This was magic to see!!! Thank you so much. Always such a privilege to have a little look behind the scenes. Lots of different steps to get to the beautiful skeins you share xx

Very helpful! First time yarn dyer here: wanted to make my Xmas gifts a little more personalized this year. Most tutorials didn't really show how to get paler colors. Thank you!
This is awesome!!! What a a fun idea to show us behind the scenes! Someday I want too spend time with you as you do this. (And, HOW THE HECK do you do it with 5 kids!!?!?!?)
Great video! Thank you. There is only one thing I don't get: What did you do after you added the speckles? Did you put it in the water or oven or something?
I'm new at this. what is the liquid you are soaking the yarn in? what powder dye are you using? what is the solution you are pouring it in? what are the temperatures? how long do you soak it? what kind of yarn is it? ........
Hi! This is not meant as a tutorial, but as a process video. I'd recommend searching for "how to dye yarn" or something along those lines, and hopefully this will answer your questions.
@@PineappleYarnInteresting how the steaming doesn't make the color run! Do you do anything special to keep the speckles from running? Also, what brand of dyes are you using?
It depends on the technique - you need acid and heat to set acid dyes. So you can soak the yarn in acid before dyeing, or add acid to your dye solution and/or dyepots, or to your powdered dye for speckles (or a combination of the three!) I mostly use Dharma brand dyes.
Love watching the process. It’s beautiful. Thank you ❤❤❤
Very cool!!! Thanks for sharing this! I want to try my hand in dying yarn!
Go for it!! 🤩

Hi!! This is amazing, what pretty colors :) How do you heat set the speckles? Do you steam the yarn after speckling? Thanks!
Steam them!
Great video! Thank you. There is only one thing I don't get: What did you do after you added the speckles? Did you put it in the water or oven or something?
Lots of ways to do it - you can steam in a low level of water, either in an oven or stovetop
Freaking gorgeous.
Aww thanks! Glad you like it :)
Wow
4:15 I'm curious about the red machine that came out here. Can you tell me the name of the product?
It's a SkeinTwister from Alpenglow Yarn!
@@PineappleYarn thank you!❤

What exactly did you do with the yarn after you added the dry dyepowder please? just let it sit?
I steam it so it will set! :)

What eyes did you use? What colors?
I use acid dyes which work great with wool, and the colors are my secret recipe 😉
The dyed yarn is beautiful and the video is so informative.
But, the “music” is really annoying.
Thanks for the feedback!
Love the color
Thanks Jodie!
