Foresty, you pointed out in the logbook at the cabin that a lady named Kim Gardner had been to the cabin numerous times and that she is well known. I had never heard of her. I found an online article about her in Adventure Sports Journal. Her story of overcoming serious difficulties in her life by running up and down mountains was very inspirational. Thank you for noticing her log entries and mentioning her in the video. You and Kim have a lot in common because you both are people who serve as good role models and sources of inspiration to all of us. Thank you for that also!
Love how you’ve reclaimed your life from TH-cam. You post videos on your timeline and you take time off to live your life your way. Awesome approach to TH-cam and to life. Your top priority is living your life your way, TH-cam is secondary. Well done!
You are an incredible athlete. Only someone in peak physical condition can do the hikes that you do. Hope you can continue for many more years. Be safe.
I’ve hiked and climbed in that area, the dude is a stud. His hikes are tough enough without setting up cameras then scrambling up and down to catch the action. That’s the part that always blows me away. That’s like twice the work.
You are one weird dude Foresty! Most TH-camrs would have made 5 videos out of that adventure. That's why I love your channel and tell everyone I know about you too.
When did Rocko get her license?!?!?! 2 summits in one vid, plus a hidden cabin make for a fantastic Foresty Friday! The scenery is gorgeous, thank you for sharing it with us.
I live in Vegas, and I really enjoy exploring the old ghost towns and mining cabins around this area...and yeah, you hit the nail on the head. The most amazing thing about all of them is...how in the hell did they get the materials up there to build that stuff?? We have helicopters, and engines, and modern technology. They had mules and donkeys. When it's 120F outside, in the desert, in a place with no natural springs... there's a cabin, or a hole in the ground where they were mining. It's just incredible how they did all that stuff 100+ years ago. Great video, Foresty!
Thanks so much for another great adventure! Really admire your persistence in getting to your objective and your skill in showing us the spectacular scenery with a bonus of some cool history thrown in on this one! Stay safe and enjoy your family time. We’ll be here when you have another adventure to share.
7400 feet gained! You are an animal! With an animal. Congrats on bagging that summit. Not only boocoo elevation gain, but you also had to deal with the thin air at 10,000+. I have trouble going above 9000 unless I've spent a few days at 7 or 8 k to acclimatize. Totally cool you made it to the cabin as well, and an 11 thousander to boot! What a great area to spend a week or three in the middle of winter
Another great video from Rocko taking the wheel ,Cozy sleeping bag for 1 and 1/4, amazing Timelapse of the night sky to that cool a$$ cabin. Another summit to boot. Totally appreciate your commitment leave no trace.
One of my favorite videos so far! Gonna show this one to my 93 y.o. Dad.. we used to back pack in that area in the 70s, but not as adventurous as this..
Hey, I've been up in that cabin. We did a dayhike from the Saline Valley side to Keynot summit, and stopped by the cabin for few minutes. We did several dayhikes from the east side up Inyo Mountains, 10k+ elevation gains, most all of it off-trail.
So glad Rocko passed her driver's test. Proud of her! Also, you should look into Swayse mountain in Utah, it's very fun to hike and the views are extremely rewarding. My first hike ever, not easy, but I bet you could crush it.
Maybe one of the most complete episodes. It is so well put together. I am impressed with every aspect of the process. Rocko is also impressive…every scene she is ahead of FF, working her way up the mountain.
It took 9 hours to climb to the cabin- not counting the previous climb/overnight. Wow. 👍 Years ago, as a single female hiker. I went through 15 States - beautiful country and people. A special thanks to Wisconsin for finding and turning in my wallet and travelers cheques and to the police for maling it all to my home ❤. And, thank you to everyone everywhere who offered dinner and even showers /laundry 💐. I'm happy staying in Canada now so thank you, Foresty, for showing me places I'll never see. 😊

One January my buddy and I headed to Death Valley to do a full traverse of the Panamints ridge but there had been a series of warm rains from the gulf of California that melted all the snow we would need to get us up to the top of the ridge. The first snow that was available for melting and cooking would have been a 10000 ft climb up out of Death Valley. So we decided to grab some beverages and camp out in a cool spot in the desert in the valley. I was inspired by Galen Rowell and his book and series of photos of him and someone else, it may have been Yvon Chouinard, who did the trip. One trip my buddy and I did was an overnighter in the Mitchell Peaks. It's this really cool mountain range out in the eastern Mohave still in California. Foresty, I know that you do not like to answer silly questions, so maybe you will not answer this... But I was wondering if you have ever had any strange experiences in the many remote historical cabins and fire lookouts that you have stayed in. Personally, if I stayed in a place like that overnight by myself, I do not think that I would get much sleep because I would be concerned about a possible encounter with some sort of spirit of a former old miner resident who used to live there. That cabin was incredibly cool and historical, and you are very brave to stay there alone like that! Glad you had Rocko there with you for protection!

And an indoors-man too, taking refuge in that cabin solo. And Rocco #6....yay !! I live in that area and I have visited the Saline Valley Hot Springs in May 2023, after the harsh winter. I could barely get there in a 4x4 truck but it was worth it. Awesome place. Those mountains are majestic, harsh and extremely hard to clime. Good job. I always love seeing the military jets too. I work on Army helicopters and have flown around that area quite a bit. Thanks for sharing your adventures.

Well your vids must be very relaxing to me. I actually fell asleep 3 different times trying to watch this one. This says a lot about your awesome content and that I can relax and enjoy. Thank you.
Looked like a green army notebook used as the cabin logbook at 14:16. Noticed that on my second watch-through, as this one was an amazing trek! I can't believe that view of Death Valley!
Once again your effort to put the action shots in your video’s is impressive, that’s a huge amount of work and appreciated! Well done Foresty and again a step above anything out there! Amazing sunset pics and I love that sunrise, nothing like sleeping under the stars!
I loved this video. So nice to see Rocko starting to pull her own weight and help with the driving. I think she also wants to help with the cooking/eating. You come up with excellent meals. The info about Kim is exciting. She's an inspiration. So are you, BTW. I look forward to your videos, no matter the length. And thanks for all the shots of Rocko. I 💗 her to bits.
You are a decent person and you respect nature. I love the way you took good care of the cabin. I’m disabled and can barely walk these days so I’m just in awe of all you achieve❗️Little Rocko is a total legend too 😊 (That’s an Australian expression) Sending love 🔥🪵🤎🦘

The night view was so beautiful, I always enjoy your videos and hiking adventures,
amazing adventure man thank you for taking us along with you
Amazing! Dog driving was a super fun way to start the video.

Thank you both for Sharing....
The places that van will go is incredible, IMO it's worth every penny you have to put into it I don'r see any other vans doing the offraoding I've see this thing do.
Hey man I gave you a hard time last year when you hesitated on a little off roading, you've totally redeemed yourself bro I can see the confidence. Another awesome video👍
