I still dream of van life, and Foresty’s channel is the one I stick to following like glue. Realism at its finest, with way more adventure than I could enjoy!
I love the mix of van stuff with hiking/mountaineering. I feel like everyone who falls into van life just for the sake of van life or "wanderlust" end up having a bad time because it's just living out of a car for no reason. I vote nature here. Occasional van building is fine, but I’m here for the view. I also enjoy the cooking. The freshly caught lamb sausage cracked me up.
Hey man you are right about the other van dwellers running out of things to say. The difference between them and you is each video you set a goal, stick to it, and achieve it. Instead of bablling about nothing. You are doing a good job promoting the outdoors and beauty of the landscape with those sweet drone shots.
Those with no spirit of adventure will never understand about the need to see over the next summit. Bad back from my time in Afghanistan keeps me from the high places in my area of the BC Rockies. I get to come along with you and really appreciate what you’re doing. I don’t miss bashing through the Great Wall of devils club though. Safe travels.
Don't enjoy the hiking???? WTH? Honestly I stopped watching LtVL because I got bored because once he drives to his destination he does the same cut wood, make a fire, then cook the same type of meal. Your hikes are stuff is always different and breathtaking! Change NOTHING with your format. Please!
I second this. The cinematography and scenery are worthy of quadruple the subscribers you have. BBC Earth and NatGeo level stuff. The van and simple living are nice bonuses, and these subscribers may be the most vocal, but but the hiking and nature cinematography are what’s drawing me and others to your channel.
I totally agree. I started watching LtVL and initially found his very good, but like you, stopped subscribing as he became too repetitive, and even his new 4x4 conversion I found ‘staged’ and uninteresting. Now FF I can honestly say I’ve enjoyed every video and can’t wait for new videos, adventures, interesting take on cooking, and of course his personality and humour. 😃
@@tonyw60334 Chad's editing, shot making and drone video of his drives is impressive but once he gets to his destination he does the same thing making camp and cooking. totally agree. The early bike tours have great music. Highly recommend
I vote nature here. Occasional van building is fine, but I’m here for the view. I also enjoy the cooking. The freshly caught lamb sausage cracked me up.
I actually like that you added some footage of you doing normal things like your laundry. That is as interesting to me as anything else.
He's busy! But I'll give you a spare heart ❤️
😉😁
11:34 i legit almost cried from how beautiful this is.
Hey man you are right about the other van dwellers running out of things to say. The difference between them and you is each video you set a goal, stick to it, and achieve it. Instead of bablling about nothing. You are doing a good job promoting the outdoors and beauty of the landscape with those sweet drone shots.
I subscribe to 100’s of channels. Your channel is my only “instant click” when I see a new video. Thank you FF and keep it up!
Foresty, keep travelling and climbing, that is why we watch you
I just watch the movies for the nature, hikes, and your personality. Please keep it up, it's great!
I love your sense of humor. Bugger the critics. 400,000 subscribers can't be wrong.
I sub mostly for the hiking/peak bagging. The van building and cooking are bonuses.
@@alcento8765 exactly. FF is going places only a handful of people go and his drone shots, pictures etc is taking all us couch potatoes with him!
Yeah, that channel got boring as heck.
Little variety. this is where FF takes over and takes his viewers to places only. Few people can & will go. Simon is a true modern day adventurer and we get to join him!
I love your hiking content. Helps me appreciate the beauty we live in from an angle I can never see it personally. Thank you!
There is nothing this man does that I don’t love...love the hikes, the drone shots, the music and Foresty just seems like a genuinely nice guy
Damn man, I have been watching some of the older videos from a year or more ago that you have on. Minivan times, crock pot cooking times. Seeing this shows just how far the progression you have made. Really great job with upgrades!! Keep on going
I appreciate the hiking! haha I also appreciate the bushwacking being from Vancouver Island and shwacking through the forest here
Keep the hikes part of it! It all is part of why people want to live and build for a van life. Whether they surf, fish, hike or just explore life... its all good....
The fishing bit is my favourite 🤣🤣
We LOVE the hiking, traveling, cooking, updating! Never change!
Should get yourself a small Jackery Battery Charger if you don't have one. Comes in handy in a pinch and def helps with gaming recharging lol. Love the hikey stuff too brutha, makes it seem like a journey that you take us on, so ignore the haters.
Yes, he could probably get one for free as a sponsorship deal.
Needs solar.
I love your videos! They scare me cause I couldn’t imagine myself hiking a mountain AND doing it alone! I do indeed live vicariously thru you. Thanks for letting me come along. Stay safe!
For what it's worth, I love your honesty, your humour, your cooking, your traveling, your hiking, your alpine/peak drone footage, your chat/stories/updates in the van, your town segments, the van building, the lack of bikini girls baiting views on the thumbnail, the lack of BS talk about adding orange curtain rail holders to balance the overall look of the blah blah blah. The rest is a bit meh, though.
With all do respect to your viewers that do not enjoy the hiking part of your videos, they can watch other videos... this is who you are, this is your channel. Personally i have bad hips and could NEVER do what you do, I love your hiking videos you do such an exceptional job at videoing that i can't help but feel like i am with you. Keep up the great work! Keep on doing you... thank you
dude! I came here for the van build. Keep coming back for the hiking and cooking.
Hey friend, well I've been with you since the early days, whatever content you put out I watch it with loyalty. Keep doing what your doing. Peace and love Davie UK.
There's a lot of love here for exactly what you're doing. As long as you want to do it, most of us will happily keep watching. :-)
Holy Cow Forresty. I was expecting to see a bear in that tall growth. Where's there's berries, there's bears. Please be careful dear Foresty. This Grandma loves watching you hike and climb and cook. Thank you for taking me places I'll never be able to go myself.❤
I love Canada and its nature and I certainly hope you won’t change the content of your videos FF. The majority of the other vanlife channels are slowly but surely turning into commercial channels. I understand why they do it but i sincerely hope you keep your channel the way it is. Visiting my friends in Alberta next year, can’t wait to be out in the Rockies again. Take care and be (Bear) safe 👍🏻
I love your formula; drive a little, cook a little, hike a little and drone a little, while keeping up a steady commentary throughout. When you do some vanlife or visiting others, it's special and not forced like some other channels.
I love your hikes and that bush whacking was crazy. I really love your drone shots and the music you pick. You are a great cinematographer and editor too.
nothing beats freshly caught lamb XD
You are a rare breed man. I don't think there's to many people on our planet that are as dedicated as you are to hit the top of those mountains.
We watch BECAUSE of the hikes, and the van stuff, and the cooking... and all of it!
We want more hiking! Don’t listen to everyone else! We love the hiking, your drone shots, bush whacking, all of it!!!
Love, love, love your channel!
Please keep going as you are!
yes more hikes
"One less horror in the world" and "Lamb sausage. Just what I wanted". Legit LOL. Too funny. Foresty, just do you. I watch because of your sense of humor and adventures and awesome drone footage. But if these interests of yours change, oh well. Stay true to yourself. Thanks for attending my Ted Talk.
Your catch of the day did not fool me this time! 🤣🤣🤣 That bushwacking was no joke. Loved the shot where you were in the middle of the lake.. an introvert's dream life you live Simon... I envy you.
Subscribed long ago because of the bike adventures (I've also done one myself - Kitchener, ON to NYC). The van is neat, the cooking is inspiring, but I watch for the adventures. Keep em coming!
💯
and the step 2's 🍻
Your hikes are INSANE! I can't understand how someone could complain about you putting out unique, quality content. Love the channel!
Yes never change your style! You are the only person I have seen on yt, that gets out & hike the selkirks; in real life & not just doing it for photo shoots & yt hits. My prior life was living in the back road selkirks; living in a cabin & heating with wood. Bulls, coyotes, wolves & bears in my yard was an everyday thing. Watching you; brings back those wonderful memories.
