    12:33 Periapsis, or perihelion is the word for the bottom of the ellipsis in orbit when the body's velocity increases. Thank you Kerbal Space Program :)

      Owl The Polyglot I am not sure what lexicon you are using but I appreciate your concern for accuracy in language. In Liddell Scott peri - apsis is a combination of two greek words, peri suggesting being around or near but apsis meaning loop or net. I did not see shield. There is trouble describing anything as having a "bottom" in space and nearest would be better. If you search NASA's website, you will see these are the terms used in the modern scientific community to describe these positions.
