Watching this back after the Chadlonso podium, everything does indeed seem falling into place. The fact that their car is literally Checo on wheels, the tyre blanket rule, the facilities being finihsed by 2025, this is actually very realistic. In fact, they may even win a year early if they are lucky.
@@jcrosby4804 2026 is a massive regulation change Audi may be able to snipe a couple Porsche engineers for their PU but I don't see what advantage Aston would have in 2026.
i think AM and Mclaren have everything they need with drivers and personnel to become a consistently winning team , especially with the shrinking budget cap i think one of them will become the next Merc . edit : stroll is a problem for AM that i didnt account for that will probably make it even harder .
From the rear facing perspective knowing that Aston have the second fastest car on the grid, one aspect you didn't mention is that Aston were developing the car pretty well last year. Other than that, this is a very good video, and a very interesting time capsule!
from the rear facing perspective knowing that aston have a car that's barely able to fight for points sometimes, aston's development skills seem to have been grossly overestimated because of how hard ferrari, mclaren and mercedes fucked up their car development in the last 6 months of 2022 and leading into 2023 as soon as the big fallen teams got their shit back together aston was GONE
I though the same way you did "lol AMR believes they'll be a WDC team in 3 years". And then the 2023 car turned up. If this isn't a one off I can't definitely see them challenging for a WDC in 2025
Will they be champions? I dare to bet a fortune that Stroll won't be. Alonso, maybe? If he stays that long and doesn't do an Alonso switcharoo mid 2024. And Mr V.? Have you considered offering the super thanks option on your video's? I know it's not Patreon and you'll have to depend more on the whims of the YT gods, but it'll enable one time donations with alternative payment methodes. And it would keep things more local, if you will: you don't have to leave the site to send you a tip. Just a suggestion: feel free to ignore =)
Most likely I don't see them getting past 3rd best constructor so I can't see either driver winning a title. I actually didn't think I was eligible for super thanks but it looks like I might be so I'll consider it. YT does take 30% (Patreon takes 8%) but actually I'm happy to support the site too as it still loses Google money haha
Love the analisis. The research. Beautiful challenge. But on tough, for now Aston has the second best car. If they keep it this way, they will be the best of the rest (as you predict), except that THE REST involves eveyone except the redbulls. Keep it up, love your content.
I can see them being 3rd at max because they are making huge strides and show they want to stay in f1, but realistically i see them battling for best of the rest
True, seems like it will be hard for anyone to catch Merc or RB. Ferrari on the other hand I could see them doing another 2020 and dropping down to 6th, easy catch

i legitimately laughed out loud when i saw the title
Was laughing til they signed Adrian newey
I reackon this will age like milk
This aged well
Adrian Newey says something diffrent
And now it’s looking like they are signing Adrian newey so maybe not 25 but 26 doesn’t seem too far fetched

It would be good to see McLaren back winning races and also to give Lando a chance to show how quick he really is
Well, looking at recent events, it is looking more realistic by the minute😉

I can neither confirm nor deny...
