@@BobanOrlovic Nietzsche wouldn’t have held it against you because he was aware that if people weren’t so entrenched in their illusions then they may not have survived. How can you be mad at someone when you’re fully aware that their “stupidity” might have actually been necessary for survival?
I would like to listen to this lecture series. I know Hubert Dreyfus has always focused on existentialism but I didn't know he was teaching a course (or is this a course on Nietzsche). Anyways, can you tell me where you got that bit from. Can you post the link. Or tell me if it's from ItunesU. Thanks.
FYI: "Greek" is the Latin term for "Hellene." The "Greeks" have always referred to themselves as "Hellenes" or "Romans." Hellene means "one who hails from Hellas, or Greece." In other words, the Hellenes call their land Hellas; the Latin-speakers from the West call Hellenes "Greeks," and their land "Grecia."
To live with Jesus here on Earth would be heaven, if one was a believer. St. Francis might be a good replacement, although he eventually started referring to his own body as "Brother Ass."
It's comparing the two. Seeing the similarities and differences between Dostoevsky. Eventually asking which view f life the students think is appealing to them. Dostoevsky, Nietzsche and Kierkegaard
This is an excellent lecture on Nietzschean/Existentialist philosophy.
I love Nietzsche! You could've disagree with the man 99% on everything he wrote and he wouldn't hold it against you.
Idk what Nietzsche you're talking about

the volume is all up and down
Nietzsche was not Swiss, he was a native German, and went to Switzerland to teach Philology in Basel.

shameful that lecturer has no idea about that
They were not even close to writing at the same time, KIERGEGARD died in 1853,NEITZSZCHE was born in 1844 so he was 8 or 9 when SK died
Part II ????
Couldn't handle the banging of the mic.
They were called Hellens because Greece in Greek is Hellas, so I guess that they correspond.
+Kareem Harb Thanks,good to know.

Seems to be more about Dostoyevsky than Nietzsche

I got 14 mins in but there is to much rambling and forgetfulness, its like a bad version of Columbo doing a talk.
Nietsche, Dostoevsky and Melville
gay science 1882, brother karamazov 1880, Moby Dick 1850
He challenged Christianity and traditional morality, his lifestyle differed. Did Wagner influence him in anyway how knows?

Soporific, unprepared and unfamiliar with his subject. Tedious! The worst kind of "teacher".
