To be fair Doug, the edited the images of the musical notes since you recorded this to have an arrow pointing to the TI note. With that edit I think you might have gotten it much easier.
Well that was a bit too late lol . Dang me. I mean they labelled it do , for us to ignore that apart from compiling the scale to ti. Also the rats ears are too big - making them more like mice but I got that one.
Doug, you were SO close! I got them all with no mistakes. I guessed the Ti even though I don't read music, because my puzzle had an arrow pointing to the second note, and I've seen The Sound Of Music 100 times -- "Do a deer, a female deer... Ti a drink with jam and bread." Then objects with teeth jumped out at me. And correctly guessed mild oaths. But I never in a million years would have guessed purple. Didn't recognize the triangle as delta, and even if I had, I still think I would never have gotten to parts of a river. Fun puzzle today.
What was the one on April Fool's Day? I wasn't playing the game this far back. This is the first non textual one I've seen. I did score the perfect solve, after some thought.
I got the purple category in the dumbest way possible. I thought it was supposed to be where you keep your money. In a bank, under a mattress, a mouth (the phrase keep your money where your mouth is) and a triangle, for the Bermuda triangle because I thought an island there is a tax haven for rich people
It is awful when they give 5 clear answers. There were 5 items with teeth. And you had to get purple to rule one out. I got it because my thought maybe it was a play on the old kids joke " what has teeth but no mouth " and I figured mouth was too literal. I was about to click on it, but to a section look over everything and saw the gear. So my streak is alive.
I think you got shafted Doug. As others have commented - Mine had an arrow, similar to the one pointing to the fudge, pointing at the second note, which helped to figure out how that was to be used. So they edited the posted puzzle later. I thought you might start saying "aw nuts" or "aw geez" or "aww rats" at some point... (I would have)
@@davidsmock8235 he plays a weeks worth of connections a week in advance, might be something to do with adjusting the date on his cpu? but the pictures must have been changed before it was properly released.
Ditto!! This was so challenging got two categories yellow and green but just missed the mild oaths which I used when I first saw the puzzle. I missed the purple category entirely!! Doug missed the "Do" he said it a number of times!!
That DO red herring reminds me of the time they had DOH spelled out in a regular puzzle, meant to trick you. The correct expression is D'OH. In that previous puzzle DOH was a suffix for Play Doh (we've all tasted that at one point).
I don't know much about food, so I didn't figure out that it was fudge on the sundae. In my non-American experience sundaes have syrup, and fudge is an entirely different sweet treat. Still, I did get all the guesses and categories right, just not all the names of everything.
You are correct, however in the US, we say it's hot fudge on the sundae, never hot syrup. It's what we call something, even though it's not technically correct. I'm sure there are many other examples of this in the English language.
I solved yellow with no issue and then green after including the mouth in all my wrong guesses. Not enough guesses left to make any progress on the other two. Edit: My puzzle had an arrow pointing the to "b" note on the musical staff which translates to ti on the c major musical scale. Doug was at a disadvantage due to this omission.
Got 'em all without any mistakes but I really don't care for it when they do these types of puzzles. It's supposed to be a word game, not a picture game. It adds another layer of complexity and unnecessary ambiguity, IMO. But maybe that's just me. 🤷♂️
Hmm. Interesting. So, between whatever time you record (I assume on a VPN for another time zone) and Eastern time midnight, when you post it, they altered a couple pictures. They changed the bed to look more like a bed and, very notably, added an arrow to point to the second musical note on the scale. I got green first, and yellow after I noticed the arrow. But I got weirdly stuck thinking "fudge" was "syrup" and couldn't find the 4th mild swear... So I switched looking at the other five and saw the river words.😊 🟩🟨 🟦🟦🟦🟪 🟪🟦🟦🟦 🟪🟦
I like how Doug started the video with the mild oath “for petes sake”
I knew when I saw the puzzle for today that his reaction to it would be great.
I said stronger words
The way I was screaming FUDGE at you!
Lol, me too. He even said fudge at the start! 😂
Just yellow and green for moi. My oaths are not so mild. That said this was somewhat fun.
Doug literally said "Do, Re, Mi, Fa,So..." Then mumbled the latida. while he was looking for things that sounded like Ti. Just amazing.
He might want to slow down on some of these, he's often really close. 😄

Yeah, for me I play later than Doug and got the updated version with the arrow pointing to Ti.
Got all 4 categories with no mistakes. Very fun!
Me too.

Same.
That's nothing. I got 5 categories.

Another picture puzzle since April Fool's Day. I thought the most difficult part was to figure out the "fudge" on the ice cream and delta.

@@Tiqerboy Well, it looked like emojis.
@@王宇平-q4t that would have been a $h!t show. Emojis are so small, I have to squint to figure half of them out.

I was proud to be among the
things with teeth pissed me off so much because i would not go away from mouth. i had no clue about delta.

Another tough one. I got the teeth clue and that was it. I got hung up on the T's, but wasn't able to figure out the musical note was part of it.
I loved this one. Had trouble with the category for the blue but the rest can to me pretty easily.
This one was FUN!!
my grid had an arrow pointing at the note 'ti' but this one didn't
Same here! I wonder why?

The only one I got was T. Bust on the other 3.
Got all 4, but used all my guesses because a mouth also has teeth.
Why is it that the last couple of connections have been weird?
Got the Ts, nothing else!
Got two.
This was not my puzzle for today. Very weird.
You play connections while I have no connection (I have one bar)
my puzzle was all words🤷🏼♀️

I don’t know !!! It was the same puzzle but of course much easier … maybe my iPhone translated the pictures into words?
Watching this was mildly frustrating 😅

Not just you
@aaoization Thank you! 😁
Connections is about the stupidest game there is. Most of it makes absolutely no sense at all.
It's great for encouraging creative thinking outside the box, and not so great for folks who like to color inside the lines
Stick to wordle. You weren’t close.
