Lithium ion batteries are NOT renewable! They are NOT green, and they are produced using so called non renewable energy sources. They cannot be recycled, and the used materials are highly toxic. Plus, the biggest elephant in the room, the raw material s needed to produced them are finite and in relatively limited amounts. Batteries only store electricity, they still need nuclear, gas or coal power plants to produce the energy to store. and don't say solar or wind either, because they are also NON renewable and have to be disposed off because the materials cannot be recycled.
