Hi Omar How about making a video about freshies for spring n summer? Too many choices like Lacoste L'Homme Intense, Rochas L'Homme, Prada L'Homme, Mont Blanc Legend, BVLgari etc.. Maybe, reduce the number of redundancies in freshies too.
unfair to do this to your viewers. i am jewish and like watching your content. i obviously think different then you on this metter but why mix politics into this nice relaxing channel?
Well some people we watch for entertainment, some for good deals, some to make me feel not as bad for my fragrance addiction and then I watch you Omar for some insight and creative content
Redundancy goes beyond similar notes and DNA, as you point out in this video. Some fragrances, like Naxos and Tobacco Vanille, simply have limited use, and owning both (or multiple special occasion fragrances) may be a waste of money for many (not all) people. I appreciate your insight and thoughts on this subject. You should produce more like this.
I need more videos like this. Exactly what i´m looking for because I want to limit my fragrance purchase a bit and find the best alternative that I prefer out of the different options in each type of scent profiles.
Hey Omar, This video really is doing a great service for fragrance enthusiasts, thank you. If only I had watched this video earlier in My journey, I would have more options and less redundancy.
really really like this idea for a video. when i first started my collection about a year ago i would just buy whatever a popular youtuber said. now i have 3-4 fragrances that all sort of smell the same. keep them coming!
Fantastic topic! This is something I wonder about a lot when considering new full bottle purchases. Gotta totally agree on the Naxos take. As nice as it is to smell like Tobacco Vanille at a holiday gathering, Naxos does the job just as well. I also find it a little difficult to wear. It's not a casual scent, but if I'm properly dressed up I want to wear Alexandria II or Oud Satin Mood.
Thank you! However I have Dior Homme intense and Valentino with iris of course, and I love both of them. They are two of my favourites and I don't think I would change them. Valentino has more projection that is what I like, while intense is beautiful undoubtedly but sits closer to the skin. But I appreciate your insight and bringing the subject to light.
Yes, Naxos and Tobacco Vanille are both expensive, but 100ml of Naxos can be had at discounters for almost 100 bucks less than 100ml of Tobacco Vanille. 100ml of Naxos can often be had for around what 60ml of Sauvage Elixir can be had. I know which one I'd buy. Shop at discounters people.
Imo jpg le male elixir can give you naxos vibes so go for either one! Tobacco vanille is one of my favorite if not my favorite fragrance ever. Great vid omar❤
Naxos is my favorite fragrance in my collection. I have a 9ml sample of Tobacco Vanille which I love and hope to have one day. Having said that, Oud Wood was more of a priority for me, and the sale I got was one I couldn't pass on, so I may never end up with Tobacco Vanille.
Too late😂😂😂😂. I already went crazy with the Iris Fragrances. I have a few Different ones from the Gentleman line and a couple from Dior and an alternative to Valentino/ St Hilaire Amber Chic. You are right though. I could’ve just bought DH Intense and probably been just fine. DH Parfum is awesome too.
Amen man! I don't knock anyone if they like and want clones. Everyone should buy what they want. Having said that, I don't want clones. I'd rather have the real thing.
No one fragrance can take the place of the other. Each fragrance has nuances that are irreplaceable. For the sake of the impact of purchases on our pockets, I agree with your groupings. I understand that you are not impressed by Stronger With You Absolutely because of how similar it is to the SWY line overall, but comparing it to The Most Wanted is not appropriate to me. They do have almost the same vibe, yes, however SWYA smells of higher quality ingredients and is more smooth as opposed to the sharp spicy, screechy, bubblegummy, overly sweet Ethyl Maltol blend that is Azzaro's TMW. I will say that I have both and had TMW for longer and before getting the SWY - I loved it. But since i've had and tested both for a longer timespan, I have to say that in this case it's actually worth to save up for the slightly higher price tag of the Armani's, knowing I don't even wear TMW anymore.
The Dior Homme Intense take is true, however i dont think that the Givenchys are redundant. Especially reserve privée and the original eau the parfum are amazing and can stand next to homme intense But only if you search for something.... more/slightly different than "just" an evening Iris scent. If an evening iris scent is excatly what you want then yeah, go with Dior, but if possible i recommend trying the givenchys, i like em (except for boisè and society)
I have no issue at all with having both Dior Homme Intense and Gentlemen Reserve Privee. If i HAD to choose, I wouldn't even have to ponder it, I'd take DHI; however, I don't have to choose, so I have both 🙂
Really appreciate your video. Feels super honest and helpful. You really cater what you’re viewers are looking for. Thanks for solving a lot of confusion for FOMO anxious buyers 😅🤣❤️
The one Luminous Night, and Initio Side Effect can fit in here as well. Similar scent profiles. I have both, and actually struggle on where and when to wear them.
I actually sold Side Effect a couple weeks ago for exactly this reason. They smell similar enough so there was no way both would actually get worn. Side Effect garnered more compliments, but I like The One Luminous Night a bit more and I could get more for Side Effect, so selling Side Effect was the choice.
@jimlittle5769 it is actually the weirdest conundrum, as Side Effect, at such a high price point. Is actually easier to find than LN. I honestly smthought about trading SE (For Oajan), but it might actually be a more usable LN.🤯
To me, Sedley is strictly for warm/hot weather. Percival, to me, is more like a standard blue fragrance that doesn't shine in one season more than another and is equally nice all year round. I chose Sedley because I was cold weather heavy and wanted some great hot weather fragrances.
OMAR! Video idea, whats the next generation of mens fragrances going to be (post sauvage aventus) kind of a prediction of where you think the industry is going! 😊
i loved this series, esp for newbies and also there are lot of fragrance in single type so hard to choose 1 best out of all, and usually things can get redundant and waste on the pocket.
Im glad someone finally put an effort in pronunciation and Gentleman Society got its justice. Unfortunately still waiting for correct version of Tom Ford Beau de Jour (J in Jour is pronounced as h, like in Spanish)
Interesting video. I love the original Stronger With You DNA, and was looking to upgrade from the EDT to Absolutely, but was also thinking of The Most Wanted. The thing is I'm no longer in the clubbing age range and do not want to waste money on fragrances I will hardly ever wear. I must confess I own both Spice Bomb Extreme and Man in Black. They are very similar, but I like the added booziness of MiB from the rum note (also found in SWY Absolutely). Definitely Autumn/Winter fragrances and won't get much use outside of these seasons
I think it's crazy that you included both Le Male Elixir and Naxos in the same video, but they weren't compared to one another. Naxos and Le Male Elixir have a ton of note similarities and are redundant even for a semi-large collection. I don't see Pegasus and Le Male Elixir having any redundancy unless you are going for a very small collection.
I didn't want to agree with you Elixir and OFG but I do. I find alot more occasions to wear Elixir. Not too many for OFG even though I love the fragrance. For a while I had Lalique White in Black and Detour Noir. When I bought my bottle of Layton, I gave my father the Detour Noir bottle. Even though Layton and redundant, I rather spray the Lalique often and wait to use Layton for when I go out.
Yeah, I try to have a small collection (under 20 pieces) and at some point, I decided to have different aromas that I liked. So, with that in mind I ditched some fragrances because they were pretty similar (I dropped Office, 'cos I kept Hacivat, L'immensité over Sur La route, etc). Having said that, I don't think is too redundant to have Naxos and Tobacco Vanille, or maybe is just me. I have them, and I love them. Greetings from Mexico, Omar!
Naxos being “difficult to pull off” is an extremely hot take. Honey, tobacco, vanilla, lavender. I wear it anytime other than blistering heat and only get good reception. I think most people agree
For Azzaro The Most Wanted, are you referring to the Parfum or the Eau De Parfum Intense? Which are you usually recommending in your videos? Got 10 ml samples of both, but they sort of smell the same. After the initial (whatever this means) the EDP Intense gives a "hospital" vibe on my skin while the Parfum does not.
I love this video. I think you should make a video for redundant fragrances but describe the occasion of when to wear them. For example, you have a signature scent but you wear one as a daily and the other for special occasions. Idk if that makes sense..
Nice video. But i strongly disagree with a lot of the fragrances mentioned. You can definitely have both a lot of those fragrance. For example stronger with you and azzaro most wanted, la male elixir and pegasus. Jpg Le beau and allure Homme sport extreme among other fragrances you mentioned. My advise is to buy what you want as long as you like it. 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🎈
Great fragrance line from you Omar, can I request you to create a fragrance without the use of phthalates, artificial musk or other harmful substances that affects our hormones, thanks
Love the note of iris and I still want to build up that part of my collection with all the bangers mentioned. I only have Prada L’Homme and intense. I find it fun to see other house takes on the note. I just painfully wait for a good discount price lol. Valentino oumo intense, DHI, gentlemen privee, JPG le mal le parfum, and Armani code parfum are on my wishlist.
Great video, as always ! Quick question Does allure homme sport exclusively come in EDT or is there an EDP version, too? If so, which would be your recommendation?
Have to disagree with the concept of Tobacco Vanille and Naxos being redundant, mostly because I don’t think they serve the same purpose. While both are great for special occasions, Naxos is far more versatile simple because it doesn’t heavily focus on the tobacco scent. I think I agree with The Perfume Guy that Naxos is basically a fougère fragrance with a smooth tobacco note, while Tobacco Vanille is a vanilla fragrance with a mild tobacco note. I understand budget is a concern, but I would make the comparison between Tobacco Vanille and PDM’s Herod, which are more similar and are attempting to achieve the same ends. I might agree with Omar if his comparison was Fougère D’Argent to Naxos.
I don’t see a lot of similarities between some of these fragrances. For example Oud for Greatness and Sauvage Elixer. I think those are two must haves that don’t share a scent profile at all. I would say buy the knock off Oud for Glory and the real Sauvage Elixer. Or if you want to save even more you could get Asad instead of Dior Elixer, it’s a little sweeter and better for compliments in my opinion.
OFG and Elixir definitely share a scent profile, Haltane too. Both have that sweet spicy woody vibe, Elixir just happens to be more lavender dominant though. While OFG more oud dominant and Haltane is sweeter cuz the praline
Literally this video is what I've been after for ages!! Just git Montale Arabians Tonka and i already have Instant Crush by Mancera. Very similar scents with me preferring Montale possibly. Then i got SWY edt and my Azzaro TMW os literally like the louder young version of it. Enjoy the channel mate, its the dogs bollocks 🔥
You know I was really confused seeing tobacco Vanille and Xerjoff Naxos because they don’t smell even slightly similar but after watching I see your point more.
Idk what he means by Naxos being hard to wear though. I think for a tobacco scent it’s got some really fresh citrus, florals and honey that make it almost an all year round scent.
@@ArcadianWaheelayeah it’s my signature I think it can be worn anytime other than really hot summer days. I’m certainly not going to black tie events with it 😂
All of these examples definitely make sense to me, I fairly recently got Eau Sauvage Parfum, which I love, then smelt a sample of Tom Ford Beau De Jour, as much as I liked it, I thought it would be pointless to get whilst I have Eau Sauvage
Good job ! However i disagree about Sauvage elixir and Oud for greatness. I would say that Oud for greatness is similar to PDM's Kalan and more similar to PDMs Haltane (oud for greatness is an older release) . I also own Dior Homme intense as well as Givenchy's Gentleman EDP and Valentino's Homme intense for which i agree that they are very similar. I also find very similar PDMs Herrod , Spice Bomb and Joop's Homme wild (on the same genre)
Haha great series but gotta disagree strongly with Naxos and Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. Im certainly not a millionaire and I own them both, I don’t think they’re black tie exclusive at all I’d almost go as far as to say Naxos is my signature scent it’s so versatile
@@highwayman1291I've come to realize simple is often best. My collection is down to 6 fragrances now (the others being Percival, Aventus Cologne and BDC EDP).
I intentionally oversprayed Naxos last weekend to my cousins 50th bday party. I had on a Black turtleneck under an all black suit at a "swanky" restaurant on a 55 degree nyc night. The compliments were rolling in.
@@ThirtyThreeHipHop Naxos is a forever fragrance for me. Will ALWAYS have a bottle. I have 43 fragrances, and almost all are awesome, but I only have a select few I consider forever fragrances. Naxos tops the list.
@@ThirtyThreeHipHop Naxos and Code Absolu get me asked what I'm wearing more than they get people to tell me I smell good. It's like people think it smells so good that they have to know it by name. "Wow, what are you wearing?" *I tell them* "It smells really good.
Since I’ve started my niche journey I’ve noticed that I love Tobacco, incense and smoke in my frags and I want to get as many of those as possible. I already own Nishane “Fan your Flames” and TF “Tobacco Vanille” and 4ml samples of PDM “Herod” but Naxos & Opus XIV: Royal Tobacco from Amouage are on my list to buy next (one day😅) amoung other tobbaco based frags. Maybe I will wait on Naxos and Royal Tobacco for now and go in some other direction.
IMHO Naxos and Royal Tobacco are not tobacco forward like Tobacco Vanille is. I've smelled Fan Your Flames once but it was after smelling at least a dozen fragrances before that. The idea of tobacco and coconut together sounds so interesting.
I LOVE the smell of Herod, but it's very week off my skin. That's saying something because quite a few notoriously bad performing fragrances do just fine on me.
Id say 1 million royal and JPG le male elixer are nearly the same... I've heard from the Curlyfragrance channel that Gucci's Guilty elixer is like the designer take of PDM Pegasus.. What about Prada luna ross Ocean Edp and invictus Victory? It's very similar to me. I also noticed that bad boy cobalt (which I love, btw) is similar to invictus platinum... "Big boss" from the Christopher Lee frangrance channel says Bad boy cobalt smells like if you mix either 1million parfum or prive and valentino born in roma together. I'll say I can see the similarities with born in roma, but i like the cobalt better.
Waaaa, where was this video a year ago???? I, no joke, have each and every one of these frags!!! Smell great and broke as hell! Good, informative video, Omar!!

WAKE UP BABE OMAR DROPPED‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
Haha great series but gotta disagree strongly with Naxos and Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. Im certainly not a millionaire and I own them both, I don’t think they’re black tie exclusive at all I’d almost go as far as to say Naxos is my signature scent it’s so versatile
Thanks, top G!
Curly fragrance prefers gentleman reserve privee over Dior homme intense
Xerjoff Naxos must be put on head on with Mugler Pure Havane
Mickael Kors jet black and burberry London have the same note, but london is slightly more "Christmase"
But hey it's like 1/3 the price
i have dior homme parfum and valentino uomo intense, dior homme parfum sometimes too heavy, so the optional is valentino uomo intense
Great vid
Jpg elixir and pegasus are not much similar to me.
What an amazing video!
Can you please answer the same question about lomme ideal edp and extreme? Should anyone own both?
Thank you, and personally I think you can between these two flankers as there is enough difference in their concepts and character between them
@@SchoolOfScent saving up then... Thanks brother.
Stronger with you is just like Dolce The one..
Great video
I must be the most basic bro because Allure Homme Sport, Luna Rossa Carbon and Profondo are the most enjoyable fragrances to me.
All awesome fragrances!
@@highwayman1291I've come to realize simple is often best. My collection is down to 6 fragrances now (the others being Percival, Aventus Cologne and BDC EDP).
Hot take:
Mancera Auod Lemon Mint vs
Rasasi Daarej
Dammit. I have 2 bottles of Naxos and 2 of tobacco vanille. I alternate them every other day 😭
They are both awesome. They aren't redundant. They don't smell the same. You're doing great having those two.
And which do you regard as more gorgeous?
I wear Naxos to the office. I think it’s a great fragrance as long as you don’t overspray.
My favorite fragrance ever. Yes, it's a great office fragrance too.
I intentionally oversprayed Naxos last weekend to my cousins 50th bday party. I had on a Black turtleneck under an all black suit at a "swanky" restaurant on a 55 degree nyc night. The compliments were rolling in.
@@ThirtyThreeHipHop That is awesome!
Are Alexandria 2 and Ombre Nomade similar?
Similar fragrance family but different feel imo
Amouage has a couple smokey fragrances
Thanks Ren, I need to be faster next time! 😳
