My first gig in the movies...Orkney Snork Nie, I was Ouboet's stunt double as the van Tonder family hit Margate to party and chaos ensued. Classic old South African movie encapsulates what it used to be like.
The boat had zero wet deck and my handheld radio fell into the fast-gathering water on the cockpit floor. And failed. The first of many handheld radios I have destroyed.
Luckily the brief was simple, al I had to do was come in from the north, in between some waves, and then head out off to sea. I got paid R80!
