Denis Cyplenkov’s comeback? A possible return in May

Denis Cyplenkov is carefully considering his return to competitive arm wrestling. He's feeling healthy after his rest and vacation, his previous hip problems resolved through regular massage and adjusted training. He’s cautiously resuming his old training program, focusing on his weaknesses and aiming to regain his previous strength and lifting weights. Although enjoying casual arm wrestling at the table, he's not currently in competition form. He plans to make a firm decision about his return by the end of February. His initial target was a comeback in late May or early June, allowing for three to four months of dedicated training.
However, Engin informed him of an event in mid-May, potentially in Istanbul, followed by another in the US in June. This prompted Denis to suggest postponing a final decision until after the Georgia event in February, giving him time to discuss potential opponents with Engin. A match against Brian Shaw was suggested, but Denis believes Shaw needs more experience before competing at the top level, suggesting one to two years of dedicated training are necessary for Shaw to become a true contender.
A mid-to-late May return in Istanbul now seems more likely for Denis, reducing his preparation time to under three months. Despite the shorter training period, Denis is eager to return. He prioritizes his health and fulfilling commitments, preferring to compete every six months with ample recovery time. Therefore, another match at the end of summer is unlikely, with December being a more realistic target after the May event.
He’s enthusiastic about competing again at a high level, but wants to avoid the top 5 ranked arm wrestlers initially. He closely follows the sport, happy to see the progress of other athletes, and acknowledges the hard work and desire required to succeed. His own drive to regain his champion status remains strong, and he plans to pursue it as long as his health allows.
