      I'm sure if you keep uploading videos more people will find them, you have videos no one else has I have never seen a channel focus just so closely on one type of item and it's really nice since you get to learn about all the smaller details.

    Nice raised bar chinstraps on that Fixed loop Schlueter. More difficult to find in that configuration- good find.

    The Schlueter rear seam is an example of the magnesium steel rim when production moved away from stainless steel due to paint adhesion problems. The straps are most definitely correct and are the OD7 stitched type. These were introduced late 1944.

      Crikey you know info on M1 helmets too that’s awesome, also did you know the Schlueter Heat stamp went up to 600 so you are right on late 1944, I sure know my Schlueter Heat stamp 99A is March 1943, hey cheers mate for watching and comment my video

      M1 U.S Helmets WW2 Korean Nam Era the late 44 reference is to the straps, Not to sure about the lot number range. The rarest Schlueter that I've owned was a fixed bale OD7 stitched strap. Made very briefly when the straps changed from OD3 -OD7.

      How about this for a combo, Schlueter fixed bale, mag front Seam with OD7 straps......I'm sure that helmet is out there somewhere!

      Hi Ant, the thing here in Thailand all these U.S M1 helmets were reissued into the Vietnam war era so many things changed on the helmets like the cork texture was rubbed of and repainted plus bales and straps were updated too, I have a 79C McCord with swivel bales fitted as a update plus nam straps, plus liners WW2 updated to Nam era, but the best thing about all this I can say my helmets have seen WW2 Korean Nam era history, all my helmets left USA, I got no USA home guard , U.S Coast helmets, got all these from Thailand , Laos , Vietnam , Japan , Cambodia. Hey cheers thank you for Awesome comments

    First off, love the video. It is amazing the helmets that you have acquired! Second, it is very hard watching you talk about the heat and the sun when I am stuck here in Michigan in the U.S. where every day is literally 31 degrees with no sun...needless to say I am quite jealous. Finally, I saw your note and hope that you keep posting. I have been in the same boat where I wouldn't post videos for months because I felt...why do it. I had a good heart to heart with my wife and a good heart to heart with some collector friends and a good heart to heart with a fairly popular youtuber and they set me straight. Each said that my videos were pretty specialized so not to expect huge traffic...and that I needed to remember why I started in the first place which was to simply share my collection. I respect whatever your decision is...but man I do love watching your videos!

    I have a friend who is in the Marine Corps, and she is being stationed in Okinawa for one year (leaving next week). She said she will be going to Thailand and Japan and she will look for some helmets for me. Are you willing to share publicly or privately where the best places are to hunt for American M1 and Japanese Type 90 combat helmets? With the contacts you have and the knowledge you have accumulated, I sure would appreciate your help and advice.

    I wish I could find someone who knew about Vietnam era Parish helmets, I have one with heat stamp most likely 2401 (3rd number can’t be seen clearly, either 0, 8, or 9). Just want to know what year it was made, I’m thinking 1968.

    • @jerseyfaranginthailand8134
      @jerseyfaranginthailand8134  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello Mr E , ok that heat stamp 2401 could be a Parrish Helmet they only had numbers with no letter fonts, but please look carefully if that heat stamp have something like this. 1. 2401 If it looks like that with a 1 or some say it’s a i then a gap then number it’s a Ingersoll U.S helmet, Ingersoll made Vietnam war era colour pea green helmets, if Ingersoll it maybe 1966 to 68

    • @MidnightMoon2267
      @MidnightMoon2267 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      M1 U.S Helmets WW2 Korean Nam Era
      There is no I or 1 before the heat stamp, it’s just 2401, 2481, or 2491. Half of the 3rd number is not visible. Thanks for the reply. Parish made helmets from 1968 to about or before 1970 with the heat stamps being small and upside compared to the others.
