    That's a great looking table. We built ours using a table made in the 1950's as a pattern. Instead of filling in the hole in the center where the router pivot was we bolted a lazy susan there, that was the main feature my wife wanted. Of course when the children were little they would get on it and spin around, fun memories.

    Thanks "Glam" very good info on the misting. Have you ever used a sanding sealer after staining to fill the open grain of oak? Thanks for the video

      I did not make this base. I have a welder do all my metal bases

    Really enjoyed the vid!
    Newly getting into woodworking and I know that Festool domino joiner is quite an investment (at least up in Canada here they are!).
    Have you used the Festool all along or what did you use for your table top joining when you were first starting off?

      When I started I used the pocket hole jig (😱) I quickly realized I needed the domino. PH screws cause warping and cracking in tops. So yeah I got the domino pretty early in the game!

      Dowels can also be used, that's what we used on my table in 1980.

    Do you wait for the sprayed water to dry before your final sand or do you sand it while its still damp?

      Definitely wait until it is dry before sanding!

    What type of wood do you use for the top? Seems like all wood I use warps before im finished with it.

      Here I used kiln dried red oak. Always make sure the moisture is under 10% before working with the wood

      Sorry just seeing this! I used rough cut kiln dried red oak and after milling is about 1 1/8”-1 1/4”

    Who doesn't love a women that smells like red oak? Seriously though, nicely done! Where did you get the steel base? Was it custom built for you? Would love to see a video on your finishing schedule. Wurth stocks a water borne lacquer, Agualenta that you may be interested in giving a try.

      Thanks! I did have it custom made by a local welder. And I like Minwax’s polycrylic so I’m just gonna stick with that for now. If it changes I’ll look into that product from Wurth for sure!!!

    Hmmm... I finally followed Ann's advice and took woodglut instructions. It's great for beginners and has some advanced stuff too.
