      +KemushiChan ロレッタ The Okinawans have a saying "いちゃりば ちょーでー" (沖縄方言). Translation(英語):once we meet, we are brothers. This video shows that saying, the Okinawans are the sweetest people in Japan.

    I don't know why but, I cried. The otôsan's singing, your dancing, your being entertained in the mimpaku, everything... Such a great video. Thank you very much!

    I remember singing the song the elder man was singing in class when I lived in Okinawa! I was in elementary school and at the time my mother taught ESL. Nostalgia *sigh*

    I went to a Field Trip, Homestay event in Kyotango last summer (I was, and am still, living in Kyoto)! I had only been in Japan for 3ish months and had only learned a little japanese when I went. I was scared to tears, almost, before I met my family. The family lived really near the ocean and in the mountains in Kyotango, and they were SOOOOOO friendly!
    I wanna say with this that I totally recommend homestay if you ever get the oppprtunity! It is SOOO rewarding and fun!

    やっぱり素敵な動画でした…!
    民泊なんて私はしたことがないですが、ミカエラさんの動画ではある程度のマナーもさりげなく伝えてあって、沖縄のみなさんのホスピタリティーも伝わって素敵でした!
    そして民族楽器全般的に演奏が上手で、衣装も似合っていてそれも素敵でした!
    私も国内外いろんなところに行けるように頑張りたいです!

    I loved this! Living in America, the only things I hear about Okinawa are from military guys who all say it was boring or they didn't like it there. They didn't take any time (or have the time?) to appreciate the culture while stationed, so it's great to see the culture from an area that I used to only think of as an American military base.

    • @Hans-gb4mv
      @Hans-gb4mv 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Tobi McCann (Dreaming in Japanese) it's not that strange I think. Those guys go to a country they didn't ask for where they come across a culture they know little about and where people speak a language they don't understand. And if you don't care about the different culture and you spend most of your free time on the base and/or with the other guys it's not easy to learn a lot about the local culture or dive into the local life.

    I am from an okinawan family, it remembered me the old times when my grandfather used to sing the same song at 0:53. And taiko... Omg, love it so much.

    着物がとっても似合っていましたね。沖縄は、今でも「日本とは違う国」と言っていいくらい、独自の文化がありますね。民泊だと、短い時間でも、料理とか、その文化がたっぷり体験できていいですね。「沖縄の人は暇さえあれば歌ったり踊ったりしている」と聞いたんですが・・・やっぱり本当なんですね。一度行ってみたいです。
