcomed" to our gathering. Really? It is God who has welcomed us into his house and there we are to worship Him on His terms, not our terms. Any worship leader who selects this song should take some time to read the scriptures, and a good theology book would help too.
We do this song ALL the time at my church down in children's ministry! Thanks, they love it so much.
I can't stop singing it !! Once and once again!! GOD OPEN UP THE HEAVENS AS WE PRAISE YOU!!
This song is definitely an anthem. Thank you Meredith! Praise God for your voice, this song is so full of joyful praise :)
Such joy fills my heart when I hear this on radio. Thank you so much, for all you do.
I first heard this song on the radio and since then I can't stop listening to it! I love it!
These amazing acoustic versions are making me wish for an acoustic worship album at some point. Awesome song for the Church!
Next to Amazing Grace possibly the BEST gospel song ever written. Meredith you absolutely ROCK.
You're the reason we're here....
You're the reason we're singing........
Open up the heavens...We want to see you...
Open up the floodgates...A mighty river......
Flowing from your heart...Filling every part of our praise......
Show us, show us your glory
Show us, show us your power
Show us, show us your glory, Lord......

Great song and story! Amputee guitar dude rocks! Be blessed!
This song is so awesome! Yes! Open up the heavens! We want to see You!
The song stands on its on own, without a big thumping band enforcing the message!
When the band backs her, it rises to new heights!
Awesome!

Chris Dee what do you mean people of my kind? Why would you assume Christians don't like you?
Will you post a link to the chords/tab? Please:)
Hey Bob! You said you keep up with all the background musicians in Christian music... have you ever found out who is the pianist on Gateway Worship's "Forever Yours" album? Thanks!
guitar chord key of G, capo 3
Media being blocked for France. Could you do something for those who live abroad please?
Do you have vertical worship channel? th-cam.com/video/ogGOlGswStA/w-d-xo.html

Is this song in Drop D tuning. Playing D chords on capo 3?
It's cool, so long as it sounds right. ;)
can i have the strum pattern PLEASE?
down down *down down up down *up down *up down *up .... emphasizing the 3rd "down" and the last 3 "ups" is what gives it the right "feel"
my mom knows her i havent met her tho
what is that first chord he's playing?!?!?
it's driving me crazy, his shape looks like chord of F
angie m It looks like a G chord, he's just using a different fingering.
It's a G variation.. mainly a G2 switching to a G6.. He's just using his thumb on the G and playing like a Dsus on the top.
angie m The chord does appear to be some variation of G, but with capo on 3rd fret it sounds in key of A#.
+angie m He is using the thumb just to fret the low e string while muting the A string, which also enables his first finger to play the chorus riff by lifting his ring finger then followed by lifting his first finger. He does the same thing with his first finger after switching to the C chord.
+Terry Fitzgerald Gm? We're playing this in Bb at my church... If he's playing in Bb, too, then the vi chord is Gm. But he's also got a capo..
sorry guitar newb here
