Thanks again. I do like the idea of set squad sizes; it just makes sense for how teams work together. I really liked this quote about the new Vespid models: The sculpts of course are amazing, they're dynamically posed; they're highly detailed; they just look fantastic. Um, pour one out for the Blood Angels players because this is clearly where the wing sculptor spent their time...not on the new Sanguinary Guard. So true. GW should make a sculpt of themselves, where with one hand they are heroically skewering an Ork, and with the other shooting themselves in the foot.
The Shadestrain is the coolest model for me. I really dislike that not one Tau auxiliary unit is getting at least simple Tau style armor. So this is really cool.
I heard the other options for the rail rifle Vespid name was either Farsting or Shadowsting. I guess they had to pick the least useful model to get rid of.
can't wait to try out some new techniques on these bugs, don't care for the humans they're whatever gonna toss em at a random kid in the store or split the box with a factionally-challenged friend, hopefully i can use shifter paints for some shiny green fly like aesthetics
7:10 I believe thats not actually an AFP, but rather a grenade launcher. It just has a similar. Only saying this, because in lore, the AFP would shoot a slug into the air and then detonate into shrapnel, scattering munitions above the enemies' head. While the cinematic showed more of a grenade launcher effect and even the dude says its more akin to a grenade launcher. Hypothetical, tho, could easily be very wrong.
I like the bug aspect, just not 100% on the Tau look for the equipment. Might have been nice to have had some exotic looking weapons, not some hand me downs/ stuff theyve scavenged from a battlefield (pathfinder rail-rifle, ciris flamer and AFP, breacher helmet, half of a stealth suit, what new equipment did they get?)
Why didn't you watch the reveal video before making this? They told us what the oversight mechanic was and they told us that it's not an AFP it's a grenade launcher.
I'm actually insulted by this. We lost every character and forgeworld unit for the sake of the laziest codex I've ever seen, this is the sculpt they came up with? This is going to be the 40-60 dollar box? No Shas'O R'Lai or Tetras or XV9's? This and some overcosted Kroot? Tell me about shrinkflation without telling me about shrinkflation. Why does anyone give these people money anymore? As they told me in the last GW shop I was in "They will not be missed".
Given the stealth concept of the Shadestrain, I would expect the weapon modification to give its neutron blaster the Silent rule.
Makes perfect sense for killteam. Probably no effect in 40K then.
I've been wanting to get back into modeling for years. This seems like a great opportunity. Love the Tau and love the Vespid!
The shadestrain is my favorite model out of the kit, super excited to get my hands on these

I really hope they stay as a 5 man squad!

Thanks as always
Cant wait to pick up the models

What if the drone lets them get the greater good stuff?
Also lol drones good paper weights
My vespids are going to be yellow!
I do miss the Moon Hooch intro, but excellent analysis as always. These kits look great!
They got me on copyright:(

GW also described the vespid grenade launcher creating areas of radiation.

Shas'ui leads a squad, be it fire warriors or Vespid
Couldn't it be possible that the Vespid box would just include two units of 5? Or perhaps the option of running units of 5-10?
Not much of a GW fan but these are nice.
Man it has been so long since I have played but I definitely want to get back in to Kill Team. I just kind of preferer the scale to 40K.
Could Shadestrain be an assassin character?
Its not an air bursting frag projector amigo.
