I bought mine new in 1981 at Yamaha of San Francisco. It’s got almost 47,000 miles on it. It’s been a commuter bike, travel bike and back roads bike. It’s always started and never leaked. So reliable. I’m doing a mild custom to it now. It won’t be as pretty as these two but it will still be nice. Stay safe everyone.
What is that light thats on your bars or clamps?? is it the lights notification, So you know your taillight and headlights are on or..... Something else?
Hi, i'm a french guy and i like your job, just one question, what is the technical difference between stock engine and race ? Carburator, pipe, transmission, cylinder kit (maybe 550cc for race) ???? One more time, good job, continue to make me dream ^^ ! (sorry for my english)
Chris Chappell You're in Southern Cal? Contact me at daviddaveinternational@gmail.com I have a 1979 with the Hi-Per-Kinetics 650 stroker engine. I want to talk to someone here, not Europe or Australia. I'm in Southern Oregon but was down in Kern County last week.
Chris Chappell Haven't heard from you, Chris. You fall off the stool? It's been a year. You need to check out my SR with it's Hi-Per-Kinetics Stage Two 650 engine. daviddaveinternational@gmail.com All SR/TT/XT fans welcome.
Dude, Lol.... All your videos are freakin awsome bro! I didn't realize all the videos on custom bikes that You had. I was going to say that I didn't know that these SR500s could move that fast man... Damn! and they are Lite and small too, Damn I want to definitely build a custom SR myself now... Or maybe build 3 or 5 of them Lol, All different styles too!! Seriously Though! Great work dude and I love the color choices. I really like when the bike frame is painted a Lighter color than the Tank. Great Work Chris, and I enjoyed watching the whole build!

It’s funny to watch this build series years ago on TH-cam and now see the 78 Devil SR for sale here now in Western Australia. 🇦🇺
Awesome 👏
I loved my SR500! Long gone now though.
1:36 just reminded me I left my fule tap in the prime position...a week ago!
Is the race engine a aftermarket product or was it a separate bike model?
Beautiful builds - very well done guys. Got the bikes, but wish I had your roads, weather and workshop!
Great work, beautiful bikes..what rear shocks used on Devil??

How do you find the glare from the sun on a polished alloy tank, is it too bright in your eyes, beautiful bikes either way.
This was a great motor especially on the XT500....1980!!
Great job fellas, absolutely stunning looks and sound!
Love the sound of single cylinders, beautiful builds. They should be sold only together, they should not be separated from each other
what kind of batteries you guys use i saw these bikes before with seat company
Myron Howell they are not batteries, they are capacitors. The seat company is our company :)
Beautiful bikes. I have an 83 SR 500
Hey,
awesome bikes, what tires are you using?
Greetings from Germany
Raphael Kern i think one bike uses Kenda tires, the other uses Dunlop's
Keep riding and building awesome bikes!!
Great bikes! I have a soft spot for the SR500. I'm watching one on eBay.
Where did you guys ride? It looks marvelous.
