Good morning Jane……I’ve just listened to your video…..not just watched but REALLY listened…….I have just turned 80…..and I find that everything that you have spoken of resonates with me…….I have quite a large family ending in 8 great grandchildren up to now. All of whom I love greatly BUT not giving myself much room for personal thought…..not that any of them are demanding attention from me…..it’s my way of behaving cos I love them passionately…..I have decided that I’m signing up…..the rest of my life is not about just them but I’m intent on being kind to myself in a new way…a wilder way… thank you …watch this space
I was wonderfully healthy until age 54, ten years later, I have back spasms and pain every day. I work full-time, have a spouse, and 7 grands. My intention this year is to focus on carving out 3 days per week to swim. Indoor swimming makes me calm and happy. I love this discussion. I can't get over how beautiful your skin is. You glow. Merry Christmas from across the pond.
Thank you for sharing your Intentions re-frame on the New Years tradition of goal setting. I have neglected myself physically for the last several years, turning into a Senior recluse of sorts. Well, not seeing the doctor or the dentist has caught up with me. Drinking too much wine to mask loneliness has caught up with me. I pretended caring for myself by staying so busy. This backfiring of Denial is a good thing as I look at my history of self-neglect and shame. So…. My intention for 2025 is self care of all the aspects of myself. This last year for you has yielded amazing results. Bravo! Thank you for being so inspiring and reflective.
I hope that you have a really wonderful 2025 - take it slow, make it interesting, don't ever beat yourself up! Life happens, celebrate the bits that go well and use curiosity to find more of them. J x
It has taken me in to my early sixties to give myself a break! It is not the end of the world if I leave the hoovering and take myself out for a coffee instead....Thank you for your videos this Year Jane and have a lovely Christmas,,,🎉
Oh such wonderful words; nurture, joyous, brilliant, intentions, gentleness, lovely, rejoicing, simplification… Oh, and why walk when you can fly? All so encouraging! And I also laughed at the “being yelled at while sweating” . Thank you for this beautiful reminder to take care of myself. Blessed to have given this a listen. Merry Christmas to you!
Thank you Jane. Everything you said resonated. It is clear to see how your approach to looking after yourself this year has made such a positive difference to your wellbeing. I find that inspiring and encouraging. And I will be following your example. You are quite right about the guilt living with ill health can influence a lack of self value. I am off to rustle around my cupboards for those unused handcreams and perfume. Wishing you a happy festive season with your family and friends. And healing to your dog. Our dog has had quite the year for health issues. I feel like Ive seen the vet more than most people. Thank you for all the inspiration and wise and honnest insights. I look forward to 2025 with you. Best wishes.
What a lovely Festive message Jane, thank you. We so often are not nice enough to ourselves. Here’s to success for your 2025 intentions, a speedy recovery for your spaniel, and best wishes for a wonderful Christmas. 😊
I will definitely be setting myself intentions, what a lovely idea. Resolutions are so set in stone and always feel negative rather than positive. Last year didn’t quite happen as intended because other people’s health issues, moving plans and retirements. Apparently, I retired too, although it doesn’t feel like it. I have therefore not caught up with myself even though I did achieve a lot of good, positive things. Tomorrow, on the Winter Solstice, I will look at my achievements over the last year and consider MY intentions for the coming year. I have already made some changes, like blowing drying my hair when I have washed it, sounds silly I know. Your vlog has already made me feel more positive. Seasonal Blessing
Thank you Jane xx I am all tearful but in a good way. I am just starting on the life I didn’t expect but the one I have got …so lovely to hear that I am not alone. No longer able to get in the bath I bought myself some glorious shower potions, started creating…it has given me the greatest joy to recycle Christmas decs from the mind shop and return them for resale. Thank you for sharing and looking forward to 2025 ❤
What a great I idea I'm so grateful I 'found' you this morning! I'm going to do my intentions & approach them through the Zodiac!😊❤🎉😊I love the choosing to have the dealing with a challenge be joyful!🎉❤ I'll emply that immediately as well. Thank you❤Blessing to you & to all!!😊🎉
Thank you so much for this! Intentions are so much gentler and forgiving. I always find your videos and updates so soothing. Congratulations on your changes.
Thank you. It’s amazing what changes can come over a year I think - in any field really - and taking it as a long term, slow and nurturing thing made it so much easier. X
Thankyou for this thought provoking video. I love your calmness and can see how much you have changed this last year. Joyous living is amazing. Blessings x
Thank you Jane, hope the recovery is quick, such a dear darling. Loved her little face at the end. I’m thrilled your year has been so transformative and so looking forward to joining next. Laughed my head off at ‘being shouted at while sweating’. A fabulous evocation. Thanks also for so many delightful videos. You’re an absolute joy. All the Merryzzzzzz ❤
Hi Jane, I absolutely LOVED this video and am so excited to set intentions for next year. I really like the idea of using the zodiac signs to set a theme each new moon. Would be interested to know more about each of your intentions last year, and to follow along this year. You are wonderful! Ellie
You have such a unique take on everything, I always find your podcasts thought-provoking. I like the intentions rather than resolutions. Thanks for sharing. Hope you have a peaceful festive season. xx
Self-care, let alone self-love, is a hard one for most of us! Thanks for the inspiring, encouraging message. Warm best wishes for a lovely Christmas with your 2- and 4-footed family in your gorgeous Scottish countryside.
Thank you Anita - more and more I think that appreciating ourselves, loving ourselves and taking care of ourselves really has to be the centre from which we can move out to appreciate, love and care for others. Our society and assumptions often make this difficult though. J x
Thank you. They are vintage decorations that fold away - I got them a while ago on Etsy and there seemed to be a lot of them back then so they were very inexpensive. I need to make sure they don’t get wet though as the paper disintegrates with the slightest damp. J x
Fully understand the chaos attraction and eyes bigger than the physical strength/head space. Looking after your body often takes a back seat to the various things that seem always needed to done even though I pulled back on a lot. My main tension is being a carer to three, my mother and two of my sons. My health other than three weekly visit to my chiropractor, often gets shuffled to back of queue.
Great food for thought Jane. Maybe just the nudge I need to do something similar. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, and get well soon to Dixie 🤗
This is the first time I‘ve seen one of your videos and it really hit home. I also have a chronic illness and it’s true, I have a rotten relationship with my body. It results in not taking care of my body because I deem it unreliable and untrustworthy. My chronic illness cause a lot of psychological problems like depression. I too am bad at adhering to New Years resolutions. I‘d really like to try your approach and I‘d start with basic health improvement (exercise, sleep, hygiene, nutrition). Boy do I have a lot to think about. Thank you Jane.
Brilliant message that we all need to heed. Thank you for the reminder Jane. Have a lovely Christmas and best wishes for your simplified year to come. I think I’ll join you 😊xx
Thank you Jane for your kind words to us all and explaining how you are changing your life around. I am one of those people, like you, who lead a very active and chaotic life. I am going to try and make more time for myself next year, instead of trying to do things for everyone and putting myself last. So enjoyed your classes and looking forward to the new things you are organising for next year. Happy Christmas to you and your family.
Good morning Jane. I found your channel and enjoyed your video this morning. Nurturing myself is definitely something I need to do more of for my well-being. You spoke of how you used the zodiac signs and mentioned something called Bloom. I’m interested to know more about this, and could you share it with me? I look forward to watching your previous videos and following along with you. Have a lovely day😊
