Life Late | Nature Trip to Almaty, Kazakhstan (7-day Itinerary, Tips & Budget)

I'm not exactly an active person; I usually find comfort in staying indoors. But turning 32 has brought some unexpected surprises, and this trip is one of the biggest. Honestly, it’s been exhausting-more than I could have imagined-but every ounce of energy I spent on this trip was worth it. This journey opened my eyes to a kind of natural beauty I’d never seen before. There were moments when I seriously considered migrating here because Kazakhstan offers something rare: the perfect balance of vibrant city life and stunning nature, all in one place. Who wouldn’t want that?
It took me a while to edit this vlog because I’ve been taking the time to rest and avoid pushing myself too hard. After our trip, I learned from the people of Kazakhstan the importance of enjoying life and not letting myself get too overwhelmed.
I have added some recommendations and tips for anyone planning to visit Almaty. Enjoy!
Itinerary
Day 1: City & Tour Company (allocate time to finalize tour activities)
Day 2: DIY Hike to Big Almaty Lake
Day 3: Visit Black Canyon, Kaindy Lake, and Kolsai Lake
Day 4: Explore Charyn Canyon (“Valley of Castles”), Kolsai Lake, Black Canyon, Moon Canyon, and the Charyn River
Day 5: Overnight stay on the Assy Plateau
Day 6: Afternoon City Tour
Day 7: Visit Shymbulak
