Hakeem Warrick, huh? You a real one from Memphis. I was so pissed when they traded Rudy Gay to Toronto. I'm not from Tennessee or anything, but I always wanted to see Rudy be the star and lead that team. That series they had against the Clippers in 2012 was a hard-nosed, grind-it-out series. That was, in my opinion, the closest thing we seen to 90's basketball in the whole 2010's. That Grizzly defense was crazy! I was so pissed when they lost Game 7 at home after coming back from being down 1-3. I was looking forward to seeing him shine more and leading that team after missing the playoffs for so many years. *SMFH*

Obviously it would have to be a perfect scenario as Kwame needed to get to the league ASAP in order to provide for his family, but he really needed patient mentoring from a great college coach to really polish his game and help him improve his mentality. He prob needed to work with a sports psychologist too to help with his performance anxiety issues, something I don't even think was available back then. Well videos like these completely prove to me, that Kwame wasn't an all time bust. He was a bust and a pretty big one, but now that i have seen Anthony Bennett, who is not just bad, he is horrific. I have never seen an nba player with so little skill. I know that they played in different positions, but Kwame at least had some post moves, had a pretty good field goal percentage through most of his career and managed to have a couple really solid games during each season. That is much more than i can say about Bennett. The guy is playing in Europe now and even there he is a total scrub, averaging only 1.5 points a game in Euroleague. Kwame would have dominated if he ever played in Europe i think. Seriously, Kwame looks like DeAndre compared to Bennett. So i really don't understad why still so many people make fun of him

Kwame was more of a mediocre big man than anything else, but he did manage to at least be an NBA caliber player for a decade, which is better than Bennett. He was a huge disappointment for a top pick of course, but a part of that can be blamed on an NBA franchise gambling on an unproven kid out of high school.

Kwame had some touches under the rim, he also knew how to shoot mid range jumper, which can be valuable in today's nba, but not the early 2000s. He was okay as a defender but nowhere never marcus camby or deandre Jordan level. Only If he went to college for two years to polish his skills and improve his discipline, everything would be different. He might be at least a elite defender, or even an all-star level player.

Here's the thing with Kwame..... He was solid, very solid. 1v1, he was killing people. But he had a ton of pressure and critics on him. However, look at him vs other high schoolers.
KG - Allowed to come in and grow, had strong vet leaders, got another young star, then took over.
Dwight - Allowed to come in and grow, took his time, built muscle, dominated.
Kobe - Allowed to come in and absorb everything, then took over. Compared to Jordan.
TMac - Allowed to come in and grow, didn't really take over until he went to his second team.
Kwame - came in, expectations were set for him.to dominate. Wasn't allowed to absorb the game, heard about it all the time. Listen to all these people now talk about how crazy Kwame was treated and you'll see.
Despite that, man had a 10 year career. Was he the best player in that draft? No. Was he the worst? No. Swap him and Eddy curry that year and I best Kwame has a much better career, probably 15/9/2 and gets molded a lot better with younger guys and Oakley as his vet.

Kwame said this himself. So if he went to a different team he could’ve, might’ve had better numbers. He went to a team with Jordan who wanted proven talent. Then got traded to a team with Kobe who wanted proven talent. Look at KB shot attempts 6-8 per game. How can I get numbers with so little attempts. If he had’ve gotten a few more looks maybe 10-13.
